Guys we aren't on here 24/7, we dont live here, we do what we can when we can.. The fact a post may have been up un - challenged for 16 hours doesnt mean we have given it tacit approval it just means either it hasnt been seen due to absence, or if we were on just hadnt got to reading it yet, or in some cases hadnt decided what to do about it.
But rather than shoot back (which stirs it all up) I would advocate REPORTING the post. So did you Bert ? Or anyone else? If so I didnt see it.
As for my Putin post in the Cheer us up thread, it was a statement, that I found amusing and thought others would too.
Offending the man, and any of his supporters when he's threatening to nuke me and destroy the free world was pretty low on my list of concerns to be honest.
How strange are the ways of the gods ...........and how cruel.

I am here to help one and all enjoy this site, so if you have any questions or feel you are being trolled please contact me (Hit the 'CONTACT' little speech bubble below my Avatar).

I suspect actions have been taking place behind the scenes. For some time now, Mr.X and Dazzle1 have been much less inclined to insert their political views, although both continue to post. My guess is they were contacted privately and read the riot act. Time will tell, but the same has likely now happened with shevek.
No I stopped because posters retaliated against me by trying to convince people to not join my site and called me racist and a white supremacist over simple discussions.

I was not read some riot act.
I said "I suspect" and "I guess". The timing of you backing off coincided with a pretty intense discussion over politics on the site, so it was a reasonable assumption.

Bill Cosby did a lot for comedy. Does that make him beyond criticism? What about Lance Armstrong? Your statement makes no sense.
So I sexually harassed 60 women? I used drugs? I somehow cheated?
Don't be an idiot. My point, obviously, is that a person's accomplishments should not make them above criticism.

You poor thing. I certainly didn't like being called a racist. By you.

Dude, not only did you call me a racist but when I complained about it you told me it was for my own good. Perhaps this new you isn't as acquainted with the old one as you believe.

By all means present me with a quote. This sounds like that critic guy who was on the site calling people racist. Maybe he did that to you and you're confusing us. This is kind of pointless without a link.

The reason I disagree is because I know the word racist has special meaning. I don't use it lightly.
Bert

I'm not going to try to figure out which thread from a year ago contains the accusation, but I will dox myself by quoting from my own PM to a moderator at the time.

"The sonofabitch called me a racist and then had the fucking gall to say he did it for my own benefit."

If you don't believe that is an actual direct quote from me to a mod, PM me and I'll give you the mod's name and you can verify it with him. The conversation with the mod took place because he (rightly I suppose, in retrospect) deleted my reply to you at the time. It wasn't very nice.

Could it be this post where I pointed out you stereotyped the massage parlor killer as a "white boy"? YOU then implied I called you a racist. I was pointing out people were stereotyping this killer along racial lines as well as others.

You fly off the handle at a lot of things. Covid, America, Trump.. yes I have a hard time thinking you didn't mix your own story into this.

Perhaps we get back to the Topic at Hand. Will there actually be another season of The Boys? Any idea when it'll drop?

That's rich, coming from you. You're the one who was pissed off about being called a laundry list of bad things, but I hadn't called you any of those things. It was other people. Project much?

3rd season will be out on June 3
''Diabolical", the cartoon spin-off is already out. Couple interesting episodes, but I wouldn't say "that's a mandatory watch"

An opportunity was missed in not calling the third series "Boys Boys Boys".

Perhaps they 4th series can be called "Boys Boys Boys 2 : I'm Still Looking For A Good Time"

Isn't she in her 50s now ? Good filters and/or plastic surgeons i guess ... https://www.instagram.com/sabrinasalernofficial

I remember one of her many performances on TV where she started with a very short skirt, then removed it in the middle of the song... I was like oh man, her body shape looks exactly as the superheroines from the sexiest comic books ! Found the video on the tube:

There is no second thread as of yet. MH has gotten very busy. Also, things have calmed down for now.

Wow Episode 6 was great.
Spoiler
Homelander has got the be running scared at this point. Up until now we have not seen any feats of strength from him so we don't know how strong he is. This fight showed that 3 supers could take him. If Starlight had joined in they could have finished him off. Plus Soldier Boy is a trained fighter unlike Homelander who is probably all fists and elbows. Also shows the strength of the new V if it can level Butcher to Homelander's weight league.

Yes EP6 was a pretty decent on-screen version of Herogasm. I wouldn't be surprised if someone tried to do an annual Herogasm party in the real world in honor of the show (like the way Festivus gets celebrated every year). The appeal of sexy cosplay orgies is obvious.

However, Episode 7 was very slow. The slowest burn so far in the series. No real battles, unless you consider quick murders, sucker punching, child abuse, and avoiding violence to be "fights", which I don't. But there was lot of melodrama and some revelations.

So, for the first time, I'm going to say that if you're running short on time, you can skip this episode of The Boys and pick up the information in this brief spoiler instead. Then go on to the next one where hopefully the action happens. Or watch it - either's fine.
Spoiler
Main points:
-Starlight is going to try to save Hughie at all costs.
-Maeve is imprisoned by Homelander for the purpose of harvesting her eggs so he can produce superpowered progeny.
-Kimiko gets her powers back. Her convulsions as she heals her wounds are probably the single 'hottest' moment in the episode.
-Cassandra is only in the show (as far as I can tell) to provide The Deep someone to cheat on with an octopus.
-Homelander is revealed to be Soldier Boy's genetic son (yep, that's the big one).
-A-Train gets a heart transplant from the dead racist superhero Blue Hawk.
-Temp V is a death drug that kills after 4 or 5 doses (but I think most people guessed that already).
Some choice lines that had me smiling or cringing:
"We sweep our filth under the rug." (The Legend, referring to the sordid history of the United States)
"I left my tenure at Vassar for you." (Cassandra, to The Deep)
"Buster Beaver", as a Porky Pig-styled cartoon character living in Black Noir's head.
"slangin' yayo" (as in, what Ashley imagines A-Train did as a boy before he got his powers)

Well, it has its virtues, but there was way too much of graphically exploding heads, and then the Monty Python type defeat of the villainess at the end of season 2 was a little too much for me. I haven't been able to bring myself to watch season 3. Of course the very beginning of the first episode clearly tells you what you're in for. Even looking both ways before you step off the curb is not safe in that world.

I would add what we learn up to 7.
Spoiler
1. Soldier Boy is exactly like Homelander and treated his team the same way.
2. There is an off switch to supers other than Soldier Boy's Kamahamaha. Some gas probably Vought gave to the russians.
3. A room CAN contain Homelander.
4. Noir has some sort of radical healing ability if his brains can come out and he can stuff them back into his head.
5. Permanent V restores powers.
6. Homelander is scared and we learn enough supers, coordinated right, could take him down.
7. More than likely Starlight will be framed or disappeared or murdered.
8. Ashley is pretty close to losing it.

Nope. In the show, she doesn't attend it...and during this season she is growing ever more sure of herself, chaste, and empowered,
so the Herogasm isn't even her style.
Spoiler
The Herogasm in the series was actually a bit more tame than in the comics (for one thing, the Vice President wasn't there, and it wasn't on "an island west of Costa Rica"). In the show, the Herogasm takes place at the TNT house out in the boonies, and the only named female hero who is involved is Tessa (of TNT).
So, there is definitely an opportunity for a porn producer to take the Herogasm concept further in a parody. Hopefully Axel Braun will step up.

As for Mr. X's prediction of Starlight dying, I don't think that's going to happen. She doesn't die in the comics.
In fact, I'm going to also make a prediction that none of The Boys will die at all.
You'll notice that everyone who dies in this show is a fringe or second-string character, and I think that trend is going to continue, until at some point either Soldier Boy or Homelander (or both of them) dies during a climactic battle of some sort.

The finale
Spoiler
Not sure what the point was here. Soldier Boy basically said what Homelander was, a coward and disappointment and he was going to kill Homelander. And they all turned against Soldier Boy. Maybe I missed something. Yeah he knocked down the kid but they were fighting Homelander. The Maeve fight was awesome. Not sure how she shoved a metal rod in Homelander's ear without it crumpling. This season seemed to go nowhere. Who was the bad guy? Everyone? No one? Was Soldier Boy the bigger threat? And in both Homelander and Soldier boy cases they both mostly killed Supers. Again not sure what the message was? Better of two evils?

And where does this show go. Do we now get a kinder gentler Homelander?

Well, the whole point of Garth Ennis creating The Boys is that he hates superheroes and they are supposed to be bullshit. So you're not going to get any moral clarity even if there are some biased underpinnings (e.g. lots of parodies of the right-wing).
It's a fairly nihilist approach.

As for the finale, it was a good wrap-up with lots of fighting and destruction.
Spoiler
Yes, the Maeve fight was great. It was good to see Dominique in that sexy costume one last time, even if she got the 'pirate' treatment, it's far from atypical of the show. As for the metal rod, maybe the area inside his ear is a weakness they could exploit?

My prediction so far has held true: Starlight is alive, and none of The Boys has been killed. Only fringe characters, or those with underdeveloped backstories (let's face it, neither Maeve nor Black Noir had any serious character development) get the axe. Now that Soldier Boy's put away again, the series lasts only as long as Homelander lasts. Antony is by far the 'Starr' of the show, and has as much screen presence as all of The Boys put together.

I'm sure all of us cringed when Starlight dropped her costume into the incinerator, taking the time to dispose of her lovely boots last, after giving everyone one last good shot of them. This is probably my only major complaint about the show: the way her 'empowerment' evolves her character into being less and less of a traditional superheroine over time.

Only one more thing: When the #BelieveStarlight protester throws the milkshake and yells "fascist", I'm really hoping that's a reference to the Andy Ngo milkshake assault in Portland.
Season 4 will involve trying to tear Ryan apart from his dad. Looking forward to it (except for the Starlight issue I mentioned above).

I feel comic book is way more fucked up and tragic. I feel the TV series even has done some things better than Ennis, such as developing Homelander's character. But the comic book Butcher is way superior. My only problem with the comic was it was a bit of an anti-climax at the end, it also drags in some areas unnecessarily. But the comic at least is political without taking a position. The TV series is like Star Trek Discovery at times, way too soppy and too much crying, and it's quite ideological with its liberal positions. It also lacks the humour of the comic, so then the violence seems out of place. But the TV show does more justice and allows more dignity to the female characters because if it was done exactly as the comic it would not have been received well.

Not making a new thread for this yet because it's many months away, but the new college-aged spinoff show "Gen V" is coming in 2023.
And closer to that point, a new thread is probably warranted.

The problem is that the tweeting about this was incredibly vague, literally stating that "2023 is their favorite number" and then
qualifying it with "Other than the Seven! Other than the Seven."
Some are taking it to mean cryptically that the release date for the Gen V season is July 7. 2023. But it is unclear.

Here's the Screen Rant article about Gen V - but of course this website is so often full of shit: they just published an article quoting Dan Slott
as saying that the She-Hulk show was the "most comic book accurate yet in the MCU". Which is total nonsense. So, grain of salt.
