Hope this is new to most people -- scanned from Starlog #284.

For unmasking fans there's a nice little revelation: it seems the biggest threat to her secret identity was not the array of super villains she battled each week, but the heating thermostat.

Thanks for uploading these pages! Will check it out...

If you folks want the full dose of Black Scorpion you should own this magazine:

I have one or two others, including a four page Famous Monsters of Filmland interview with Ms. Lintel herself from around the time the series was about to broadcast. I'll post, if there's enough interest (don't want to flood the thread with large images for no reason.)

Seconded - post away, five_red!

And Maskripper - thanks for the heads up on the Femme Fatales issue. I just now ordered one from Ebay, it should get here next week.

As for your query about whether the show would have worked if Steve knew Darcy and Black Scorpion were one and the same..I would say probably not. It would be like if anyone else other than Alfred knew the identity of Batman & Robin in the Adam West show - everything would just fall apart.

Not read this one yet, so no idea whether it says anything original/interesting.

Last one, for now. Focuses more on Adam West's role in the show, but with a few quotes from Lintel.

I wrote this on another forum the other day:

Finally got my hands on a "Black Scorpion II: Aftershock"-DVD and re-watched the flick yesterday.
Damn, seems like quite some time went by since I last watched it.
If you compare it with the first movie....it's a rather big disapointment in comparison.

But let's start at the beginning, the dvd is in the player and the DVD menu appears like that:
Image
...
???
...
I thought I inserted the wrong DVD...it only says "Black Scorpion".....not "Black Scorpion 2" or "Black Scorpion 2: Aftershock".
And that is clearly the costume from the first movie (in the scene where she is riding on Michael).

WTF?
What happened here?
Oddly enough the 1st print DVD from the first movie doesn't have a DVD menu at all...no kidding.
But this one has the exact same menu as the 2nd print DVD of the first movie that came out years later.....
I don't get it....ok, a rather strange aspect, but if you hit "play movie" the 2nd movie starts..... :-)
-
The 2nd movie often drifts into clownish comedy and not only because the Joker rip-off aka Gangster Pranksta is there.
The action is shot pretty bad.
And the main problem of the movie is.....there is way too less Black Scorpion in it!
She basically has only 4 short(er) scenes incl. only one with Rick (as the detective is named in the 2nd one).
As Darcy she is mostly completely unsexy ....only in an odd day dream scene she is dressed really hot.
And that picture says a lot about the weirdness of the movie:
Image

Yeah, Rick that is not where her slip should be put on......
Especially embarrassing as she enters the room and sees him like that......
-
The movie has two really good scenes:
Spoiler
- Gangster Prankster attempts to force Black Scorpion to unmask:
"Take off your mask!.....or I burn it off!"
- Black Scorpion unmasks in front of Aftershock to convince her to give up (hell of a RISK!)
-
What is really odd....Black Scorpions kills in this movie without batting an eye.
She arrests Gangster Prankster on one occasion and kills him in the next encounter (she had the choice)
She just kills the criminal couple in a car chase at the beginning....WTF?
Totally out of control....

Funny enough the crazy guy is played by the same actor who became Detective Steve Rafferty in the TV series afterwards:
Image
-

Ok, one more good thing can I say, the DVD cover is really good:
Image
:-)
-

My Black Scorpion ranking:
-TV show
-1st movie
...
...
-2nd movie

Yeah, there is a 3rd movie as well, but that doesn't count for me as it is just a mix-up from the TV show.
But I still have to get it for the collection.....

Because it isn't really a "third movie", it's called "Black Scorpion Returns," and it's a re-release of Episodes 1 and 2 from the TV show.

More important for completists would be to secure a copy of the *only Black Scorpion comic run ever* (compiled in a graphic novel on Tidalwave Comics, from several years ago), which I did earlier this year - you can find it online. It goes over her origin, and a battle with Breathtaker, etc. RIP Adam West!

P.S. There is apparently also a one-shot comic crossover between Black Scorpion and The Legend of Isis (Bluewater's own version of the Isis character, which has a different backstory than the DC version). I'm investigating that right now. It's unavailable on Amazon.

The movie I am referring to is called "Sting of the Black Scorpion" and is made out of three episodes:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0341595

It is available on some sites.
Oddly enough I never heard of "Black Scorpion returns", even it does have a IMDB page too (only around 60 ratings...very rare, Sting of the Black Scorpion is has 200).
I never saw the "Black Scorpion Returns" flick anywhere.
"Sting of the Black Scorpion" is available on DVD as well....and therefore I need to have it.

Received the Black Scorpion 3 DVD today, so the collection of DVDs is now finally complete. :-)
Only thing left is now the Black Scorpion comic, but I already ordered the paperback some minutes ago.

Picture isn't really good, but good enough to see the items.
Image

The Black Scorpion DVD in the upper left is the canadian release of the first movie which I got for free from the friendly and generous guy from whom I ordered the 2nd movie.
Below is the newer release (2006) of the US DVD of the first movie.
