I'm curious, what do you look for in a good heroine costume? What more than anything else makes you think, "this is a superheroine!"

For me it's the mask, I make an exceptions for characters who are visibly powered like She-Hulk or Tigra, but in general I like masked heroines. Not only does it add an air of mystery and extravagance, it also gives you the potential for humiliation or blackmail scenes via unmasking.

I feel like the leotard is the most vital part of a heroine's costume. I grew up in the 90's and was exposed to women in high cut swimsuits and lingerie as a young lad. To me there is nothing hotter than seeing a sexy woman in a high cut piece so I enjoy my superheroines like that too. I blame Baywatch!!!

Am I alone in not liking how CBS changed the cut on the bottoms of Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman costume for seasons 2+3 of the Wonder Woman series? I much more preferred ABC's version for season 1! Her diving suit was OMG hot though!

My 2 cents.

:w00t: I think it must be the clothes, If I want to see superheroines in danger the "bodysuit" or "leotard" or a "thong". Another thing I pay attention to is if the model fits the character.

These extremely sexy leotard superheroine costumes cause some serious tingling for me, and the hot heroines inside obviously too!

That could also be the sound of some huge nasty sticky net coming...

Tight and skimpy!
BTW I did include a pearl necklace in Supergran's costume.

Definitely the leotard. I also like a short skirt but not ridiculously short. Boots are preferred over high heels. Long hair isn't required. :)

Personally, I loved the CBS costume. Too bad that the writing did not follow the ABC formula though.

I think I'm with everyone here for the most part. The 3 most important elements for me are the leotard, the boots and suntan pantyhose. If I really like a video or certain elements, I'll buy one where the heroine has bare legs but it has to be really good for me to overlook that element.

I loved the CBS version of the Lynda costume as well. I agree with brdiy. I was often disappointed by the approach the writing took in seasons 2 and 3. They took to putting Diana Prince into peril a lot then using Wonder Woman as an unsatisfying deus ex machine to solve any story problem they had. It was too rare when WW was placed into any kind of genuine peril unlike season 1. You never really got the sense she was overmatched or in any real danger. Still, I could watch Lynda Carter in that costume all day long!

Sorry. "deus ex machina" not "deus ex machine"! Though since it translates to "god machine" I guess that typo is close enough!

For me, the shinnier the fabric is, the more I'll love the superheroine.
Julie Newmar and Yvonne Craig started it all for me in the '70s.
When I discovered O-Girl late in the '90s, I founded out that I was not the only one to have such a fetish...
Like Batgirl1969 😄, I prefer catsuit to leotard...

While the leotard is first for me, tights are second. That’s why I loved Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. Basic costumes and they looked damned good in them.

How are boots not #1? I don't even know you guys anymore. ;)

For me it is (in this order - don't judge me!) - Boots (preferable thigh high and stiletto-heeled), Mask, and a skin tight costume based on the WW costume in cut, but with high cut over the hips.

So basically Wonder Woman in a mask and thigh boots.

Really, 90% of my love of a heroine is costume.

Seems I am ploughing a lone furrow in my devotion to the mini skirt. It adds that extra forbidden secret that you might get a glimpse up when Supergirl comes in to land.

Very nice!!! I'll excuse myself to the bathroom hehe....

Here is my ideal cut of Wonder Woman costume. The rest of the costume not so good, but I love the high cut panties part of this version. It'll be considered blasphemy to most WW fans but peace and love everybody. Peace and love!

Leotard most important. Must be gymnastics cut and preferably show bare leg (flesh-colored pantyhose is OK). I am a leg man more than anything else.

Boots? Yeah. Prefer them below the knees (I think knees are cute). I like ankle boots, too.

Skirt? Yes, Tumkar, skirts are cool, as long as there are panties underneath. I included a photo a skirted heroine in a dilemma many of us enjoy.

Favorite is an authentic 60s Robin costume on a female.

P.S. - They're showing the U.S. Indoor Track and Field championships this weekend. Lots of superheroine fantasies triggered.

We’ll, it’s lots of elements that have to go together, isn’t it? But the nylons are a must.

You know, I love the look of pantyhose, but almost never put any of my heroines in them. That's starting to change, so I now have a few in dark pantyhose/fishnets.

The problem with the poll is that is doesn’t really reflect the costuming, just the presence of the item. A spandex costume can be completely formless, but the right cut on the right woman can be spectacular. The cut on the 66 batgirl costume does nothing but make YC look even better than she already did. The Nylonika costume in this pic is one of my favorite heroine outfits. On some women it would just mush down all their features and make Nylonika look dumpy. On Kendra, with the heels, corset and utility belt she looks amazing. The corsets on her and O-girl really take the costumes to the next level.

As an aside, I always thought it was a shame that Nylonika never got a ride on the buzzsaw. Her lithe body would have looked amazing creeping towards the biting buzzsaw…

The buzz saw takes a lot of space. Like 20 feet, which is a lot of room

The reason it is great is because it is a great set piece. Set it up and do scene with Nylonika, then dress Mosh as Penelope Pitstop (Christina Carter would make a great Hooded Claw😉). Do a couple of different perils and then spread out their releases. Do the same with the awesome pendulum from the original o-girl. Nobody else takes the time on costuming and set that you do in the US. For us Peril fans it would be a treat…
