We all have different likes or dislikes, but are there somethings that can universally be considered horrible.
For me it is atonal music playing during the presentation.
I could have my 5 favorite performers doing a custom video to my specification and that music would ruin it.
What can ruin any video?
Its a perfectly reasonable topic for discussion.
For me, poor camera work/lighting is a bugbear
A studio did a great looking video (content wise), a while back with great costumes and a first rate actress and it was so dark and moodily lit you couldn't see what the hell was going on

How strange are the ways of the gods ...........and how cruel.

Poor sound can totally ruin a video. If the actors voices are too soft or fade in and out, that can be a deal-breaker for watching it.
A model's poor attitude and lack of interest in the a video are deal-breakers. Also, any hardcore model who is a dead fish in the bed kills the mood in sex scenes.
Yeah, bad sound can really ruin the whole thing. Primal makes the best superheroine peril videos EVER, IMO. But they have been plagued by sounds issues for years and many of their videos are essentially ruined because there are intermittent time where you can't hear what the actors are saying.DrDominator9 wrote: ↑5 years agoPoor sound can totally ruin a video. Another one that ruins it for me is inappropriate nudity. Superheroines running around fighting crime in outfits which would get them arrested for public indecency. I've seen videos where the heroine wears a skirt and nothing underneath. So every time she throws a kick you see bush. And there are tons of them out there where they are topless or as good as.
I totally agree wit you especially about the inappropriate nudity. Superheroines should always wear clothing before they are defeated.TIEnTEEZ wrote: ↑5 years agoYeah, bad sound can really ruin the whole thing. One of my pet peeves in some superheroine videos is when the superheroine is captured, she starts cussing. Superheroines are supposed to be role models, supposed to represent the best traits of humanity, and swearing is not a dignified way for a sophisticated, classy superheroine to comport herself. For me, when an actress in a SHP film starts cussing, it takes me out of my suspended reality of the actress attempting to portray a superheroine.
Not all superheroines are sophisticated. Huntress, Black Canary ,and Scarlet Witch are a few heroines with less morals than your typical superheroines. The only other exception is during sex scenes especially if the heroine has submitted.bushwackerbob wrote: ↑5 years agoOne of my pet peeves in some superheroine videos is when the superheroine is captured, she starts cussing. I'm okay with any superheroine saying "Damn". I agree it would be out of place for some superheroines saying words like "Bitch". It would be out of Supergirl's character to call a person a bitch.

To me "damn" is okay and even "bastard" seems like an elegant curse word but anything beneath that seems unbefitting a superheroine. Kind of like what you said, if Melissa Benoit's Supergirl or Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman would not utter a curse word then it probably does not belong in a SHP film. While you do raise a good point with unsophisticated superheroines regarding language, I still do think it takes some of the mystique away from the superheroine if she starts unleashing cuss words, no matter their background.GeekyPornCritic wrote: ↑5 years agoNot all superheroines are sophisticated. For me it is when and anytime a helpless blonde heroine is in a hardcore scenario and we do not get to see the results of a creampie or at the least a full facial and also in her mouth....

It seems bizarre that a separate music track (that you can turn down or mute) isn't standard. We have the technology.
My dealbreaker is ugly footwear. I know this is crazy, but I am what I am.

You are not crazy. I remember seeing a Wonder Woman SHP film one time where the heroine was wearing tennis shoes! I mean if you can foot the bill for a Wonder Woman costume, you might as well as go all the way and spring for some proper footwear as well. You know, now that you mention it, seeing Supergirl wearing red high heeled shoes rather than her regular boots is also almost a deal breaker for me.
Another non-buying factor is having the heroine's costume completely stripped off in the first three minutes!

Or when you see the Party city WonderWoman costume.bushwackerbob wrote: ↑5 years agoYou are not crazy. I remember seeing a Wonder Woman SHP film one time where the heroine was wearing tennis shoes! This reminds me of Superheroine Destruction. The American Dream wasn't wearing any shoes at all. She was barefooted and I was totally turned off. Why is this superheroine in a female Captain American costume barefooted? The director's excuse was he wanted to try something different.
Not wearing any footwear at the beginning is a major deal breaker for me. I'm not a fan of feet anyways. I accept removing boots, but I will not accept barefoot heroines from start to finish.

I have to agree on that quote - I hate it when a model 'goes through the motions' just to get the video done. If it's a bit you don't care for, do your best acting job for the customer anyway. It shows when you don't care. Also, a terrible costume is a deal-breaker. Get as close to the superheroine's look as possible.GeekyPornCritic wrote: ↑5 years agoA model's poor attitude and lack of interest in the a video are deal-breakers.
This is especially bad when it's a custom. I bought a custom from a model and she clearly had no real understanding of the superheroine fetish. She couldn't keep a straight face and laughed through some of the dialog.heroinehunter wrote: ↑5 years agoI have to agree on that quote - I hate it when a model 'goes through the motions' just to get the video done. I agree with you TIEnTEEZ, I am also put off when a model can't keep a straight face. There was a model named Jessica Robin and she constantly laughed in every porno. It is very annoying and kills role play scenes.
There are many different things that can spoil s persons enjoyment of a video. But there is one thing that will ruin a vidoe for everyone; failure to properly film the video. Poor lighting, sound and basic camera work will ruin a video even if everything else is done well.
Oh my god yes. Or if it's filmed on video and you hear a loud-ass WHRRRR from the camera because they cheaped out on using a boom mic.DrDominator9 wrote: ↑5 years agoPoor sound can totally ruin a video. Worse are the ones where there's music, because the music just overwhelms the voices. ...I'm not the only one watching super old videos, am I?
And yes about the skimpy costumes thing - I know it's pretty ironic that I want less skin in a pornographic scene, but it's a little pet peeve of mine when they strip entirely - makes it look more like two people just having regular sex rather than a superheroine in peril.
