What happened to The Wizard's Lair?

We recently discovered that our website is being transferred to some new servers on SuperheroineCentral. The Wizard's Lair is a free-to-browse website that spotlights artwork and stories from fans of super heroine in peril (SHiP). We have been around for over 2 decades and will remain with the support of the SHiP community and with the continued support of our gracious webhost.
It will take some time to get the older material posted, but we will still continue posting new material as we receive them. If you have any additional questions, feel free to email us.

Love the site, been a fan since early 2000s :-)
A man may fight for many things: his country, his principles, his friends, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally I'd mud wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock, and a sack of French porn.

Now that he has retired (in real life), Vladi has decided to retire The Wizard as well, at least for the time being, to focus on personal goals and health.

Here's hoping he reaches both goals. His guiding hand at the Lair helped build it into one of the most appreciated and visited SHIP websites ever created: one that continues to draw artists and writers from around the globe. Our gratitude for his dedication to the genre is extensive and heartfelt.Zeta Clark wrote: ↑6 years agoNow that he has retired (in real life), Vladi has decided to retire The Wizard as well, at least for the time being, to focus on personal goals and health.

You are correct, the site is being rebuilt. To date, I believe that all of the henchman files (art works from poser to drawings to photo manips) have been restored and are now available again.
For some reason, Zeta has put Snakeman's stories in within the art section and has yet to reestablish any other writers just yet. It's a long process for her but she's working her way through it.

Looking forward to it's triumphant return - I've been an admirer of that site for a very long time.
Well your stories are my fav there, so I look forward to them being back up, I've had to read them here for the time being.DrDominator9 wrote: ↑6 years agoYou are correct, the site is being rebuilt. Speaking as a long time fan of Vladi and those who contributed to The Wizard's Lair, I'm glad the site is still hosted and is growing once again.
For those who didn't know, Vladi has a dA account and has been posting a lot of his early work there. The Wizard is far from finished!

Those are mostly art and photo manipulations that have been restored over the past several years since they changed servers. Only two writers, to the best of my knowledge, out of many have had their works put back up. Hence, my post above.

There are four authors there with their stories posted: Abacus, Abashful1, Lord Griffin, and Snakeman. Also, of course, Vladi's stories and Scarlet Witch's sub-site and stories are there, since they're past managers of the site. There used to be a lot more than six writers at that site. I guess that my SG Mob is too long and cumbersome to try to recreate there but I had other stories there, too, that have not been put back up. Not to mention years and years of some really excellent Story Contest material. Ah well, the past is the past.Mr. X wrote: ↑3 years agohttps://www.superheroinecentral.com/%7E ... /hench.htm

I used to love their serial comics section. There were some really talented artists that posted their work there and that section has yet to return and sadly I don't expect it will.
Wow, thanks for topping this because I didn't notice it before.
I used to religiously follow your poser comics, Mr. X, as well as pop in on various henchmen in the Lair. Tracking the developments on SHC (as well as SHIB and SHD, etc) were what brought me into SHIP 20 years ago. Glad to hear this is all still going. Thanks for being such an inspiration.
By the way, slightly off topic, I just noticed the stills and 2 short clips from the "Xera" shoot. I think Leslie Culton was also the actress who played American Fox, right? Is there any more to that Xera content, and could an edited action scene ever see the light of day? For some reason, there's so little Xena-related peril (we have a specifically Xena-styled character) so it's very interesting to me.

There could be some crossover of the same henchmen at Wizard's Lair who have their artwork posted at the Lair while their stories are posted on your site. Many names are duplicated there. I never actually submitted my stories to your site Mr. X, but I suppose I could. It would be quite an endeavor and I'm not sure that the audience isn't almost entirely duplicated here and your site. Wouldn't you think so? (I hope that's not an insulting question. Pardon my ignorance.)Mr. X wrote: ↑3 years agoDid you check my story area?DrDominator9 wrote: ↑3 years agoThere are four authors there with their stories posted: Abacus, Abashful1, Lord Griffin, and Snakeman. Not sure what you mean. I know a lot of people who don't know this forum. Just don't bomb me with 20 stories at onceDrDominator9 wrote: ↑3 years ago

I have been wondering about the Wizard's Lair. I had a Zatanna story win a story contest there some years ago and I don't have that story in my files anymore, apparently. It would be interesting to see if the older contest material is planned for reposting at some point.

Hi all, sorry for resurrecting a thread gone by - just wondering if there had been any word on what was going on with the WL site or with Zeta. Alarmingly their last presence here was just as the Covid pandemic was getting under way (in Europe at least) and so no doubt there others out there concerned for Zeta's well being.

My current story is Supergirl V Bane
This is all the stuff I've done here but don't tell anyone about this!

This is sad news since I liked Zeta and what she'd done for the site in her best years. But she's clearly been either distracted or busy or whatever and the site needs to be resurrected big time. Here's hoping.
Just hope she is OK.
How strange are the ways of the gods ...........and how cruel.
I am here to help one and all enjoy this site, so if you have any questions or feel you are being trolled please contact me (Hit the 'CONTACT' little speech bubble below my Avatar).

I remember a few years ago she had some problems, she lost some email accounts and the site was moved to new servers and it took a long time to get everything back to normal. She showed up less and less until she disappeared. I hope she is well.DrDominator9 wrote: ↑2 years agoThis is sad news since I liked Zeta and what she'd done for the site in her best years.
