I think this is, more or less, the 70th Spandexer movie ... (yep, SEVENTY ! )

Of course i'm not complaining the costumes are always great and the girls all super-hot (basicly destroying my past prejudice about jap girls not being pretty enough ... !)

I would like to see more fights/action before the usual rape/porn routine though, but that's just a personal preference.

Every once in a while, someone posts something about GIGA and I go to their web site and view some of the previews. But my experience with them has been very inconsistent. Sometimes the previews work, sometimes they don't. It's often very difficult to determine (or to make sense of) the video title or to determine what kind of content is in it or in what proportion. It's hard to tell what language the video is in, or if they are subtitled.

Since their previews don't even always work, I'm leary of buying anything from them for fear that I will download a video and not be able to watch it. And then what? I'm not at all confident that I can get any support from them in English.

99% of their videos are NOT subbed. So you can only guess the 'plot' (as if... )

The video preview system works like a charm now (after the past disasters), so try it out ! (you need to create a new username, it's free). Of course the DRM sux (only full videos, not for the previews), but what can you do.

Most of the movies are on par if not better than the 'western' products (especially in the VFX area), but I admit it's easy to notice a little bit of repetition here too (if people buy and/or ask for the same thing over and over... it's normal, i guess).

They are trying to make original stuff too, sometimes with hilarious results: lately I saw one of those "giantess" videos in which there was a "Godzilla girl" destroying buildings and the military forces, but i found it quite laughable, especially the end with the 2 lame robots =)

Can't blame them for trying though my fav videos are those starring the Supergirls, I especially liked last year a couple of videos with "alternate" costumes (but identical powerset):

Spandexer, right on time!

No, but seriously, not only do I love the J-Pop styled Spandexer theme song (I hope to cover it onstage one day and leave people perplexed..maybe we'll share the bill with another local band which covers the Ultraman theme) but the character is one of my faves in the SHIP world.

I agree with many of you that Giga struggles to appeal to the US market with lack of subititles. I have to commend them for trying though to be more mobile and american friendly on their website. There is repetition in their movies as is their is repetition with a lot of the US films we have as well.

At the same time, these asians are hot and they do get their predicaments more and more interesting.

I think a lot of these shows (american or japanese) are trying to make the most of their budgets. Giga does employ many different directors and different fetishes. All I can say is I'm glad there is both out there to scratch my itch!

The Sleeveless version works with the lighter fabric.



A 'solid look', favors the Long sleeved version.

I think the issue is one of fabric than the cut of the costume, at least for me it is.

As a long time fan of mostly all things Giga... I'm pretty sure there's more like... 30 Spandexer videos?

As to the topic of Giga... they've always been sorta hit and miss with their material. They hit a BROAD spectrum of fetishes so while often they release videos appealing to a fetish you have no interest in... Eventually they'll put out something that is right up your alley... if only in Japanese.... though from the few English subbed ones I've seen, the plots are so bare bones as to be little more than what you 'guessed' watching it in Japanese when all you knew about it was 'Superheroine fights villains, superheroine loses'

I was just gonna say the same. The brightness on the boots and cape is great. As you know one of my comments in the past on one of your costumes(afraid I cant recall which character) was that the silver suit looked more like a dull grey, but these are spot on. Great work on the other render too. Nailed it.

Yes, 30ish sounds about right, maybe even a conservative low estimate, when you consider that there are (3) sisters in the storyline, and they made a few videos with this character under Zen and Zeus labels. I believe it's one of my favorite (if not favorite) and Giga's oldest recurring characters. The fact that she's appeared so many time and even have updated versions of old storylines shows i'm not alone in rating them high on personal favorites.

I agree, that it would be nice to have English subtitles on some of their videos, but as you noted, the plot and dialogue isn't hard to figure out and there is a certain "Mystery Science Fiction Theatre" appeal to watching it and making up your own dialogue (which is often better) when you watch one. Really on the translations, i'm guessing a lot is lost, so just reading the story summary and watching the Japanese video is pretty entertaining.

Yes, tinkering about and trying out a new texture technique. I rather like the look and effect too.

The Moon Angel model is an almost completed model, but needs just a little more work. The most notable thing left to do is adding a bit of white to the gloves, which I haven't gotten around to and which i'm actually wonder, if she looks better without it.

This model is actually Moon Angel's 'powered down' look, which Giga seems to put her in after she's taken too much damage, or expended too much energy to wear her normal 'Battle' or 'Combat' costume, which is the long sleeved look. Which I'll probably design at some time, after completing this one, when I have time.

Moon Angel Spandexer is my favorite. Luckily for me, I can speak Japanese. So I can listen easily to this.

There's one coming up with a really busty girl. Hopefully they do some fun stuff with her. Kaho Shibuya

One question though, why the golden glove?

She is gorgeous - looking forward to it!

btw, there is no comic book character called "Spandexa" (unbelievably. it would, among other things, be a perfect name for a character in Empowered).
I am very tempted to create a Spandexer parody character, maybe I will soon. If someone else steals this idea before I get to it, and makes it sexy, so be it.

If you don't understand japanese, you lose the half of the thing. Dialogues are very rich in these movies. So much varied compared to the US productions. The psychologist aspect is very important for Japanese producers.
If you want to hiring someone to sub these movies, I'm interested.

I wish I could understand Japanese. I always suspected Giga films were good that way. There is so much more dialogue than in US videos. I understand why that is but it's still sad that they can figure out how to do it and we can't. Maybe they sell so many more videos and thus it makes it worth the expense?

Spandexer is just a franchise among lot of more (Superlady, Sailor Moon, Ultraman, Sentai, Wonder Woman, Bishoujo Kamen Poitrine, Fontaine, etc...). There are spin off, prequel, sequels, and some movies are tied together. They even do crossover sometimes. And contrary to the US production, it's not just 30 min videos, but real movies of 90 min minimum. Some of them can reach more than 140 min. So there is space for a very good plot and a good presentation of the heroine with her strengh, weakness, motives, origin, etc... Idem for the ennemies.
Sometimes, to understand the plot of a movie, you must have seen the previous episode. (and of course understand japanese)

The scenes takes place in various place, outside or inside location. Some movies have an happy end (40%) but most have bad end or even dead end. The special effects are great fot the genre of movie. They really put lot of money in it.
I particulary love their Superlady series. Most of the movies are tied and they use the same actresses. The plot is very deep and has nothing to envy to the actual american Supergirl serie with Melissa B. (I recommand specialy Superlady Zero with a great fight scene in the mud under heavy rain)
They have about fifty heroines franchises that's why they produce about 5 movies in a week. It may seem like a lot, but they seldom come out more than a movie of the same franchise the same month.

As I have the chance to understand Japanese, I realize how frustrating it must be for those who love these movies but can not fully enjoy them. But the people of GIGA do not seem to realize it. Or they don't care.

I bought many zen and giga videos over the years and don't mind not understanding the dialogue. The models are usually pretty hot and the productions are high quality. With that said, for my tastes focused on heroine torture, the quality from both studios has deteriorated in the last 3-4 years. I can't stand the vibrator "torture" and miss the days when it was more whippings, beatings, and electro. Now maybe 1-2 videos per year from both studios combined look good to me. The best in my opinion was Masked Seductive Heroine.

GIGA has been dipping their toe in English subtitles again... but it seems they seldom do it for the best-sellers. I suspect they may be doing subtitles as a way to capture sales they wouldn't get without them. They subbed Spandexer Zero 2 but not Spandexer 7 or Spandexer Zero 3. *shrug*

Looks like the next American Heroine inspired video from Ginta is going to be Power Girl.

From the preview pictures, a little confused on what color hair she will have though.

Possibly, she will be a blond, but when she weakens and is defeated her hair color will darken, i noticed her costume is damaged in the picture with darker hair.
