SHP Fiction Conversion to SHP films

I have a question that I have been wondering about for a while now. There is a vast array of terrific superheroine peril fiction available on the Web. Rye's "Enthusiastic Participation" was inspired by a SHP story. Why don't more producers make films based on SHP fiction, or at least take scenarios from SHP stories and put them on film. Yes, I know that for a lot of these stories one would need to strip them down in order to conform to budgets with regards to the number of actors and sets, but it can be done. Right now off the top of my head I can rattle of ten SHP stories that could be somewhat easily converted to film. Are there legal reasons that prevent a producer from bringing SHP fiction to film?
