Power Girl : FBTEL Stars Siri as the titular role who’s had an unknown spell put upon her to now finally finish her off once and for all as Super-villain Lilith(Played by Alex Chance) then reveals that the spell was only the tip of the iceberg and the final most crucial punch will be the most sexually humiliating, but can Power Girl figure a way out of this in time? Lets find out!
And the first thing i appreciated about this film was the non-linear fashion it took compared to others by having pretty much no script or story to go by, the actors instead come up between themselves with a fairly titillating premise to build upon and then to go off from there with only their ad-libs and bouncing off each other to add the substance to the visuals.
And while this technique sounds like all kinds of bad for a heroine fan like me who thinks the more story and strong narrative the better, it actually works really well, as it is complimented by our performers talent to improvise really well and actually because there’s no script the ad-libs feel much less forced/stale and much more natural and in the moment sounding, and most importantly all the more provocative and steamy.
And with these two naturalistic performances come the visual eye candy that with it : Popular porn star Siri who’s most notable for having a beautifully curvy and well rounded physique and this film gives us no reason to doubt that notoriety as we see her plump/buxom breasts absolutely overflow and almost burst at the seems out her costume as well as every other perfectly rounded asset that’s bound by spandex (and wants to escape), and yet Alex chance has just as many eager assets, nicely filling one of Siri’s previously worn catsuits in a way that does Siri justice whilst also both girls both having gorgeous facial features evenly too.
But with this the film never feels lacking of structure and good pacing as the events advance quickly and snappily while also not dragging out each sex scene/act as with it’s short running time it never overstays it’s welcome and as previously said the performances are so good and sharp that the film creates the illusion that this may has well have been written with its titillating lines and ideas being thrown at you throughout it never feels too much of a stretch quality-wise from your usual more narrative driven heroine films and at points it’s hard to believe it isn’t.
The performances and dialogue although realistic they do have a surprising and consistent amount of wit and a light hearted style of humor plus displaying the actresses chemistry and quick-wittedness/inventiveness, whilst also splicing it in with the already beautiful visuals and stimulating core story.
The camera work for this type of film is simple but effective fitting perfectly with the loose narrative the film is going for whilst also not doing anything too complex or technical that may draw away from the performances and improvisational tone of the film.
I also love how Siri is able to range from anger/genuine discontent for our villain, to witty back and forth’s/all round lightheartedness without it ever feeling tonally inconsistent or jarring in any way. again keeping with the films overall theme of being naturalistic and keeping with a flowing stream of consciousness.
Alex also works perfectly opposite Siri with a very taunting and humiliating side to her character which can come of as deviously villainous or an effortless flow of well thought out comebacks resulting in an enterprisingly entertaining clash of minds.
And then like some of my favorite heroine films the film ends with our heroine having conflicting sides : one wanting to resist in defiance while the other side starts to slowly succumb to Lilith’s violating acts and actually enjoy it which makes a great finale to a truly surprising gem.
So all in all while the film doesn’t take a more alternatively driven approach than most films it is actually able to titillate us more than heroine films of a more story driven sort with erotic ideas, energy and lines all of which are thought of on the spot and is a testament to it’s quick-thinking and responsive performers who help deliver more heated scenes and genuinely provocative ideas on the spot than most written films (in fashion with the great Dynamite Girl vs. The Invisible Fiend) So if you liked that film and all the points I’ve given then you’ll definitely love this film and like that film Power Girl gets a :
