Purple Haze stars Keisha Grey as the titular role who is called in to try and rescue Marvel who has found herself captured by Dr. Malcovich and Onyxia (Played by Stella Rae). The council hires the vigilante and sends Haze in with a supplied informant. The tables turn instantly and PH finds herself faced with two powerful thugs. Her super speed allows her to triumph in most battles, but when one of the thugs manages to inject her with a special sedative, the odds begin to mount against her, can Purple Haze figure a way out in time? Lets find out!
And the first thing i noticed straight away about this film was the incredible production values, most specifically on Purple Haze’s costume which in SHG fashion is incredibly shiny, tight fitting and complimentary to it’s stars most gorgeous assets (her curves).
Which brings me to the star herself : Keisha Grey a famous pornstar who as said before has a beautifully well rounded figure which she usually flaunts through striking some flattering poses throughout to amplify this fact, as well as great facial features too.
The direction also helps towards her radiance usually giving regular shots from underneath our heroine at the most flattering angle to truly get across the goddess-like quality of our heroine as well as giving SHG’s brand of great wound up tension and titillating scene composition too.
The script is a little more complicated than most and is a little hard to adjust too, mainly because so much names are thrown around during the first couple of minutes but luckily it wasn’t long before the craftsmanship of the direction and performances overshadowed the story.
Another small con is the fight scenes possibly because Keisha grey is a pornographic actress and unlike more heroine based actresses she isn’t used to the fight scenes and while this does result in them being nowhere near as slick and as impact full as is suspected by SHG in a way it work’s in it’s own right because Purple Haze isn’t putting any effort into her punches, it show’s how effortless fighting would be if you’ve got super-strength so while it definitely isn’t intentional it actually works in its way,
Plus another thing that rebuts this is even though the action may not be to my liking, the skillful direction/editing still gives it that backbone every other SHG fight scene would have so it doesn’t feel wholly fake and choppy as a result.
And as for Keisha’s performance it is fantastic, she is alluring, introverted and naturally oozes sex giving really great sounds/facial reactions really early on giving across the peril/shock just as provocatively as the naivety and defiance of her character in this situation while always keeping things extremely straight forward and earnest which works perfect for the films tone, style and cinematography with no jokes or one-liners from her character just pure peril (which is a great thing).
The music is also fantastic setting the dark/brooding tone that the rest of the film then runs with and really feels not only climatic/dramatic but also really gives off the mortality of our heroine’s situation really feeling like this could be the end for her.
And then we are introduced to our villain Onyxia (played by the one and only Stella Rae) and as always outdoes herself again with a mischievous, plotting and intelligent performance as the villain as well as in usual Stella fashion giving a seductive and sensual feel to her role too making it as sexy as it is intimidating.
And the end sex scene is fittingly beautiful to watch and pure eye candy, i also love how they kept in the loud screeching the desk naturally gives off which makes it feel even more forceful/violating, i also love the always effective touch of her character slowly coming over to the actually enjoying it near the end as well as the incredibly effective final touch of having Stella’s reactions in the background that soon turn more and more intense as it goes along, really great decision.
The second sex scene while almost just as visually stunning it is nowhere near as impact full or has as much energy as the first but with that being said and without giving anything away, the film more than makes up for it and lets just say it deals with something I’ve always wanted in a heroine film but have never seen, until now.
So with that being said while the cons at the beginning seemed ultimately damaging to the overall film, i was absolutely won over by not only the expecedly great performance by Stella Rae but also the surprisingly fantastic performance from from Keisha Grey, and coupled with the artfully shot direction, sensual atmosphere and an absolute spellbinder ending that exceeded expectations and then did it again i definitely have to recommend this film.
