I would say I'm a nerd in some ways but I'm sure as hell no troll , I'm a human being.

The ratings didn't go down that much (unless you compare everything to the very first episode of the show like some.......do).shevek wrote: ↑3 years ago.....
And here's my assessment - there are a lot of absurd premises in the show. Like:
- talking to a plant, if you're not Poison Ivy.
- how easily Luke winds up giving the whole store of the Batcave up to a woman with proven criminal associations.
-How does Zsasz (brilliantly portrayed by the actor) go around just killing people in broad daylight (in fact, killing so many people that he fills up his entire body with kill hashmarks) without any opposition or consequences?
-How does Mary operate an illegal hospital so blatantly that she has actually *cancer patients* and *employees* (one of whom gets killed with little or no consequence).
-How close to Gotham is Coryana that Safiyah's minions can actually drug both Alice and Ryan (and admittely, that part is hot) and take them all the way to the island and back in basically the blink of an eye?
-And what about this whole Desert Rose cure-all thing..Safiyah would really go around killing random people to keep that secret rather than revealing it to the world for all the good it can do? (this definitely exposes Safiyah as a seriously twisted villainess)
........
Yeah, I think Alex Morf did a really good job with playing him. Insane and creepy, but not completely nuts.

Given its low ratings and the fact most so called woke people apparently don't watch it should be an indicator.VictorBlack95 wrote: ↑3 years agoIs this show good? I watched Arrow religiously. Appealed greatly to the Batman fanboy in me. Those first two seasons were especially incredible. I watched the Flash up until the Savitar reveal. It absolutely turned me off the show. Supergirl was just okay for me even though I adore the outfit and actress. Lacked inspiration. Same for Legends. So that was my long winded way of saying, yes I am familiar with CW DC shows haha.Maskripper wrote: ↑3 years agoWell wordedVictorBlack95 wrote: ↑3 years agoIs this show good? Do you watch any other CW hero shows? Like Supergirl, Flash, Arrow, Black Lightning, Legends of Tomorrow?
Season 1 had a rather rocky start in the first 2-3 episodes but improves steadily.
The show has a great villainess (Alice). As it is a CW show it has quite some relationship drama in it.
Also, it does have some pretty good action scenes in it.
I do like the rather realistic touch in terms of superpowers and magic as that there is much more in other shows.
Also, the dark atmosphere in Gotham is really something.
As you may have read season 2 now has a new lead actress/Batwoman (and a costume change)
The change is starting to pay off in my opinion.
The new character is now getting into her new destiny as Batwoman and I'm looking forward to see much more of her.
If you have any questions about the show or episodes...feel free to post here or write me a PM.
I have seen every episode at least 3 times ...and am ....rather... passionate about the show

P.S.: I Will post my review about episode 4 tomorrow....
The low ratings is, for me, a bigger indicator of a not so good show than anything else. I do tend to believe that the show just won't interest me, not because it's "woke" but because I have trouble getting through shows/movies set in Gotham without Batman or at least Bruce Wayne. Still if it is good might be worth a shot.Mr. X wrote: ↑3 years agoGiven its low ratings and the fact most so called woke people apparently don't watch it should be an indicator.VictorBlack95 wrote: ↑3 years agoIs this show good? Ironically the show is probably watched more by people who diss on the show than actual fans.
To me the only "fans" I encounter are like that over-enthusiastic art teacher in jr high who says "homework is the best thing evar! You have no idea what you're missing!". Basically over enthusiastically liking something not cause its good but cause its what you're supposed to like.
Yes I would much more chalk it up to bad writing, no good plots, bad acting. I'm thinking what is really so woke about it? Not much. Not sure what its promoting other than fetish scenes involving other races or other sexual orientations hook up. In fact it seems more fetishizing groups than it does anything else.VictorBlack95 wrote: ↑3 years agoThe low ratings is, for me, a bigger indicator of a not so good show than anything else. I think the new style of writing is a series of "moments" like emotional moments stitched together with a weak plot. Its almost like a porn flic in that no one cares if the plumber has the right tool, that identity is just an excuse to get to the money shot.Visitor wrote: ↑3 years agoBad writing and plots, but that has become the new normal for almost all the superhero shows on the CW.
When the best reason to watch a hero show is the villain, Alice, then they must be doing something really wrong. The show has it's moments, but they are far enough between not to be a must see TV.
Of course, it is allowed. But when it reaches it certain level...it's trolling.
Again, yes, it's totally fine to post about something you don't like.tallyho wrote: ↑3 years agoAnd if there is a Superheroine series on perhaps you are watching it in the hope it WILL get better or perhaps have a sexy villainess in an episode where you DO like her costume.
Its OK to post about something you don't like and some people watch things they don't like in the hope they will improve.
I often sit through terrible films in the hope of seeing a scene or perhaps some dialogue that may save it, or, a camera shot, a one liner, something that makes my investment of time worth while as I can appreciate that moment of skill. "Sharknado" being a case in point.
I'm offering an explanation as to why one group may like the show. A different audience type. Its better than assuming the audience is a bunch of counter culture trolls simply tearing things down to "destroy the normatives". I do remember someone here ranting about how "It's breaking down old oppressive role models that needs to be crushed. And they are getting crushed, year by year." I get suspicious as to their real motives why they like something.Maskripper wrote: ↑3 years agoWell Grinchmaster X, he actually asked the folks who are watching the show, which isn't you ....as it would surprise me if you would have seen more than 1 episode.
C'mon. That's like labeling everyone who politically disagrees with you as a hate group. There IS such a thing as bad writing or bad plots or glaring mistakes. But some people only spread negativity and hate.
Watching this series, just like you, Maskripper.
Technically, at least once a character said "**All** Crows are Bastards." Which was I put the word "cops" in the bracket, as I was paraphrasing to better demonstrate my point. It's not just a "comment" - it's conveniently the same acronym as the Antifa slogan ACAB, which I've seen spray-painted around my city in all the hipster areas for the past few years.Maskripper wrote: ↑3 years agoThey said, "the CROWS are bastards".
Because they are totally out of control here and answer to no one but themselves.
Yes, that is a comment to real events, but that isn't the show is saying the cops are bastards. It's just a comment.
Yeah, the seasons are spread all over the year. Supergirl and Stargirl (now in the Arrowverse as well) are starting in Summer.Danorian wrote: ↑3 years agoI know I'm crossing the streams here, but I'm rather perturbed with how out of synch the various Arrowverse series are(Batwoman is up to episode 6, yet Flash and Supergirl haven't started yet?!) I would have enjoyed a Supergirl/Batwoman crossover, and having SG having problems working around BW with her kryptonite poisoning! Would be like a Kryptonite Woman?!
Sorry, I just like seeing my girl, Supergirl, in perils!Spoiler
Obviously Lex and Luthorcorp haven't done enough advertising of their connections with the DEO and Supergirl, or Luke might try to contact Kate's friend Supergirl to try to help cure our lead's kryptonite poisoning!
My 2 cents.
With the disclaimer, that I don't like any of the WB D.C product.RedMountain wrote: ↑3 years agohttps://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2021/03/18/i ... 3-rumours/
Interesting rumors that they are going to cancel the show after season 3 and just absorb BW into other Arrowverse shows. Wonder how that would work out, but if she can guest star in a bunch of shows that might also open up a return for Supergirl at some point. I'm glad they at least see the value in Javica as BW, while the writing has been typical CW lackluster nonsense for the most part, she has killed it as Ryan/Batwoman and I'm actually hoping in season 3 they can start fresh with her own story unrelated to Kate/Alice and all that other stuff that has made season 2 a bit of a mess.
Personally I was excited when they first announced Batwoman. Her comic run was truly exceptional IMO, mainly because she was a stand alone from the Bat family and ran her own show without needing Batman's help or resources. The stuff with her family was well done in the comics and there was this fun supernatural air to it all. Unfortunately the CW didn't stick with any of the excellent source material they had from the comics and went off in some crazy directions and started with her being a fill in for Batman(I guess since they needed an anchor to a more popular character for a TV show), though still tried to keep the Kate and Alice plot central to it all. Unfortunately that all kind of goes out the window when you remove Kate from the scene entirely. I guess they've done what they could so far this season, but I'm hoping season 3 they just start with a clean slate and give Ryan her own story instead of her having to come in and be shoehorned into the already ongoing plot.Dazzle1 wrote: ↑3 years agoWith the disclaimer, that I don't like any of the WB D.C product.RedMountain wrote: ↑3 years agohttps://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2021/03/18/i ... 3-rumours/

the whole idea of creating a new character and calling her Batwoman compounded the mistake of having Batwoman instead of Bat Girl either as Barbara Gordon or Cassandra Cain. Batgirl has always been far more popular than Batwoman, I'd argue Huntress makes more sense
Question for you. Could Javica been a success with an original character or if they had made her VixenRedMountain wrote: ↑3 years agoPersonally I was excited when they first announced Batwoman. It was awesome seeing one of my favorite comic characters come to life on the TV screen, but sadly like almost everything else they touched, CW writing and ignoring of established source material kind of ruined it. Javica has filled in nicely to the role and IMO is better suited to the role in terms of her combat abilities and athleticism, and her acting is head and shoulders above Ruby, I just wish she could have her own story instead of them trying to recover the plot that fell apart when Ruby left the show.
