Time to start a new topic for the new season!
-
Filming starts on July 19 and the season will start on October 13!
It was announced yesterday that Robin Givens will play “Jada Jet” as a new series REGULAR: “A powerful CEO for Jet Industries, Jada isn’t bossy: she’s the boss. Passionate and hard-working, a woman who has worked her way through life’s ups and downs to climb her way to the top — all while being extremely protective over her impetuous son. A woman with a deep past that forced her to give up her first-born child, Jada is a woman with a good heart, but will do whatever it takes to protect her family. Spoiler
Well, that sounds a LOT like she will also be Ryan’s birth mom….AND….that Ryan seemingly also has a brother! Hard to say how big his role will be.
Will be very interesting to see why her mother abandoned Ryan! Hope there is a really interesting story behind all that…..
I have a fair bit of excitement for this new season despite always being cautious of these writers. I think now that they were able to resolve the "Kate" thing in season 2, they can now start fresh with Ryan fully embraced as Batwoman and explore some cool new storylines that aren't tied down or trying to resolve all the issues Ruby leaving caused with season 1's established story. Hopefully we'll see some more bat gadgets(starting with a redesigned Batmobile that doesn't look like a Hotwheels car) and Luke will have an increased role as Batwing.

^ Well said!
A season is over and the lead actress hasn't left.....certainly a plus point. And now that Kate officially gave her blessing for Ryan to be her successor....as you said....Ryan can be established in that role that she had for the last season. So, finally in season 3....there is no need for a "new" Batwoman to be introduced.
Hope that we now get a lot more about Ryan's backstory, as we don't know that much about her.
About the Batmobile: There have been certainly better designs, sure. But the design here is simply severely limited by the budget. They can't afford to invest millions of dollars into a new design like in the Burton, Schuhmacher, or Nolan movies. In the new Batman movie, they have many millions for a new car as well and it still looks....pretty weird....at least.
In the show, it's just a modified Corvette, but even that did cost quite a lot of money from what I heard....at least for CW production standards. In fact, I think it the most expensive piece of equipment they made for the Arrowverse....if I didn't forget anything.

You have to remember with the Batmobile. they usually have to buy several to have replacements if the first gets damaged and extras for certain types of stunt driving. Then they need excuses for using it in episodes to divide the cost to justify the high expense. Kate's motorcycle was much cheaper.

An actress for the role of Renee Montoya is found: https://deadline.com/2021/07/batwoman-v ... 234796596/
-
Fitting that she was in the Gotham TV show as Renee Montoya(!) and now returns to the city.
Will be interesting to see how she and Batwoman will come along ;-)
More news on Batwoman!
It's not about season 3 this time....but about the Flash TV show!
To be precise it's about the first 5 episodes of season 8 of The Flash.
Among other characters, Batwoman will appear in this 5 episode event that is called Armageddon! :-)
-
Ok, I don't know how big her part in these episodes is...but even if she would be only in one episode for 5 minutes....it would be great.
And I think she will have much more screentime than that ;-)
It's also nice to see Atom and Black Lightning again...as well as Alex as "her" Supergirl show should be still running by then.
But ...besides Batwoman.... I'm most excited about having Mia Queen back in her costume and mask!
For me, it was sad news that she and the other Canaries didn't get the TV show that she deserved in my eyes.
Well, first Batwoman comes back in October (13), and ....starting on November 16... we get this "Armageddon" event with 5 episodes.
I'm very much thrilled!

^ I have seen her in "The last ship" and "Agent Carter" but honestly can't remember her part in it since these shows are some years old by now and only watched them once.
But I'm looking forward to seeing how she will play the part. I'm happy that she is playing a grown-up version of Ivy, unlike the one we got in the Gotham series.
-
And we got a trailer for the DC FanDome (October 16):
Batwoman is also in the lineup and I expect some interesting interviews or footage from season 3.
This year the FanDome event is actually placed after the start of the Batwoman season (October 13), but I hope they will save some great news for the FanDome.
Also looking forward to seeing hopefully more from Catwoman in new "The Batman" footage and to get more info on "Gotham Knights" the video game.

Marshall Virtue posted this video, he is a/the stunt coordinator of the Batwoman show.
In this video, you can see the pre-visualization of some stunts from seasons 1 and 2:

Did you stop watching Gotham? We most definitely got an adult Ivy. Two actually. Maggie Geha and Peyton List.

I watched it till the very end. But yeah, you are right, forgot about those.
Wasn't much impressed back then I guess because they didn't have the actual (full?) powers in the show....if I remember that right

Yesterday, we finally got some promo material for season 3!
It was time the promo machine got started as the season is less than one month away (October 13).
Here is the teaser snippet:
-
Yeah, just some seconds...but...it's good to know that Alice won't just be in prison during season 3 at that would quickly get rather boring.
Also, we can see that the hunt for the trophies that Batman collected from the biggest villains is on!
Poison Ivy is confirmed and cast, but no news on the other possible villains like the Penguin.
If you scroll down a little to the Batwoman part....you can get more info on season 3 here:

I think it looks really good, especially considering that the budget is rather low.
The Killer Croc from the first Suicide Squad movie looked a lot worse, and they had MUCH more money.

I'm gonna stick my neck out and say Alice will suddenly be somewhere she isn't supposed to be and deliver a load of plot exposition.

Jet Industries eh?
Wonder what they make?
Oh I know, it's whatever the plot needs this week! .... how do they plan their supply chains is what I want to know

Well, after episode 1 of this season....Spoiler
Alice is no longer the villainess...at least for now
She actually will be joining the Batwoman team in the batcave in today's episode.
But yeah, she still can be in places where she is not supposed to be. ;-)

Alice keeps referring to the Batwoman team as the new Wonderland gang under her leadership. Then she starts braiding sister Mary's hair.

So they have just forgotten about all the murders she committed up to now then eh? Must be up there with Ted Bundy by now.
Oh well, forgive and forget I guess.

You need to catch up with the show
Spoiler
She is supposed to help them to get all the villain gadgets/items back that were lost at the end of season 2.
They fear a bunch of new super villains that could terrorize the city.
Last episode it was a new Mad Hatter after that guy got his hands on that ...well...high-tech...hat.
This episode it will involve someone finding a tooth of the old Killer Croc. And that tooth seems kind of "contagious".
So, they think she can rather help the city instead of rotting away in prison.
She still is supervised and all that.

I do. I am about 3 episodes in to season 2. But I've just found the weak writing really annoying, so its hard to get enthused. I've got the episodes to see but it's more of a task to see them rather than a pleasure.
Sorry I don t mean to be a buzz kill. I just hoped it would be better. Can't stand that bloody wig for one thing, lol
So they have just forgotten about all the murders she committed up to now then eh? Must be up there with Ted Bundy by now.
Oh well, forgive and forget I guess.
But Alice has never been tried for murder so those are just alleged. She got sent straight to Arkham thanks to dear old dad and sister who has his own legal problems, but hasn't faced a trial either.
Some more news:
Episode 7, which will air next Wednesday (24) will actually already be the mid-season finale!
From what I read the show will then return on January 12 and will have only 13 episodes in total as was confirmed from some sources.
I hope that there will be some good news about the 4th season soon!
-
In this show, it was never changed.
No, Mary is now Poison Mary....for a short time I guess.
Guess that Mary and Alice will head over to Poison Ivy (Bridget Regan) who might appear at the end of the next episode as the mid-season cliffhanger.
She still needs to be freed from her underground prison.

I'm still plodding on with this, up to series 2 episode 12, but the writing is shit.
And its stupid implausible stuff that is easy to fix, they are just fucking lazy. Spoiler
You had the game show host Question master or whatever he was called and he -
Escapes from prison in the morning by killing ONE GUARD in his cell. So hiw the hell he gets past all the other guards and locked doors we just have to take as a given.
Then he
Steals a car/ van at some point
Abducts his daughter
Covers her in hundreds of symbols, which even if drawn on would use up quite a few sharpies and take hours, and if tattooed weeks.
Procures -
A big perspex case.
A supply of rare poison
An antidote for said poison.
4 coloured boxes
4 uniform sized creature symbols for said boxes
A rifle
4 targets
Wires up the targets to the big perspex box so when hit in the right order the box door opens.
Wires up 4 sets of spotlights to come on at the same time once the boxes are touched
Recreates a replica studio of his former quiz show.
Films a series of quiz questions.
Gets explosives
Makes a bomb
Wires up a pressure pad to a bomb
Wires up the pad to a video so when activated the video plays.
Gets a rare bottle of tequlua booze.
Poisons it
Delivers it to the Crow girl (can't even remember her name and I've watched 30 + episodes.)
Prints a calling card.
Aquires a weird caterpillar to put in instead of the worm
Manages to reseal the bottle without anyone noticing before they open it
Acquires some knockout gas pellet.
And it all goes down by midnight. THE SAME FUCKING SAY as he escapes with no cash and everyone looking for him.
And we know this because the dialogue goes
"He broke out of jail THIS MORNING"
Now they could have just said "He broke out of jail three days ago"
And that works, you have at least a framework of possibility instead of these ridiculously badly contrived shenanigans
There's probably lots of other things he managed to do in that 14 hr window that I've left out. Drove across town a few times, hell setting up the perspex booth on his own would probably take most of the day just to manouever it on to the middle of the firing range.
And of course there was no guarantee she would even drink the bottle that day or drink all of it to see the message.
It's derisible wank and I would really like it to be a lot better.

Again....you think far too much while watching such a TV show ;-)
It's interesting how you go on and one about just that one small aspect. Yeah, it seems far-fetched he managed to do all that since the morning of his (weird) escape.
And yeah, the escape itself was (at least) irritating to me too.....but for about a minute or so....
But maybe he had some help? Who knows.... maybe a lot of it was already prepared and just waiting for him in his evil lair?
Ok, what else do you think about that episode?
Enjoyed the plot? The action? Was the acting ok? Costumes? Characters? What about the many funny lines .....etc. etc. etc.
-
Your comment is like if someone asks a guy how his holiday was and ALL he answers is:
.... "Well on day 8 I didn't like steak they served....."
The END.
---
But ok, this has nothing to do with season 3 anyhow ;-)

I was hoping someone would tell me the writing gets better in season 3 as that's what I am working towards. . I just used that one example because it was SOOO easy to avoid rather than plunging the show in to ridiculous territory.
I can live with a degree of implausibility, but not ludicrous plot lines just because they are too lazy. You may aswell have people getting stabbed with shotguns
( there are very few funny lines, most are incredibly obvious and telegraphed, and the only costume in it is Batwoman's, but without the red wig it's akin to having a blonde Superman)

Well, the writers delivered some good plots as well, and I think season 3 is the best (so far) in terms of storyline.
But yeah, some plot holes are still there...
Hang on Tallyho, only 6 more episodes in season 2 ;-)
