Einstein's riddle
Suppose that on a street there are five houses of different colors and in each house lives a person of different nationality. Thus, the five owners, each with their own peculiarities, drink different kinds of beverages, smoke different brands of cigarettes, and each has a pet different from the others. The riddle question is: Who owns the fish?
1. The Englishman lives in the red house.
2. The Swede has a dog as a pet.
3. The Dane drinks tea.
4. The Norwegian lives in the first house.

the position X1 is of the train number 1, X2 respectively, Xo the initial position of the bird and taking as origin of coordinates the station number 1.
X1= 60.t
X2=1200 -40.t
The distance traveled by the bird is modulus [Xp -Xo] = [30.t], (the statement assumes that it does not lose time if it changes direction).
It doesn't matter where the bird leaves from at 100 miles, 400 etc., it doesn't matter the direction either.
60.t=1200 -40.t
100.t=1200
t=12 hours

The problem has too much information. That's the trick.

Doesn't matter where the bird flies. In a circle, in a straight line, between the two trains. The trains impact at time T. so 1200=60T+40T. Solve for T and its 12 seconds. Bird travels 30mph so 12*30=360 miles. This is a too much information problem.
