The clock King shoots officer Eddie.
Later in season 1 Eddie shoots himself thus taking Thawne out of existence.
In episode 7 no one knew Eddie was Thawne's ancestor.
But without knowing that, if Eddie had died, would Thawne still been taken out of existence even without the audience knowing of the relationship.

For someone that was taken out of existence, Thawne keeps coming back.

There is the multi-verse to explain my questioned removing from existence Thawne without any backdrop. The multi-verse would not explain this to the audience.
In the moment that Eddie dies, the Star Labs crew would watch as Wells first transformed into Wells then watch as Thawne'd body disappeared atom by atom.
What explanation would first be given ro the Star Labs crew and then to the audience.
