Should Writers Include Disclaimers in Stories?

Supeheroine in peril features a lot of fetishes within this fetish. Some stories can be very sexual while other stories just enjoy the idea of defeating a heroine and tying her up to humiliate her. If you have a superheroine fetish of course you do because you're here, then there is something for you.

Blood
I think writers should consider certain disclaimers in stories. Many members on this forum have recommended stories to me, and I dislike 75% of those stories. The concepts of the heroines and villains were well done. However, as some of you know, I strongly dislike sex with blood. It's an instant turn off and ruins the fantasy.

If there is blood mixed in sex scenes, then there should be a disclaimer in my opinion. It ruins the visual of the story in motion. The visual becomes disgusting and nothing from my fantasy of a defeated superheroine. I would not buy and read a story with bloody sex.

Gay & Bisexual
I was reading a story on another site about a mother and son team. Two villains defeated the mother and were violating the sexy MILF. However, the story turns south for me because one of the villains defeated the son and starts violating him.

I have nothing against the LGBT community. I'm not gay so this type of story disinterests me. If you are writing a story with gay elements, then there should be disclaimer. Straight guys such as myself don't want to be lured into reading a story with gay sex.

Sex or No Sex
I would like for writers to say if their story has sex or not. There have been times when I am enjoying a story, and it ends without sex. I do not have any interest in stories without sexual perils. I feel like I wasted 30 minutes of my life. Some people feel the opposite and want to avoid any sexual peril.

Race should not be a disclaimer
I have only read one disclaimer or warning label in this entire genre. I am sure there are more stories with disclaimers. On Dangerbabecenteral, there is a racist disclaimer stating "Also, as a warning: given the source material, this story pushes heavily into ‘interracial conversion fetish’ territory, as you would get on Blacks on Blondes et al. If that’s a turn off for you, you should probably skip this one." This racist disclaimer is from the story The Seduction of Valiant Valkyrie.

Are you kidding me? Warning people that black men are having sex with a superheroine is degrading to black readers such as myself. Why is there a warning label because someone of my race is having sex with a superheroine? I've read stories about Mexicans, Germans, Englishmen, and Americans. None of those stories had warning labels because of the villain's race. This type of disclaimer is shameful and disrespects blacks in this fetish community.

If you're on a site that doesn't cater to sexual fetish material like fanfiction.net or Ao3 then absolutely you should just as a courtesy to readers who aren't down with that sort of material. But that's just me, I don't post fetish material to my Fanfiction.net account anyway.

Not a big deal to add a tag that lets a reader know what they are getting, especially if there is going to be an investment of time to reach the “action”

F/f, bond, non-con, snuff, blood,peril, furry, humor

It will either help draw people in or warn them off.

The more information the better generally, though at some point it becomes spoilers. Like the JAV categorisation good/bad ending. What about a surprise?

It would be fun to have a story customisation system. Present a story in a web page with buttons. If you want to dial down the sex, or the fight scenes, or clip out descriptions of, say, blood, you can display or generate a cut down version.

I had a project a while back to spider stories from fanfiction.net and find stories with a good amount of keywords I like. Would be fun to revisit this.

Practicing a bit of thread necromancy because I find this subject to be incredibly important. I like erotic superheroine fiction, but I skip a lot more of it than I would otherwise because I have no idea where it's going. We live in the most media saturated time the human race has ever seen so if you're posting stories online it's not only in your best interest (assuming your goal is to get as many like minded eyes on it as possible to read it), but it's also polite to let people know what they're in store for. On this forum that's as easy as hiding some relevant tags or a quick plot synopsis behind a spoiler. Or if this helps the terms show up in a search, just put the disclaimer at the bottom of your post with a word people can Ctrl+F to find. I think a lot of us here share common interest and fetishes, but it always helps to know what those interest are before you read a story.

As for the topics Geeky Porn Critic discussed I'm generally in agreement though I would make one distinction when it comes to race. Interracial sex probably doesn't require a tag, it's a pretty common thing that's legal everywhere that matters. Race play on the other hand you probably should give someone a heads up about. I don't mind reading about your white heroine getting fucked by a bad guy who happens to be black, but if he keeps going on about his BIG BLACK COCK pumping her white pussy with his dark seed while she has an internal monologue about how she's becoming a coal burner, that's probably something you should let your readers know is coming.

Thanks for reviving this thread! I think it's an interesting topic worthy of discussion.

I wanted to key in on the idea of spoilers when it comes to fetish fiction. I think the same thing applies to superheroine fetish videos. I don't come to this genre of fiction for a great, twisty story. If it has a well done story with a couple of nice twists in it, that's wonderful. But there are certain things I want to see or read about and I'd like to know if those elements are in the story or video. Therefore, the more information I have about the story ahead of time, the better for me, including information that would be considered a spoiler. In fact, I like it when it's quite the opposite. I enjoy reading a story or watching a video more when I know that the heroine will get into the sort of peril that I like. It makes the lead-up to it that much more exciting for me. I consume this type of content in a completely different way from all other entertainment.

I appreciate clever writing (and there are some GREAT writers here!) but only in regards to executing the fetish material that I came for. If I want great plotting and twists, there are some great mainstream comics writers I can enjoy. I am always amused when video producers post their latest release and they get coy with what's actually in it because "they don't want to spoil it." That's not why I'm coming to you. I've never once watched a superheroine fetish video and thought, "Boy, that's some great screenwriting!" Not to say you can't do both. You can certainly deliver on the fetish content and deliver on a ripping yarn. But if it's a 30-minute video and 25 of those minutes is devoted to a not-that-great story that is only delaying the actual content I want, that's a problem for me.

I loved reading everyone's thoughts here. TL;DR: When it comes to fetish fiction and videos, I want all the information I can get ahead of time.
Gentlemen, you can't fight in here this is the War Room!
