It's time for the Comicon season once again...and Heroineburgh is ready with our first appearance of the year this weekend at Steel City Con in Monroeville, PA (Apr 8-10). We'll have our booth in the main vendors hall as usual.

Here is the approximate actress schedule for the weekend:

Friday April 8
Pagliaccia (Gabriel) Noon - 3 pm

Saturday April 9
Cybrina (Heather) 3 - 6 pm
Darbouka (Tiffany) All day (she's selling her fantasy novels and 'Celtic Goth' music CDs at our table)

Sunday April 10
Mesmera (Stacy) Noon - 2 pm at booth. 1-2 pm on the judges panel for the kids' cosplay contest.
Serpenta (Jessica) Noon - 3 pm at booth. 2-5 pm on the judges panel for the teens' and adults' cosplay contest.

Other than Chevy Chase... the beautiful female celebs in attendance will include Christie Brinkley, Beverly D'Angelo, Christina Ricci, Tuesday Knight, Brooke Bundy, Marisol Nichols, Amanda Wyss, Dana Barron & Heather Thomas.

Marvin and I will be at our booth all three days (although I'll be leaving early on Friday about 4 pm).
Hope to see you there if you're around the area!

And to get you back in the Comicon Season mood, here's a lovely video from Bridget, who plays Arctica, walking around
at last year's Terrificon in Connecticut. Give her some likes. She'll be back there this year again, as well as at 3 Rivers Con in Pittsburgh and possibly some other events. Heroines Assemble!

Here's Pagliaccia (Gabriel) from Day 1 of Steel City Con.

Solo shots of Heather as Cybrina (queen of cyberspace) at the Con. She was getting accustomed to the idea of walking around in a tight costume, and looked great. Heather is an awesome sci-fi fan - we had an hour-long discussion about The Expanse!

Steel City Con finished up yesterday with two of our actresses - Mesmera and Serpenta - participating in the cosplay contest
judges' panel.

Stacy (Mesmera) judged the kids' costumes. She was in her "Belle" cosplay at the time, but then changed into the Mesmera outfit
for the final three hours of the Con.

Meanwhile, our new actress Jessica (Serpenta) took the stage and did a fantastic job judging the teens and adults. The adult costumes were amazing - a few of them took 300 hours to create! The only Western superhero entries were Lady Venom and Black Manta - every other character was either from manga or video games.

We'll be back at the next Steel City in August, but in the meantime, we've got Cons coming up in Beckley WV (Cause-A-Con),
downtown Pittsburgh (3 Rivers Con), Altoona PA (Sci-Vi Valley), Dayton OH (Gem City Con) and Uncasville CT (Terrificon).
And it looks like we might add a trip to Columbus OH in late May - should know more on that one asap!

The Comicsburgh crew had an exciting weekend in Beckley WV at Causeacon! We participated in two panels, added two new stores (Fama's Comics in Beckley and Third Floor Comics in Nitro) and everyone at our table pretty much sold out of the books we brought.
One guy spent $64 to pick up two copies of every book on the table [one to keep signed, and one to read, apparently].

Lots of new fans made in southern West Virginia for Heroineburgh! (pictured: Marvin of The Edge and Grant of Beowulf).

One of the coolest things was that we had two groups of young cosplaying Con-goers (about a dozen total) show up to our second panel, which was a half-hour showing of Episode 20. Afterwards, all the kids who had seen the episode came back to our table and they bought two thumb drives containing all of Heroineburgh Season 1. True "superfans"!

(pictured below: Marvin of The Edge and Grant of Beowulf chilling at our table. I took the photo.)

and P.S. We are definitely headed out to Columbus Fanboy Expo in the last weekend of May. One of our characters will join the Comicsburgh crew, and we'll find out whom soon. See you in Central Ohio!

A very successful Free Comic Book Day yesterday at New Dimension Comics in Homestead, PA.

Making a strong appearance was the beautiful Vendetta - aka Mauricia, the creator of MusicMakerComix.
Everyone from the "Comicsburgh" crew (including Mauricia, and Marvin of The Edge) did quite well, with multiple interested fans
buying up a package of all seven comics that we had available!

What a fun day yesterday! It was the inaugural Greater Pittsburgh Festival of Books (aka Book Fest), and the "Comicsburgh" group was only one of three tables of comics-related material who were given room to take part. (The other two were New Dimension Comics, who sell Heroineburgh at their shops; and Chutz-Pow! featuring Marcel Walker who does some of our back cover pinups).

Heroineburgh, The Edge (Marvin) and Beowulf (Grant) were joined by our new friend D.P. (Theme of Thieves) and by our lovely Heroineburgh actress Tiffany, who has her own dark historical fantasy novels (she plays Darbouka in our series). We were set up in an upscale mall food court in a complex called Bakery Square, along with about a dozen other book tables. Not only was the book crowd interested, but we caught the attention of many random shoppers coming from the restaurant gallery area. Lots of brand new fans were made, while we tapped a whole new audience.

We recently had "Comicsburgh" team shirts made. Here is Tiffany modeling one in a restroom selfie at the Book Fest.

Then later that night, we hosted a concert across town for a goth band from New York City, and Christina's band opened the show.
As usual, she did an awesome job as the lead singer, and was dressed in one of her most gorgeous outfits which exuded a "1980s" vibe: red top with ruffles and a black cinching belt, very tight shiny black pants, and sexy stiletto heels. For those of you who didn't know yet, Christina is Poderosa (the Latina Powergirl) in our series. She's always on point!

Next Comicon up for Heroineburgh and the Comicsburgh crew is this weekend May 27-29 - Columbus Fanboy Expo downtown at that city's convention center. While we're in town, we're going to try to visit the three comic shops which have carried our comics, and also
the Billy Ireland Museum of comic strip art (which contains our strips from the local newspaper in their archives)..

Guest superheroine for the weekend will be the scorching Sasaya, portraying Hellfyra as she does in the series (Episodes 17 and 19 so far, but she'll be in Episode 21 upcoming). She's in the photo below, on the right.

Hellfyra will be available to sign comics, stickers, posters and publicity photos (we have a couple dozen copies of the photo below from Episode 19, free to be signed with any comic or T-shirt purchase) for all three days. Not sure how many on this forum are in Ohio, but if you're located nearby, please come and visit us at the Con.

Other attractions include Lee Majors, Tia Carrere and Dirk Benedict, and a variety of other panels. I'll post some Con photos in a few days.

Just got back from the debut of Heroineburgh (and Comicsburgh) at Columbus Fanboy Expo. Unfortunately Tia Carrere cancelled. But other than Lee Majors and Dirk Benedict, there were plenty of other celebs: Kane Hodder (the original Jason), Tiffany, all three stars of CHiPs (I was this close to Erik Estrada!), four voice actors from TMNT, three voice actors from Avatar the Last Airbender, the lead voice actress from Encanto, Dave Foley from Kids in the Hall, and quite a few more.

It was a bit under-attended, but we made the best of it, making contacts with regional comics creators such as Columbus' own Mason Easley (got his four-issue run of 'Legend of Azure') and Dayton's Chris Vickers (got his three-issue run of an excellent Fem Force style 'good girl' superheroine comic called 'Red White and Blue' - see the cover of issue #2 below. Chris is a bona fide AC Comics fan!).

We met such consummate comics pros as Tom Nguyen (Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Dynamite etc) and Frank Fosco (Image, etc). In addition to checking on the three Columbus stores which already stock our comic, we added two more: Laughing Ogre and Capital City - thanks so much to Trish and Wes for their help there. So we have very thorough coverage in Columbus..and some direct sales to con-goers and vendors as well.

A time crunch and a huge rain deluge prevented us from having time to visit the Billy Ireland Museum. But we did have an excellent stay in German Village with two amazing restaurants (German and Asian Fusion) on both nights, and on Saturday night I saw a transcendent electronic music concert in Franklinton under the stars, with about 40 other well-informed hipsters.

Here are some of the adventures of our actress Sasaya, who was quite magnificent on the Con floor as Hellfyra, mistress of the flames.

Doctor John Hammond from Jurassic Park 'spared no expense' to meet Hellfyra!

Sasaya looked amazing, and took a fair amount of photos with various Con attendees. We asked them politely to hashtag 'Heroineburgh' if they post it - hopefully some of them will!

Did you know that Columbus has a statue dedicated to Arnold Schwarzenegger? (Apparently he won his very first bodybuilding contest there.) We didn't either. But when we randomly came upon this statue, Sasaya decided to pose in front of it in her civilian attire. A lot of people had the same idea - there was a line of tourists waiting to do the same!

Here is the very fun comic 'Red White and Blue', which is about three beautiful super-powered young ladies in tight spandex costumes saving the day and having various adventures fighting supervillains and scary monsters. The creator is Dayton Ohio's Chris Vickers, and we had a discussion about our mutual enjoyment of FemForce and AC Comics. The comic is advertised as 'good girl art' and it delivers. Here's the cover of Issue #2 - the girls are on a swimsuit shoot when they are attacked from the sea!

3 Rivers Comicon 2022 kicked off in grand style at the Downtown Pittsburgh Convention Center today.

It was a very well-attended first day, with lots of great special guests including comics legend Howard Chaykin, Roland Mann of the esteemed Silverline Comics, Dan Mendoza of Zombie Tramp, and many more.

Participaing in a "Script to Store" panel about the making and marketing of comic books were Marvin Wynn (The Edge), Mauricia Malveaux (Music Maker Comix, aka Vendetta of Heroineburgh), Ted Sikora (Bloom, Tap Dance Killer & Hero Tomorrow Comics),
Caleb Thusat (Village Comics), Vito Delsante (Stray) and Roland Mann of Silverline. The panel was also moderated by Jeremiah, who
played a "hipster thief" in Episode 19 of Heroineburgh.

Over at the Comicsburgh / Heroineburgh table, Marvin from The Edge and Mauricia of MusicMaker sold a good amount of books, and many new fans picked up Heroineburgh Comics issues #1 and #2.

We were able to capture many lovely photos of the three Heroineburgh actresses who made themselves available for autographs
and photo opportunities. Here's the powerful triumvirate of Dark Spectra (Erika), Vendetta (Mauricia) and Arctica (Bridget).

Day 2 of 3 Rivers Comicon brought just as many new customers to the Comicsburgh table to check out Heroineburgh, The Edge,
and Tiffany Apan (her dark historical fantasy novel).

The Con featured many great booths from important indie comics companies such as Aftershock, Source Point, Silverline
and Hero Tomorrow. We met a couple of comics artists who might have a future in doing some interior art for Heroineburgh - we'll see how they stack up.

We had an extra-powerful contingent of heroines and villainesses for Day 2, and this was very well noticed by the Comicon crowd, as many of them stopped to take pictures of our group of lovely actresses. Hopefully some of the photos will end up with the "Heroineburgh" hashtag so we can find them on FB and IG.

Here's our photo session from Day 2.

From left to right: Stellara (Ruby), Darbouka (Tiffany), Lunessa (Indigo), and Serpenta (Jessica).
They had a lot of fun posing for this group shot - it was hard to pick which image to use!

Also, I put together a nice transformation sequence from 3 Rivers Comicon using Tiffany's photos from when she was putting on the costume and a shot from the Heroineburgh publicity shoot.

First, she puts on her tight form-fitting black costume underneath. Then she dons the cape and cloak, And finally, she adds the black mask and gloves and boots, completing her look as the mysterious Darbouka, mistress of sonic waves.

Can we present a Muslim female character who is strong, confident and modern, yet undeniably beautiful and sexy? You bet we can!

Agreed! Being from Indonesia, Jess has a gorgeous accent, and will be doing a lot of hissssing and rolling her "r"s in her dialogue
during her first shoot coming up in July. We have added a cute gold "snake bracelet" to her costume, which she can unravel and
manipulate to demonstrate her reptilian control. And as I mentioned, we'll be adding elements that will allow her to embody the spirit of the Naga snake goddess. She really is like a Filipino Television, Power Rangers-styled supervillainess come to life, from the annals of our friend Red Five!

So, by your command, here are more Serpenta photos.

Great sexy covers, Batgirl1969! I suggest you do Black Cat. We need more representation for her tight costume and fur collars.
I see a lot less of Felicia than I do of Selene and Harley at Comicons.
Literaly saw about ten Mary Janes at the Con this past weekend, several Spider-Gwens, a Starlight, and even a Silver Sable (she was a gray-haired woman in her 60s, and looked amazing. Wish I'd taken a photo). But no Black Cats at all.

So, that's a good segue to mention that Comicsburgh (Heroineburgh, The Edge, Beowulf, and MusicMaker) was vending this past weekend in Altoona PA at Sci-Fi Valley Con, a mid-size pop-culture convention which had a ton of great vendors, some good voice actor guests, and a nice lineup of panels (including a showing of Heroineburgh Episode 20 on Saturday at 2 pm. We had six very attentive viewers who stayed all the way through the half-hour episode and asked some great questions!).

On Friday evening, we met the cosplay repair table called Snowtiger Designs, run by an amazing woman named Krissy.
We hired her to spruce up the "V" logo of our superheroine Vendetta (played by Mauricia, who is also the writer of MusicMaker).
So on Friday, she sprayed the logo with a base of gold paint, and then "fixed" the paint into place the following day with a special
coat of fixer. We're posting the great "logo reveal" on Youtube, but here are a couple of photos of Vendetta with her new shiny logo,
and then posing near the Con entrance.

Lots of comic book sales were made (Mauricia sold out of her book, and Marvin of The Edge sold out of two of his four issues).
Vendetta also signed several publicity photos for fans who purchased the book.

We had a great time at Sci-Fi Valley, and we'll be back next year..possibly arriving one day earlier so that we can spend some time at the DelGrosso Amusement Park (owned and operated by the proprietors of DelGrosso spaghetti sauce!).

Next up in Con Land: Waynesburg PA July 9; Dayton Ohio July 23-24; and then Terrificon in Connecticut! (attention IMSancho)

If I make it down there it will be Friday. Next month I’m starting a job that requires work on Saturday and Sunday. I’ve been hoping to get this kind of job for 3 1/2 years so I’m not complaining. My life is going through some pretty big changes now, mostly good ones.

The summer's packed Con season continues, and just wanted to announce that there are other great Cons happening this weekend other than the huge SDCC (congratulations to Billy and Deb Tucci of SHI / Crusade Comics for being on *three* panels in San Diego!).

The Comicsburgh crew (including Heroineburgh) will be making its first appearance at Gem City Con in Dayton Ohio this weekend,
Sat July 23 and Sun July 24. Beautiful actress Sasaya will be with us as the blazing-hot superheroine Hellfyra (autographed
photos available).

Also, while you're there, search out creators like Dan Mendoza from Zombie Tramp / Still Ill Princess Studios, Don Simpson from Megaton Man / Bizarre Heroes, and many more. Featured guests include the likes of Darryl Banks and Bill McKay (who draws some of the sexiest art you'll ever see).

So..here's how Gem City Comicon went:

- Saturday was rather underattended. Not sure why that was. This convention was well publicized. There was also very little solid cosplay on the first day (I mean, there were many cosplayers, but their game was weak). Had they held a contest on Saturday, there was only *one* costume which deserved to win: a very complex bird-on-stilts character which I believe was something from anime (but I didn't get to find out).

Since we didn't get many sales on Saturday, we spent a lot of time building connections - making friends with most of the vendors around us, and noticing one important thing: this Con was absolutely *packed* with creators! There were few crafts and jewelry type booths like you see at some Cons. Almost everyone was promoting a comic book, or a sci-fi novel, or an entire comic book company...there were also a ton of individual artist booths with great selections of art and self-published titles. If someone had gone around and bought all of these titles, they could have opened their own indie comic store somewhere! In addition, there were about a dozen comic dealers with tons of back issue boxes.

Another thing we spent Saturday doing was following up on the phone calls we made several days earlier to the Dayton-area comic shops to let them know we were coming. Everyone told us to check back with them on Sunday, and this paid off handsomely (see below).

I bought a handful of interesting comics:
-One of the better ones was from a Raleigh NC company called Essential Comics, run by "Coach" and his wife "Toi". They did a comic book re-imagining Butterfly (which savvy comics fans known as the first black female superheroine back in 1971, very sexy for her time).
-A black-and-white comic about a character called Scarlet Huntress by Sean Forney of Savage Mind Comics. It reminded me of a Zenescope book because she looks a bit like the Zenescope character "Robyn" (the female Robin Hood) but in red costume instead of green.
- "All Out Pooh": The Secret Apoocalpyse Crisis War of Infinite Poohs - the latest in the parody series by legendary artist Marat Mychaels (I'm a fan).
- "Altered Ego" #1, a story about a social-media star named "Sue Pahiro" who wants to be a..you guessed it.
- A limited edition collaborative superhero comic between Bill Messner Loebs and Don Simpson called "Victory Folks", which reactivates various
Golden-Age superheroines like Atoma and Fantomah.
Got 'em all signed!

We finished off Saturday by having a good time in downtown Dayton - going out with some regional creators and eating at a great restaurant called the Troll Bar (statues of Trolls outside). Then playing pinball and video games at a local Barcade, and briefly checking out the Oregon District entertainment area.

- Sunday totally bounced back. It looked like more than triple the crowd compared to Saturday, and there was lots more good cosplay, finally (my favorite? a contigent of three awesome Judges, including a Judge Anderson. Threatening everyone with 20 years in the iso-cubes if they misbehave!) We sold about 15 books to the Con audience, and Hellfyra signed a dozen photos. Finally, we consummated sales with four Dayton-area comic shops, stocking a total of *32 books* in those four stores. Three of them dealt with us directly, at the Con. A new record for us!

We talked for a bit with both Darryl Banks (just like our cover artist Jason Wright, Banks is known for having worked a lot with Green Lantern)
and Bill McKay (checking out the images for his own super-sexy bad-girl character, Kim the Delusional - crowdfund campaign to be launched this fall). Both were very nice and willing to discuss their projects at length.

The last store was one that we personally visited about an hour after the Con closed, about 20 minutes northwest of Dayton.
The owners (two brothers) were super nice, and showed us a large collection of very well-slabbed collectors items, including various comics signed by Stan Lee, and we heard some great stories, including how they witnessed (back in 2016) Stan Lee marry the owner of a Columbus comic shop to his fiancee at the end of the duration of a packed panel in Cincinnati. Apparently, it also made the local news: https://www.nbc4i.com/news/local-news/c ... r-wedding/

Sasaya (as Hellfyra) did an excellent job bringing people to the booth in her lovely red-and-black spandex.. She is an amazing visual artist herself, bringing along a whole book of drawings, and (fingers crossed) she *may* have garnered her first comic book commission for a cover for one of the creators we met! (we'll see if that pans out). This is our third convention with her, and she is always very wonderful and helpful, and has incredibly good taste in music, literature and mythology. Here she is below. Off to Connecticut next week for Terrificon!

I've recovered enough to present a Terrificon wrap-up from this past weekend.

Our second foray into the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut was successful. Even thought it cost a bit in terms of driving time and gas to do it, we kept our costs down with excellent cheap lodging in a nearby Airbnb (instead of the very expensive casino hotel) which came with free dinners each night at the local pub. Downtown Norwich is a dead zone - there's no crime or anything; it's just really vacant, but the harbor is nice.

Displaying our wares and strutting their stuff were Arctica, mistress of the deep freeze (aka Bridget) and Pagliaccia, clown princess of fear (aka Gabriel). These two ladies are big movie and pop-culture nerds, so we always had lively discussions. And they looked incredible in their costumes - they probably took over 50 photo ops with various fans. They really did a fantastic job working the corners, strolling the aisles, attracting new fans to the booth, and autographing photos.

We sold about two dozen Heroineburgh titles to the attending crowd, and also another two dozen books to regional stores. If you live anywhere near
Tales of Adventures (Coopersburg PA), Richie's Comic Cabana (Waterbury, CT) or Harrison's Comics (Salem, MA) make it your mission to track down a Heroineburgh comic. Our Comicsburgh table partner Marvin (The Edge Comics) did about twice as well, selling over 50 books total (he had four-issue sets to offer).

As the laptop ran for about three hours each day before the battery wound down (and we charged it, thanks to a nearby booth), a lot of passersby caught glimpses of the latest Heroineburgh episodes on video, and some were inspired to stop and watch a bit more, especially the segments with Arctica and Pagliaccia. One of our esteemed guests is the producer of the Heroine Power fetish videos - it was great to meet him and his son.

Here are some highlights from Terrificon:

More photos from Terrificon:

Billy Tucci and Nile Scala from the POPXP Youtube channel, where I moderate in the chat.
They were in good spirits early on. It was the first time I'd met Nile (a Connecticut native).
I brought a few comics creators (the Con was jammed full of indie comic creators!) over to Nile to sign up for an interview slot on POPXP.
On Friday night, we had a 'cigar-smoking' get-together on the hotel's back patio meeting some of Billy's fans from his Youtube chats.
Everyone was very nice, and excited about more new comics from Shi.

The Orville panel. Turns out only Adrianne Palicki (Kelly) and Peter Macon (Bortus) showed up, but they were great.
I got to ask two questions:
- for Macon, I asked what he thought about the chances for the redemption of the entire Moclan race, given their expulsion from the Union.
- for Palicki, I praised her work as Wonder Woman, Lady Jaye, and Mockingbird, and wondered if she had any inklings of any possible superheroine roles coming up. She said she would love to be asked, and wants to play Mockingbird some more. An extremely beautiful and confident woman! She had $50 Bobbi Morse 8x10s to sign but that was a bit rich for my blood given that our sales were just so-so.

Near the end of Sunday, I was able to talk with Jim Shooter once his endless signing line slowed down. We talked a bit about his boyhood in Pittsburgh in the 1960s, and the early comic shop in Pittsburgh that both he and I shopped at in Pittsburgh's North Side. After doing freelance work while living in Pittsburgh, he left us in 1975 for a full-time editor position at DC Comics. Later, of course, he took over the position at Marvel which Stan Lee had previously. Mr. Shooter now has Heroineburgh issues #1 and #2 in his collection!

There was a big dedication to Neal Adams and George Perez in the entrance hall, since both of them passed this year.
We ended the Sunday with Pagliaccia and Arctica posed in conflict in front of George Perez's legendary Wonder Woman cover.
I hope to think that George would have loved us carrying on the tradition of superheroines in spandex and capes!

One more look back at Terrificon in Connecticut, thanks to some great photos by Bridget (Arctica) and Gabriel (Pagliaccia).
They were regularly roaming around the convention floor looking to talk up Heroineburgh, and met a bunch of interesting folks and cosplayers.

Thanks Lurkndog - much appreciated!

And now it's time once again for Steel City Con, which happens three times a year.
This weekend, the big headliners are John Carpenter and Zachary Levi (Shazam).
But there are also a couple of classic superheroine hotties: Alicia Silverstone (aka 'Batgirl1997') and Kristanna Loken (Bloodrayne, Painkiller Jane, T3). And could you miss meeting Bronson Pinchot? Balki Bartokomous says don't be ridiculous! :)

But anyway, Comicsburgh will be in full effect once again with Heroineburgh and The Edge all weekend in Vendors Hall (plus our artist Wayne Brown in Artist Alley). MusicmakerComix (created by our actress Vendetta) joins us on Saturday, and author Tiffany Apan (as Darbouka) will be there on Sunday.

Plus, the following additional heroines:
Saturday - Arctica and Mesmera.
Sunday - Peccadilla and Savanna. (all three Sunday heroines will also be judges for the k*ds, t**ns, and adult cosplay contests)
And most of the actresses will have signed photos available for anyone who purchases a comic or other merchandise item!

See you in historic Monroeville! (Con reports will follow shortly)

Steel City Con August 2022 in Monroeville PA, first 2 days:

Zachary Levi was there, so there was a meeting of the Marys (at least four Mary Marvel cosplayers).
This one was by far the hottest. She's from Mexico. I had to get a photo, and she was super nice about it.

On to the Heroineburgh action. Unfortunately, our actresses on Day 1 couldn't make their commitments, but we still sold a dozen books
which is more than fine for Fridays, which are normally slow.

Day 2 was much more exciting. Arctica (Bridget), Vendetta (Mauricia) and Mesmera (Stacy) were all at our table for long periods of time, and also
walked around the Con attracting photo ops. Mauricia also sold all the copies of her MusicMaker comic that she brought (as well as being a great actress, she is part of our comics creator group, Comicsburgh). We sold about 25 books.

We asked Kristanna Loken to do a very short clip with Vendetta, but after asking her agent, she declined because apparently it would be considered "endorsement" (it was fine when Barbara Eden did it last year, but she didn't have a Con handler). So we settled for a stunning photo with her holding our Painkiller Jane action figure - she had never seen it before, but she did confirm being a fan of the work of Jimmy Palmiotti, so she definitely had a complete familiarity with the character she played in that TV series.

Looking forward to tomorrow (Sunday) when three of our Heroineburgh characters will not only appear at our table, but will also be judges on the panels for the three cosplay contests!

Happy you had a good time, Sancho.

Here's what went down on the final day of Steel City Con.

We had Peccadilla (Ana), Savanna (amazing gorgeous new actress Jasmine), and Darbouka (Tiffany) at our table throughout the afternoon.
All three of them were cosplay judges in the three cosplay contests.
One of the winners of the adult cosplay contest was a comedian who dressed up as an NPC with a sign that said "Press X to Talk".
He never broke character until he had to talk directly with the judges, and he had the whole room (several hundred people) on his side,
chanting "NPC! NPC! NPC!". It was pretty hilarious.
Another winner (the "host pick") was a Solomon Grundy cosplayer who also never broke character: the whole time he only said the seven sentences
that Grundy is supposed to say ("buried on Sunday", "married on Wednesday", etc) and grunted a bit here and there like Frankstein.

Here are Savanna and Darbouka doing their judging thing.

Everyone at the Con had a fantastic experience meeting her and taking tons of photos! (her previous experience as a model made her at ease)
She signed some publicity photos for those who purchased the newly released Heroineburgh Comics issue #3 (soon to be available on our site,
and in many comic shops).

Also (and this was unexpected) Jasmine is an amazing sketch artist, and she drew a great picture of herself as Savanna (unfortunately, I forgot to get a photo of it, but I'll have her send me one). She may very well have a back cover pinup for the comic in her near future! And not only that, she's a great cosplayer and costume maker as well, and will start out by repairing one of our costumes for next week.

And speaking of back cover pinups, we spoke to *the most prolific Pittsburgh artist working in comics today* about doing a pinup for us for Issue 4
(hint: our cover artist, DC Comics colorist Jason Wright, is only the *second* most prolific). Signs are hopeful that after some negotiation we should able to pull that off - can't wait!

Next up is the Comicsburgh Day on Fri Sep 2 at new area comic shop K & J Comics. Report coming soon on that, but here's the preview:

Heroineburgh will be joining our #comicsburgh friends The Edge, Beowulf, Musicmakercomix and Incubator Productions on Fri Sep 2 from 4:30 to 9 pm at K&J Comics and Games, 1017 West View Park Drive in West View Plaza. Grab a copy of the brand-new Issue #3 and meet Vendetta, Chlorina and Pagliaccia for photos!

Today was Comicsburgh Day at K&J Comics in West View, just north of Pittsburgh.
That's right, a brand-new comic book shop opened up in our city, whereas in some other areas they seem to be shutting down.

Good news for the market here, and good news for local comics publications Heroineburgh, The Edge, and Monarch Comics (Beowulf and Memoirs of
the Morbid), which are all now represented on the shelves of K&J Comics.

This evening, the supervillainess Chlorina (Jessica Z) was kept busy taking photos and doing her very first signature session.

Here is the mistress of toxins, posing with the owners of the shop, Karl and Julie (hence, K and J).

Chlorina is a classic villainess come to life: a criminal blonde bombshell in her tight and shiny blue outfit, with the power to knock out anyone with a touch of her toxins, or control their minds with a dose of hypnotic gas. She's a diabolical human chloroform machine!

Well, well. I suppose it's only fitting that with the imminent release of Heroineburgh Comics issue #3 that we have not one, not two, but *three*
release events. The final one (before the comic goes worldwide - it's already in six stores in Pittsburgh and one in Hanover, PA) is going to be this
coming weekend: Sat Sep 10 at a club venue called "Spirit". They are holding their annual "Summer Recess" bash signifying the end of the summer
season, which will feature a dozen bands playing on two outdoor stages, lots of vendors outside under a big tent, and some more festivities (as well as drinks and pizza and tacos, etc) inside the building (we filmed a large part of upcoming Episode 21 in the second floor of the venue!).

Comicsburgh (i.e. The Edge and Heroineburgh) will be one of the vendors in the big tent.
We'll be there from approximately 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm, and our brand-new actress Casey W will be making her live debut as Devana, the Slavic
Huntress. She can't wait to sign lots of comics (Devana is in issues 2 and 3) as well as pose for photos. She'll be amazing in upcoming Season 3!

I'll post some photos of the event after it takes place. Here's the promo graphic:

Wow, Casey W did amazing today in her live debut as Devana. She is one of the most stunning actresses we've ever had in the series. The confident transformation when she puts on the costume and the makeup is astounding. Plus, she is already a big fan of Xena so that helps with her character.

Walking around, many attendees at the "Summer Recess" festival (food, drinks, bands, vendors, other activities) thought that she
was one of the amateur wrestlers who were part of a demo event, but she quickly corrected them of that notion and introduced
them to the world of Pittsburgh superheroines. We sold several runs of comics, and Casey signed the back cover pinup of issue #3 with a
heartfelt "Love, Devana."

Here she is, posing and flexing her guns in front of the new mural on the side of the venue.

Still editing Episode 21, but before we get over to Baltimore Comicon at the end of the month, here's a fantastic montage
from our lovely actress Jessica B who plays Serpenta. She was a judge for the adult cosplay contest at Steel City Con in August,
and while she was on stage her devoted husband (yep, sorry guys!) took lots of video shots of the contestants and her reactions.
This is the result, posted on Jessica's Instagram today.

Viva Serpenta!

And we've got a Comicon appearance clip we didn't put up yet, from back in August at WV Pop Con.
Welcome to the vivacious Jasmine, who will be playing the ferocious feline fury Savanna all through Season 3!
(Her first taping is Mon Nov 7, where she will be wearing not just one, but *two* gorgeous tight costumes. Hints on that will be coming soon.)

2022 Comicon season continues! This upcoming weekend Oct 28-30, Heroineburgh will be at Baltimore Comic-Con along with our friend
Marvin from The Edge comics. Also joining our 'Comicsburgh' crew at booth #C8 will be the stunning redhead Bridget, portraying Arctica,
the mistress of the deep freeze. She'll be sporting a brand-new pair of thigh-high boots, ready to sign your Heroineburgh comics (she's in Issues #1 and #3) and her color publicity photos, suitable for framing.

Who else will be in Baltimore?
How about Jim Lee, Frank Miller, Howard Chaykin, Frank Cho, Terry Dodson, Garth Ennis, Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez, Mike Grell, Brian Haberlin, Cully Hamner, Klaus Janson, Tom King, Joseph Michael Linsner, Ron Marz, Adriana Melo, Al Milgrom, Terry Moore, Fabian Nicieza, Ann Nocenti, Jerry Ordway, Liam Sharp, Louise & Walter Simonson, Jim Starlin, Billy Tucci, Lee Weeks, Keith Williams, and many more. Chances are, your favorite comic artist will be there!

We can't wait to see you and make new fans at Baltimore Comic-Con. We'll be posting Comicon photos and vids on our social media, plus also revealing a brand-new costume for Bridget's new alternate persona after she is exposed to 'drainium' (to debut in Episode 22), all from our comfy Airbnb located only six blocks from the Con.

Adventure awaits!

Wow! We had the best Friday at a Comicon ever.

Four more retailers are now stocking Heroineburgh: Comic Logic (Ashburn, VA); Cloud 9 (Portland, OR) and Silver Age Comics (Queens, NY) plus online retailer OK Comics (from the Comic Book Shopping Network Facebook group). Also, we're looking forward to hearing from the largest comic store chain the Midwest (some of you might know the name) in a couple weeks after dropping off books for them.

Meanwhile, Arctica (portrayed by Bridget) prowled the aisles, with her long flowing cape, shiny silver spandex, and new more comfortable thigh-high boots. She brought a dozen new fans to the table to try out our comics, and recorded a short promo in front of the gate to Artist Alley:

Bridget's cousin made her a very cute Arctica macrame doll. Not for sale, but Bridget takes it with her to all the Cons.

We also found a wall of leaves (reminiscent of a Poison Ivy set) which was a great place for Arctica to strike a confident pose:
"Oh no..I sense danger! Better spring into action!"

And finally, I got some autographs on some comic book with great sexy characters. From left to right are: Ann Nocenti's signature on the Typhoid Mary TPB (Marvel); Frank Cho's autograph on Jungle Girl #1 (Dynamite); and Billy Tucci's signature on the Miss Fury TPB (also on Dynamite).

Saturday will involve trying to sell a lot more books to the packed throng of attendees, and on Sunday, Bridget will help introduce a brand-new character...well, actually it's the 'alternate' version of Arctica - what she'll transform into when exposed to the meteorite known as "Drainium".

2nd day (Saturday) of Baltimore Comic-Con.

Arctica (Bridget) continued to be a great asset in selling books at our Comicsburgh booth, and we added another two stores to our roster.

us to make the connection between the show and the comics.

Aaaaaand....that's a wrap for Baltimore Comic-Con this year. We're now home safe and sound back in Pittsburgh, but here's how things went on the final day:

We added another two stores to the long list of 210+ comic retailers stocking Heroineburgh. So many nice and generous knowledgeable comic merchants in one place. We planted the seeds for a three-store weekend signing tour in spring 2023 - hopefully in PA, MD and VA.

The big surprise from Heroineburgh was the debut reveal of the new character....or rather, the alternate persona of superheroine Arctica. Instead of her usual cryogenic powers, under the influence of the mineral Drainium (kind of our version of the unpredictable effects of Red Kryptonite), the good Doctor Greta Bjornsdottir (played by Bridget) temporarily becomes Quanta, the Queen of Quantum Physics!

Here's how we explain the vast extent of her powers: she can alter the probability of events in an area surrounding her, bending reality to her best advantage. She can channel the good-luck powers of a character like Marvel's Domino with a single snap of her fingers, like Thanos.

But the big question: is Quanta on the side of good, or has she become evil? Or maybe something in-between? Time will tell as Bridget debuts the character next year in Episode 22 battling Chlorina, the Toxic Titaness.

In the meantime, here are some photos from Sunday.

Bridget tests out the costume in the changing area. Looking good!

Back at the booth, Bridget attracts customers in the beautiful new Quanta costume. We sold some more books to the throngs, and someone gave us a compliment by saying that Quanta reminded him of a character from Invincible! (We expressed to him our undying love for Atom Eve. Redheads unite!)

At our Airbnb on Sunday morning, we taped an introductory video for Quanta. Another great clip for the Heroineburgh Youtube channel!

I picked up a couple of interesting comics: Water Wars #1-4 (a book about an apocalyptic United States where corporations fight wars over the precious water resource, featuring a beautiful female protagonist), Startup #1 (a book about a 300-pound woman who becomes a slim and sexy speedster named Startup)...and Latex Avengers: Wrath of Con, a book about a superhero and his sidekick who use the power of condoms in sexy adventures at a Comicon. It has the same kind of style of humor as The Tick - there's a heroine in a tight cat costume called "Text Kitten" (get it? instead of Sex Kitten) who talks entirely in text phrases like "CU LTR" and "OMG ROTFLOL".

What's next for us? You don't have long to wait, as we'll be joining the Comicsburgh crew at Akron Comicon (Akron, Ohio) this weekend Nov 5-6.
The powerful and mighty Slavic warrior goddess Devana (portrayed by Casey) will be there to take photos and sign comics. And don't miss our
Pittsburgh creators panel (Heroineburgh, The Edge, Beowulf, and Casey herself) on Saturday at 11 am in the panel room.

Lots of other great regional creators will be in attendance, as well as comics superstars like Ron Frenz and Tony Isabella (Black Lightning).
Hope to see some new fans there, and we'll report back in a few days!

Day 1 of Akron Comicon is over. Sold a lot of comics to new fans, including 6 runs of #1-#3, and stocked at least one new store with #3. Looking forward to getting answers from a couple more new stores tomorrow.

The day started out early with a Comicsburgh (Pittsburgh creators) panel featuring Casey as Devana (from Heroineburgh), Marvin from the Edge,
and Grant from Monarch Comics (Beowulf/Memoirs of the Morbid).

Then Casey did a promo video for Youtube, and we spent the day selling comics. Casey signed her color publicity photos, and also the back cover of Heroineburgh Comics #3 (pinup art by Pittsburgh comics legend Don Simpson).

Later on we attended a panel on comics creation from our Akron-based friend Ted Sikora, creator of the comic book "Bloom". Our actress Alicia (who plays the supervillainess Sintilla) is also the cosplay model for the main character of "Bloom".

Casey took quite a few shots for the cellphones of passersby, and also a few action poses with various characters such as this Jedi Knight.
She is tall, muscular, athletic, and gorgeous - perfect to portray the character of the Serbian huntress (essentially a Slavic version of Xena)
wielding her mighty bo staff. And we are lucky to have her.

Final day of Akron Comicon.

We got books into yet another new store in Mentor, Ohio. The owners of the Comicon also placed our issue #3s in their two stores in Akron
and Barberton.

Meanwhile, Devana (Casey) sold out of her signed photos, which meant that we sold TEN runs of #1-#3 to various new customers, while also helping to selling many copies of The Edge (Marvin's book) as well. Grant also did well with his book Beowulf, furthering the valiant efforts of the Comicsburgh triumvirate.

Casey took some extra shots in the panel room - not only is she beautiful and strong, but the background is perfect. We can't wait to film with her tomorrow (Mon Nov 7 is the first EP22 shoot for Season 3) and bring her along to more great Comicons: Steel City Con is in December, so we'll see you then!

Well, at least we were finally at the same Con. :) Wish you'd stopped by to say hi. But we'll most likely be back there next year.

New Heroineburgh phenomenon - fans taking their photos with our actress and (finally!!) tagging us into the photo.
(We've always had lots of photos taken, but people mostly forget to hashtag them even though I ask them to.)

A new fan in Ohio - Denny Wilson - posted a photo with Devana (Casey) today from the Akron Con this past weekend.
Just wait 'til you see whom Casey filmed with tonight for Episode 22!

:lynda1: Last event of the 2022 Comicon season: Steel City Con in world-famous Monroeville, PA (site of 'Day of the Dead').

Catching up on the first two days:

Finally, this packed Comicon has the zombie tradition presence it should have always had! Tom Savini had a booth for the first time (I didn't get to talk with him yet, but I might do so tomorrow). And the George Romero Foundation had its own booth as well. Nice to see.

But the packed crowd itself (Saturday was sold out!) wasn't there this time for the zombie craze: they were there for The Undertaker, Chevy Chase, the Cobra Kai panel (William Zabka aka Johnny + 3 more) and the panel of Hobbits (Elijah Wood + 3 more), among other things. And of course, a small but nice draw for Heroineburgh: our actresses actually drew some of their friends to buy the comics!

Slight mishap on day one, as Mauricia's job made her work several hours longer than she thought, and Gabriel's dog got injured that morning.
So we didn't have Vendetta and Pagliaccia on Friday. Marvin and I made the best of it, and we actually had a bunch of sales first thing in the morning, with new people buying several runs of #1-#3. Then there was a long lull.

Photos from Day 1:

Our interior artist Wayne Brown at his booth. He did well enough to cover his table rental on the first day!
Some may notice the sexy She-Hulk posters he has for sale: very much an homage to John Byrne.

On Day 2, things stepped up a notch, as the crowd was crazy for the first five hours or so (single-day tickets sold out).
For a while, it was so packed that it was hard to get people to stop and engage with our booth (they were also single-mindedly heading to get
expensive autographs at $150 a pop, or more).
But then in the early afternoon, we got a bunch of sales in a row, including some of the aforementioned friends of the actresses.

We had Jessica Z (Chlorina) from noon to 3 as Chlorina, the titaness of toxxxins. She really threw herself into the role enthusiastically, posing for many photos for passersby. With her new blonde bob wig, shiny blue suit, and black tights, she looked very cute. Jess will debut in our next episode 22, and will be doing her first shoot this Sunday! (Check the ongoing Heroineburgh Season 3 thread for a report)

Bridget (Arctica) was with us from 2 pm to 6 pm. During the overlap, we took some nice photos and a video clip. Bridget is a veteran at this now, and just an absolute knockout in her silver costume. She'll also be shooting with Jess Z this Sunday, with the debut of her alternate "Drainium" (our red kryptonite) identity, Quanta the queen of quantum physics.

The 2022 Comicon Season ended with Day 3 of Steel City Con.

Savanna (Jasmine), Cybrina (Heather) and Devana (Casey) were all in full force today.
Each one served as a judge for the three separate categories of the cosplay contests.
And when they weren't onstage, they were walking around passing out flyers for our Episode 21 premiere at Parkway Theater,
and posing for photos at our booth while signing comic books and autographing 8 x 10's.

Here are some lovely shots of our superheroines both solo and in the group. We had such a great time today, and also got some more sales.

However, there is a good chance that we won't be back at Steel City Con in the spring, because the date was moved from mid-April to late March,
and that coincides with our desire to vend in Chicago for the first time at C2E2 (a really big convention for indie creators).
We'll have to see what happens, but if we can be in Chicago in March, we will!

On with the photos:

Farewell to 2022, but we're not done yet: the EP21 premiere event is on Wednesday, and then we have two more shoots in December.
Heroineburgh never sleeps!
