Peyton List, My Wonder Woman

I don't know if many people watched the Tomorrow People, but I am a huge Arrow fan and started following this show (plays right after Arrow). Anyhow one of the main characters is played by Peyton List and she is not only stunning, but really can sell a fight scene. If you get a chance to watch the show, I would recommend it. It's pretty good. Here is a few photos, but I think she would make an amazing Wonder Woman and she should have been considered for the role imo. Just a thought!

Yeah, she can play Wonder Woman ! Makes you wonder what these movie studio executives or casting agents are thinking when it comes to casting!? I imagine Peyton List would be happy to make a television salary to play WW on the big screen if given a chance.....I'm still shaking my head at the WW casting; the WW porn parody has better casting

Usually TV shows lock in actors so they only have limited time off to do a movie. Scheduling becomes very important, just think of all the actors that got locked into 18 months of shooting to do Lord of the Rings.

That makes sense, and who knows how long she will be with the Tomorrow People (I think the show is good, but it is a remake). She just looks very Wonder Woman to me.

Yeah Peyton is pretty, but she has the same thing wrong with her as all the others - she's not naked and tied to my bed!

I remember seeing an awful horror film called Shuttle that had Peyton in, was the first time i came across her she is gorgeous and would make a good wonder woman. My choices would have been either Taylor Cole or Bridget Regan from Legend of the seeker

I could definitely see either of those girls, but the reason I choose Peyton was not looks alone. I saw her in several fight scenes and she can really pull it off! Have either of these ladies been in any type of action film?

Yeah, I had the same idea. Peyton would be a perfect Wonder Woman and Taylor Cole and Bridget Regan look like they can pull it off as well. Sigh, guess we'll have to wait and see how Wonder Woman plays in Man of Steel 2. Gotta stay optimistic

Oh I am trying to be, but the cast has me worried. I liked Henry Cavill as super man, and don't get me wrong I like Ben Affleck, but Batman vs Superman sounds more like a fan made Youtube video than a Hollywood blockbuster to me. Then again I couldn't see Heath Ledger as Joker until I saw the film. Ate my words right after.

Briget Reagan did a lot of fighting in the Legend of the Seeker series not sure on taylor, would have time to train them up though :), all 3 Peyton, Bridget and Taylor would be awesome as WW

Looks like Jesse Eisenberg is going to be Lex Luthor.

This is going to be magic. He is going to so imposing as a bad guy. So Batman and Superman team up against a high school looking kid. Yup gonna be real imposing.
Heck lets just get Lena Dunham as Wonder Woman while they are at it. Sure, why not.

Yeah why bother with the comics. Pffff. That stuff like "stories" and "character development" and "fans" and "continuity" and "anything that makes rational sense" just gets in the way.

I can see Taylor Cole, I even used her in a manip as WW before (though my choice has changed since) but I'll never understand people's fascination with Regan.

Does anyone remember if Peyton is the one who played Lucy Lane on Smallville?

If 'Tomorrow People' doesn't work out, and CW takes another crack at 'Amazon,' Peyton may be in the short list for that WW. So your mission now is to get people to stop watching TP, so that can happen.

Peyton, for the record, stands 5'7".

I'm surprised that no one's put Alexandra Daddario into the WW mix. She's 5'8", has done quite a few fight scenes, and is a decent actress in her own right.

Yup. Like i said, a little short for Wonder Woman. Lynda Carter was 5'10" and as you can see in the pictures below she looked rather short next to the typical Hollywood leading man like Lyle Wagner who was 6'4". Now picture Peyton List at 5'7" standing next to a 6'4" Affleck and a 6'2" Cavill and calling herself an amazon. And yeah I know all about camera angles, platforms and in the modern age digital enhancements. They could make it work but why go through that in every single shot when you can just hire a taller actress, but not Gal Gadot!

Yeah Gadot is going to be tiny compared to those to. Plus the guys will be wearing boots so they will be a bit taller and Batman at least will be wearing a suit that bulks him up even more. More than likely WW will be like Fiona (sp?) in MOS and just be there and do some stuff but not much of anything else.

Gal Gadot is a 1/2 inch taller than Lynda Carter. Gal will probably be wearing boots too. I hope they don't put her in Lynda WW's granny-like depends padded bottoms.

So what if she looks less bulky than the men: she's a woman. WW looks less bulky than the men superheroes in the comics too.

I am sure costume will not be an issue in the film. Most costumes for heroes lately are very well done imo. I just worry about the character being weak and boring. Not much has been said (that I have found) about the movies plot other than the simple idea that Batman and Superman will be fighting (thank you title). I am not a fan of the casting really, but I do hope it blows everyone away. Nothing like going to a movie with low expectations and walking out wanting to see it again!

Zack said (I'm paraphrasing) he's loosely basing the movie on Frank Miller's the Dark Knight Returns, which has a big fight scene between SM and BM. However he's likely deviating a lot, cause that graphic novel has a girl Robin in it, and the Joker, and a one armed Green Arrow, and if I'm remembering right, WW is only in 1 or 2 panels, and I think she was bound and rather scruffy looking.

Although...beneath the shoulder is a rather slim arm, slimmer than Peyton's, so I suppose she'd have to lose arm weight to match your idealized 'This is Wonder Woman' cartoon. Edit: actually I'd have thought you would pick a WW overall bulkier, not just shoulders.

scribbler "A cartoon!!   !!! Right, real life actresses should have to look like a cartoon!"

Actually, she should look like the comic book character. She should be true to what Wonder Woman is: A warrior princess of the Amazons (based on the Amazons of Greek mythology). Looks are a start on the character, and is all we can discuss so far. The actress picked is pretty, but to me she does not scream amazon warrior.

What makes me worried is that the recent movie/tv depictions of DC characters have not been true to what the hero stands for. Will Hollywood get it right this time? We can only hope she is true to what WW is all about: A heroine fighting for justice, love, peace, and sexual equality. (The last not being as important as it was when Marston created her.)...

Ah, who am I kidding. I just want to see her in peril, with sexual overtones!!! :-)

From what I have seen a hero changes with the times to become whatever the people need. I don't have a problem with the DC characters on TV as of late, I am a huge fan of the CW's Arrow Series. I thought it was a great spin on the character. In the show everyone has motive (example the first main villain was driven mad listening to the death of his wife over and over again), of course nothing is perfect, but it is a deep show once you get rolling with it.

When I watched Mr. X's video on the cartoon Wonder Woman, I didn't seem to give me the same impression you guys got. I saw the costume, the way she fought, and how she carried herself. I mean we can't expect a human to look that way, just as close as we can to the character. Come on guys every one can have their own opinion right? Why the full court press?

Yes, the ole, "you don't want people to have a view" ploy. Sure, you can have a view. You can also express it in a less insulting way (boney bar girl). But really, just do what you want, any way you want. Voice your views, I'll voice mine.

Ah, who am I kidding. I just want to see her in peril, with sexual overtones!!! :-)
And she will look like the comic book character. She'll have dark hair, be very attractive, white, and wear a WW costume close enough just like MOS SM costume was close enough. She's 5'10" so she's tall (which seems to be an issue for some, but not for me, cause if they'd gone with Morena Baccarin at 5'7" I'd 've not complained.) She has military experience and does all her own stunts in the action movies she's been in. I've seen her act, she's good, and to me she's got all the credentials to play WW.

The big knock against her is her fashion model thinness. OK, but she's a fashion model. Fashion culture requires her to be tall and skinny to get that work. Now, is she just naturally skinny, or is it a struggle for her to keep her slimness? Don't know. Chances are she's dying to eat more food than she usually could when she competed with other fashion models for fashion model work, and this WW role of a lifetime is just the ticket! So now she's got a different gig, different purpose, role, and it's WW. I think she'll have no problem putting on 5 to 10 lb's of muscle n fat (or whatever she and trainers and director decide on) for the role. Actors and actresses do this all the time, put on weight, lose weight, train, tone, get flabby, whatever is required. She's clay now, clay that can be molded into a better WW look. But time will tell. The people knocking her now don't seem to want to give her that chance, allow her the training time and see what happens. But I do.

But really, it doesn't matter what any of us think, barring any unexpected events, changes (which is possible in a timebased world), she's going to be WW in a few movies. I think the pre-negativity is unfair to her (or to anyone this kind of thing happens to). If she comes off as an uninspired, unconvincing WW after the fact, after the movie comes out, I will say so if that's what I think.

I'm taking a 'we'll see' attitude with a positive leaning, and yeah, I'll also push back against over-the-top pre-negativity when I feel like it! But no, no one has to give her a chance if they don't want it. Have at it. But I'll also keep posting if I have the time. (@ksire_99: FTR, I don't think your negativity is over the top, you're actually reasonable.)

DC character depictions: I thought the Nolan Dark Knight movies were really good and depicted a dark BM world really well. Personally, I prefer a little more light with my dark! So I can't say they're my favorite BM movies, but I can't deny that they're quality movies. The Avengers movie is more my speed, really liked that one.

I was guessing MOS would be lighter cause it's SM, but it wasn't, and that disappointed. For me, it really needed some light moments. Did it have any, I barely remember any? It also needed to have SM not do to ZOD what WW did to Max Lord in the comics...it was practically the same scene, one in a movie the other in comic.

Fiction content does get adapted over time, and between mediums. I found the Harry Potter thing interesting. First book and movie were pretty close. Next book and movie not as close, and then lots of deviation between the rest of the books and movies. And the lead time between book releases and movie releases was less and less. OK, I'm not sure where I was going with this last part...

I seem to have digressed. I'll stop now.

I agree with you Scribbler on a great many things. I want the movie to be great, wanting a movie to fail that I plan on going to see would be pretty silly of me. As far as Batman goes, personally, I feel this character should be dark given the background. I can't say Nolan's movies are my favorite (I will always have a soft spot for Michael Keaton portrayal, I grew up with it), but I did love the movies. I also likee the MoS movie, though it was very dark. It seems dark is the thing these days which is unfortunate for me because I love comedy. Marvel is brilliant because it truly captures all the emotions in a film and reflects life better than a strictly dark film. I have to admit I laughed pretty hard when that trucker came outside to find his truck mangled and impaled with logs in the MoS movie, though it was out of Superman's character.

On to Harry Potter, love the hell out of those books and after each book I watched the filmed version. I understand the conflicts in making the film and without the films being 6 hours long you can't have every bit of the book in there. For the most part I loved the movies, even if they did stray from the books. Though to be honest I don't know how easy the films were to follow if the person watching had not read the book first. It was very fast pace! I think the part that disappointed me most was the epic battle with Lord V at the end. IMO it completely missed the entire point of the series, but Hollywood will be Hollywood and if Lord V got taken out the a little bitch on the big screen maybe the non readers of the books would have been disappointed. Who knows. Either way I loved the movies and the books.

I think it's because people want the movie to be great hat they essentially panic when they here news they don't like. Thor was always my favorite comic character growing up and I remember how it went when they announced there would be a movie.

1- Marvel "were making a Thor movie"..... Comicdom "Hazzah, hazzah!' with great excitement.
2- Marvel "Kenneth Branagh will direct".........Comicdom "hawhat????He's never done action he's more of a Shakespeare kinda guy" With great unease.
3- Marvel "Chris Hemsworth will play Thor"...Comicdom "Who? Why not Skarsgard, or pit, or numerous other fan choices? Who is this guy" .....Random fans " He's the guy from the first 8 seconds of the new Star Trek" .... Comicdom "Oh, has he been in anything else?"..... Random fans " Just some Australian soap opera."........Comicdom "What the fuck?" with great, great unease.
4 - Marvel "Tom Huddleston will play Loki."........Comicdom "Finally some good news" with some satisfaction.
5- Marvel "Anthony Hopkins will play Odin" ....Comicdom "Ok were back on track" with building confidence.
6- Marvel "Jamie Alexander will play Sif" ........Comicdom "Now that's what I'm talking about!" with renewed excitement.
7- Marvel "Edris Elba will play Heimdall (Sif's brother)".......Comicdom "OH COME ON! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE MORONS? DON"T THEY EVEN KNOW WHO THESE CHARACTERS ARE?" with venom spewing.
and so on and so on!

In the end the movie was well received even if most fans could still nit pick the hell out of it. It's the passion for the genre that draws these responses cause we would all like to see the movie done our way. In the case of superman vs Batman you're starting with a version of Superman few liked, tossing in an actor who sucked as Daredevil and is expected to be worse as Batman now that he's 10 years older. Toss in a baby faced Luthor and a woman that doesn't fit hardly any bodies vision of Wonder Woman and there seems to be very little positive to balance out the negative. Add to that the fact that haters are always more outspoken and louder than the content and the happy. For every venom spewer out there there could be 10 or 20 or a thousand that are happy with the choices or even just that the film is getting made at all but they don't feel compelled to go on line and bitch about it ever 5 seconds.

Ok. My view is your position on Gadot is fake and you are only siding with this girl to be counter with others' views similar to your melt down episode with Palicki (sp). And that you are using a position of auto-disagree to simply silence people.

Like you said. My view.

Supergirl is mine wrote:I remember seeing an awful horror film called Shuttle that had Peyton in, was the first time i came across her she is gorgeous and would make a good wonder woman. My choices would have been either Taylor Cole or Bridget Regan from Legend of the seeker
I could definitely see either of those girls, but the reason I choose Peyton was not looks alone. I saw her in several fight scenes and she can really pull it off! Have either of these ladies been in any type of action film?

Does THIS answer your question?
