Another favorite: Relay teams (properly attired) gather for a post-race photo.
Here are the young women of the superheroine team Relay Patrol celebrating after putting The Penguin and his minions behind bars.

Re: Athletes as super heroines
The cool thing about the pole vaulters is that they give us the trap door effect.
As we know, super heroines sometimes fall through trap doors.

I think it is fantastic that we can get away with wearing such a little amount of clothing in public without any scrutiny or without people even batting an eye all in the name of sports...bet If I showed up Sunday morning to church wearing what i wore the day before at a volleyball game or a dance team exposition I would be labled a headonistic slut...I may just do that and see next out of town trip I take, show up to church in my leotard & no tights...sit legs crossed tooWidestance wrote: ↑1 year ago The cool thing about the pole vaulters is that they give us the trap door effect.

Nice photos of Queen Harrison (a Superheroienish name, by the way). Favorite photo is her at the starting line, hand on hips in her superheroine pose. Let the fight against evil begin!

I think it's fantastic too. I can look at women's track and field photos all day and fantasize about their superheroine exploits -- and the villains' attempt to subdue them -- after the track meet is over.
A few more photos.

Super Stunt cyclist the Golden Rider...she is an athelete...at least on the Taco Bell commercial!! she is daredame so surely someone would want to see her captured and bound....such a sexy stunt rider!!
Re: Athletes as super heroines
Great subject for a thread and obviously more than a few of us have similar fantasies.
Someone mentioned Gina Luckenkemper in an earlier post.
I've been considering her for some time now, but instead of a "Batgirl-type" of character, I imagined her as her own heroine, which I've decided to call "Nike" (like the shoe company, but that's also the Greek goddess of Victory and was the closest thing I could find to a "Goddess of Speed").

Playing to the ability of such a character's ability to run, I imagined her weakness would be having her legs bound, thus unable to run and thus, she's put in perilous situations with her hands and legs both bound, sometimes hogtied.
Of course, like others have shown, I just as often lop women I see into the roles of established heroines, too.
Someone mentioned Pole Vaulters earlier and I agree. Pole Vaulters and High Jumpers can make for some pretty excellent models for Superheroines.
After running across these pictures of New Zealand pole vaulter Eliza McCartney, how can you not see her as Wonder Woman...

One perilous scene I've imagined with Eliza is having her spin, changing into WW, but a bad guy is waiting "around the corner" and as soon as she changes, he leaps out and rips off her magic belt, tossing it out of arms reach, then immediately puts her in a powerful and ever tightening bear hug.
Without her super strength, Eliza is unable to break free.
To close, I've actually had dreams about high jumper Mariya Lasitskene, also as Wonder Woman....

One dream I had about her was that she was knocked out with Chloroform, before she was able to change into Wonder Woman.
When she awakens, she finds her self in a small room (about the size of a coat closet), tightly tied to a chair. Obviously, she is unable to spin and thus, cannot become Wonder Woman.
Once she gains her senses, she realizes her feet are wet and when she looks down, she sees the room is sealed and filling with water.
As Mariya, she does not have Wonder Woman's super powers and struggles to escape her impending doom.

Re: Athletes as super heroines
Have done RP's where just as I spin and change into WW I get grabbed. Not getting my belt ripped off on purpose but more of a accident as they grab just as i finish spinning.. So i can relate to that.

It's even better to shoot some sticky nets on WonderWeakling's body when she starts to spin, she simply spins herself into a superheroine cocoon herself!

I thought that was why they created beach volleyball, because regular volleyball covered up too much.

I often wondered why gymnasts often wear leggings or Nike Pro shorts over their leotards in practice or between events at meets, when they're just as tight as the leotards they're covering. Then I thought about it for a while and it was obvious.
Maybe the full-body unitards aren't quite as hot as the regular leotards, but I think these gymnasts look really good in them. It's not much different than what Yvonne Craig wore when she was Batgirl and just about all of us like that.

Re: Generic Supergirl wearing Gymnastics Attire
That one reminded me of an Olympic swimmer, many years ago, who was actually shot in a supergirl costume, as part of a promotion for an upcoming event.
If I can find a pic, I'll post it.
EDIT: The swimmer was Jenny Thompson, but a cursory viewing of Google images didn't turn up the photos. I'll search again later when I have time.

Re: Athletes as super heroines
Thanks for the McKayla Maroney videos. I had seen the one with the frisbee on the roof, but I hadn't seen the other one.
A devious thought about the end of the first one. The two frisbee throwers are actually The Riddler's henchmen. The first frisbee didn't the land on the trap door, but the second one was on target. After she jumps on the roof a second time, she falls through the trap door, is gassed and rendered unconscious.
What plans do the Riddler and his henchmen have for our beautiful superheroine?

I misread your idea as Batgirl1969's and gave her credit above. My bad. Sounds like a fun trap! Sorry for the confusion.Widestance wrote: ↑1 year ago Thanks for the McKayla Maroney videos. I had seen the one with the frisbee on the roof, but I hadn't seen the other one.

"Goddess" is a pretty apt description, too...

I see her in the same way I still see former tennis star Maria Sharapova...as a leggy and sexy Supergirl.
