This next clip is worth watching just to hear the fantastic received pronunciation of the commentator (in the 1930s it was felt you couldn't have any real accents on radio or television they had to be what was termed 'received pronunciation' - every single syllable is pronounced deliberately and correctly.) No one in Britain actually sounded like this. But as a commentary its hilarious just for the immortal line
"He cuts through their defence like a snipe'
(a snipe is a wading bird known for its quick little darting bursts of speed)
