Back at the Monroeville Convention Center for more fun with Steel City Con. This edition's guests includes the likes of Gates McFadden, George Takei, Ron Perlman and others.

Heroineburgh was there at Vendor Booth N11 to promote the brand-new Heroineburgh Comics #1, the also brand-new comic strip in the regional
alternative newsweekly, and our latest video release of Episode 15. Heroines and villainesses were both in attendance.

Here's a partial wrap-up of Day 1.

A new Heroineburgh fan got her comic book signed, and posed with the powerful Poderosa (Christina) and diabolical Dysphoria (Stephanie).

Poderosa and Dysphoria attract Con-goers to the Heroineburgh booth - many wanted to take photos of (or with) the heroines!

Listened to wonderful stories by the still-gorgeous Gates McFadden, one of the greatest science-fiction heroines of all time (Dr. Beverly Crusher).
We're not ashamed to admit we got a little emotional during this panel.

Hearing that her appearance is almost over at Steel City Con, Poderosa prepares to take off into the stratosphere. A lot easier than catching the bus back from Monroeville. Looking forward to Day 2!

On Day of August 2019 Steel City Con, the best and brightest of the Pittsburgh Heroine League assembled to promote the release of Heroineburgh Comics #1. Joining us at the booth were: Bridget as Arctica, queen of the frost; Serra as X-Machina, engineer extraordinaire; and Mauricia as Vendetta, the Italian spirit of vengeance.

Our booth assistant was excited about the appearance of Ernie Hudson, who will be appearing in the new Ghostbusters movie directed by Ivan Reitman. While we had our hearts set on the packed panel session with George Takei, who brought the house down with his humorous demeanor.

Vendetta and Arctica stand at the ready to guard the Heroineburgh table and greet the fans.

Vendetta is so confident about her ninja fighting skills that she goes up against Cobra Commander!
(who is, by the way, a big fan of SHIP. Off camera, he and I discussed a bit about the merits of The Rye, Bluestone and other top producers)

This is Ina and her boyfriend Jamie, cosplaying to the nines. Ina plays a smaller part as the weather anchor in Episode 12 of Heroineburgh (which stars Poderosa). If all goes as planned, you'll see her return later in Season 2 in a bigger role as a supervillainess!

Day 3 of Steel City Con: Endgame flew by quickly as more people snapped up all three comics for sale at our combined table.
In addition to Heroineburgh Comics #1, copies of The Edge were sold, as well as the new comic Music Maker, by our own heroine Vendetta! (Mauricia)
We also met with a couple of promising new actresses and a costume maker.

Here are some of our final adventures:

Cybrina (Sarah) has an encounter with Buffalo Wolverine (yep, he's a cosplayer who plays Logan all around the Buffalo, NY area).

Cybrina (Sarah) and Vendetta (Mauricia) contend with the female Scarecrow, an amazing cosplay created by Dana, a capable actress and costumer who will appear soon in Heroineburgh as the toxic villainess Chlorina. We can't wait to welcome Dana to the (Anti-)Heroineburgh roster!

(Sigh) Maybe one day I will dress up for a con one day. It's on my bucket list. Good costumes by the way.

Vendetta (Mauricia) meets a young but enthusiastic Poison Ivy, cosplayed by Delia. With considerable acting experience including a TV commercial, Delia is eager to join the Heroineburgh team, and we will hopefully have a part for her soon!

The 3rd Day lineup takes a final power-pose shot, as Vendetta, Cybrina and Sintilla are all ready for action. Could Sintilla be contemplating joining the good side after bonding with these feisty heroines?

Also appended to this thread: Heroineburgh had a booth for two days at PulpFest, a convention in Cranberry, PA (north of Pittsburgh) which
featuring a large gathering of pulp fiction fanatics. It's probably the premiere Con of its genre in the States.

There were book signings, lectures on various pulp-oriented topics, and a large dealers room full of everything pulp that you could imagine.
Plus tons of Silver Age and Golden Age comics at collectors' prices. There were a couple other comic book folks signed up to vend, so
we figured we'd give it a shot since it was a different audience than we'd encounter at pop-culture cons. Sure enough, this audience was older - boomers and up - but we were able to interest quite a few of them in Heroineburgh, and sold a half-dozen copies of the comic as well.

Representing the Heroineburgh live-action series was actress Tiffany as Middle Eastern superheroine Darbouka, the doyenne of destructive sonic
blasts. Here she is hanging with us on Saturday at the Heroineburgh table. Quite a few attendees complemented her on the costume - she was the
only one there portraying a character!

If you look very carefully in the photos, you can see Darbouka fighting Jinniyya on the video screen, Darbouka on the T-shirt, Darbouka's 8-bit version on her pixel magnet, and Darbouka on the table banner. No wonder she looks so confident!

Figured I'd just add this to the August Con thread.

Today we wrapped up the summer Comicon season with a visit to WV Pop Con in Morgantown. Run by the owners of the Comics Paradise shops in Morgantown and Fairmont WV, it's somewhat similar to Three Rivers Comicon in that the emphasis is on artists, comics creators and cosplay. Except for a handful of food vendors, really the entire Con (in a big hangar-like building) is one big Artists' Alley.

What this Con helped us do was to expand the Heroineburgh name into the West Virginia area. We sold 14 copies in one day (and our friend from the comic book The Edge sold almost as many) and also got a few more stocked into the Comics Paradise shops. We were also able to show lots of people excerpts of the episodes, and we had a new sticker on hand, which was Jason Wright's amazing comic book cover.

Arctica is on the comic book cover, and she was also there in person, portrayed as always by the brilliant and dedicated Bridget. The following is some various documentation of Bridget's reign in Morgantown as the Queen of the Frost!
