If you aren't familiar yet with the Basque bombshell Indarra, here's your chance to get acquainted. Portrayed by amazing actress (and very fit yoga instructor!) Barbara, this character debuted in EP18 and re-appeared in EP19, finally making a splash in Heroineburgh Comics issue 3. Indarra will return later this year in Episode 23 when shooting for that installment begins in July. I hope you'll find that she's an exciting and unique character with many possibilities - after all, if you can find another Basque superheroine/supervillainess/anti-heroine/whatever anywhere else in comics or live-action, please let me know, but I doubt that you can!

INDARRA'S GREEN FIRE
Episode 18
Isabella Vasquez was a university student in Pamplona, Spain. Swept away by separatist Basque fervor, she joined the insurgency against the Spanish government, and did not hesitate to participate in violence for her group's aims. Wanted for the bombing of a police station, Isabella piled some necessities into a backpack and fled into the woods behind a Spanish military cemetery, finding shelter in a cave.

Emerging from the transformational experience, Isabella looked herself over. She now possessed beautiful long green hair and an impervious frame rippling with muscular power, encased within a shiny black spandex costume which clung tightly to every centimeter of her skin, right down to her black kneepads and black heeled boots. But other parts of her outfit were bright red: the long gloves covering her hands, and the mask concealing her identity. The dark energy had empowered her to create this stunning combo directly from her imagination. Her chest was emblazoned with a symbol: the "lauburu", a four-leaf clover bent-cross shape representing the pride of the Basque people.
Isabella quickly understood that she had gained impressive super powers. Testing her enhanced level of strength, she lifted a half-ton boulder over her head with minimal effort. She also discovered that she could project fiery green bolts of energy force from her hands, able to burn and pulverize anything they touched. "Super!" she exclaimed, resolving that she would adopt a codename for her new persona as an "epihuman" (altered by the phenomenon of epigenetics).

Not wanting to be captured, Indarra initiated a physical battle with her foe. She hurled a smaller but still heavy rock at him, knocking the gun out of his hand, and then engaged in combat with him. His punches against her midsection were futile, as her tough skin did not even register the blows. She tossed him on the ground like a ragdoll, but this gave him the opportunity to reach for his gun and retrieve it, aiming with intent to shoot her but not knowing whether her skin would deflect the bullets.
Indarra saw that he was willing to kill her in order to apprehend her, and her battle rage intensified. "I will deal you the final death blow that you deserve!" she shouted, picking up the half-ton boulder and crushing the policeman with a sickening crunch sound. After making sure he was dead, Indarra knew that she needed to get rid of the evidence of her murder, so she efficiently burned his corpse to a crisp with her green fire bolts. No one would identify the body.
