At a restaurant in the town of KATHERINE, fourth largest city in the Northern Territory, TERRI DARWIN was having lunch with her children, 18 year old BOBBY and 18-year old BARBARA. The 40 year old brunette Terri was the widow of famous conservationist SAM DARWIN. After his death, she continued his life's work, protecting Australia's wildlife and environment through the DARWIN FOUNDATION and the DARWIN ZOO which was located in Katherine.

While being the second famous conservationist in Australia after her late husband, Terri was also an experienced businesswoman and ran the affairs of the Foundation almost single-handedly. This meant she did not see her children as much as she would have liked. The blonde haired Bobby and Barbara, both expert veterinarians and animal experts, devoted their time to running the Zoo and taking care of its animals. They also joined the park rangers on occasion when they patrolled the vast nature preserves of the Northern Territory which surrounded Katherine.

Terri listened to her children talk incessantly about Crocodile Woman and how she single-handedly captured some armed poachers the night before in the bush. "She seems too good to be true" said Terri to her children. Bobby and Barbara loved their mother. But at times like these, thought she was a boring. Immersed in their own work at the Zoo, they didn't pay attention to her activities in or out of the Foundation or visit her at the family's estate.
