So I just wanted to give everyone an update on the Ashley Graham situation.
If you want to get the background, here's the original thread (which was locked)

http://superheroineforum.com/viewtopic. ... 756#p99050

Anyway, after posted warnings on several forums, Ashley responded to me over on the SHIB forum and posted a new e-mail address at which to contact her. I did and she explained that she's had some trouble lately and she said she'd refund my money by the end of June.

Needless to say June has come and gone and I have had no word from Ashley, nor has she responded to any of my further attempts to contact her.

So just in case anyone was wondering if maybe she got her shit together and was considering ordering customs from her, don't.

That sucks TnT, I didn't really expect she'd do the right thing and refund your money. She's a thief and a liar and will probably never make another dollar in this business, and either should anyone associated with her....

I was afraid of that.
I was really hoping that this would resolve itself for several reasons but one of those reasons was that i had a really excellent idea to do with her, but it involved a sizable investment in costume and props....but I feared that if she didn't resolve this issue any project I made with her would fail.

TIEnTEEZ I'm really sorry this happened to you.
I was hoping things would get resolved.

since you are one of the few that tried to get involved and defend her or give the benefit of the doubt , I hope you will put the word out amongst the directors, producers and fans, that she is PnG'ed from the heroine/fetish.

good riddance!, with the word out, anyone that loses money now to her thievery, deserves it, anyone stupid enough to use her or give her money upfront that is.

Thanks for the updated warning. I did not like it when the other thread was closed with the comment that it was "producer bashing."

"Bashing" is the word that people use these days to describe an unwarranted attack or a maliciously motivated criticism. A producer who takes customer's money, strings them along, makes false promises, avoids contact with the customers who are complaining, and makes no effort to refund the money the customer has provided...is a thief. It is hardly bashing to publicly identify a thief as a crook, it is a public service.

@ Travis
I agree with you. Too often warranted criticism is labeled as "hating", and legitimate critics are called "haters". I dislike that style of dismissing fair criticism.

I think one of the problems with the other thread was that some people got really out of hand and took it too far talking about violence against Ashley. It was all hypothetical, I'm sure, but that kinda talk is really just unnecessary and counterproductive.

So keep it civil, folks.

Just so long as I can warn people against getting ripped off, there's no need to take it any further.

Hopefully, this thread can serve as a reminder to Ashley to resolve the issue. I know Tuxjar got one of his two customs. JMH Gotham hasn't posted for a few weeks, but I haven't heard anything about him getting a refund.

Ashley has been promoting her videos on this forum as recently as late May. Which seems bizarre, seeing as she was fully aware of the issues raised in the previous thread.

Aren't there some producers on here who are friends with her, or at least able to get in touch with her? I mean come on, some one is talking to her and could at least talk some sense in her and make it all right. She can't run forever

Several of the producers on here and elsewhere have gotten involved and contacted Ashley about this including Christina Carter, MH, and others. And thanks to all of them. But it apparently did not help.

I can only assume that Ashley just doesn't care about her reputation or has accepted the fact that she is going to lose business.

really?
since when do apologies not matter?
although, knowing you stole money, and did it on purpose (regardless of the reason) saying sorry for that might seem hollow and insincere, but telling the customer the truth whether its embarrassing or not(that you cant run your own business and affairs and have now resorted to theft fraud and larceny to maintain your lifestyle) might have made the loss a little less offensive, no less illegal and F-ed up on the petty criminals part, but it might take the sting out of it a bit and make the customer feel a little better. not that she cares about that at all, this was a carefully planned and successfully executed theft, and apparently not a one time event.

im just saying, I hold grudges and I abhor liars and thieves as they have no integrity and no values, but it is hard to hold a grudge and be angry for very long against someone you truly believe is sorry and remorseful.

She got in a bind? Was that before or after she took the money? At this point, she has nothing to win or lose so she's not going to reply to anyone, let alone refund their money. Her name and reputation is toast. She's the Ebola of the super heroine peril genre. I feel sorry for those who were blatantly ripped off by her

I think no one knows her side of the story except her; but on the basis of her being given ample opportunity to tell her side of the story to those affected by her actions, if not the wider community, and she has taken none of those chances to even begin to repair the damage or redress the financial loss to those out of pocket, I would suggest her side of the story is not worth a tuppenny damn particularly as it seems to be on the back of many a broken word.

I can't see what possible valid excuse there could be for deliberately avoiding contact with customers over , what a time span of a year, year and a half? Yet all the while having their money in her bank account.

As I say, I'm just saddened by the whole mess. I hope somehow it comes good for you fellas.

Seems like we are just rehashing old ground here, but if I ran a business that way, I'd be out of business. You don't just disappear for a year with someone's money and no explanation. If she doesn't want to explain to the community at large for whatever reason, then that still doesn't explain why she doesn't even have the courtesy to respond to my e-mails.

In other news, Ashley tweeted today that she's available for custom work. So, whatever troubles she has or has had aren't preventing her from soliciting further custom orders.

She's taking custom orders? Really? As what character, the Whore of Babylon? Please! Or maybe as a transgender hero, Brass Balls? Good luck to anyone answering her tweet.

its your MAC Address more than likely that twitter associates with you, there are ways to mask or ghost a MAC but the book is about 3000 pages think, doubtful worth your time and trouble, go somewhere with a different computer and different IP/MAC (like a hotel business room) and do not log into your account or any other account, simply make one from scratch.

not sure what good it will do; once she finds out it's you she's going to block you or give you another canned response of "here's my new email you can contact me there" and the game goes on and on....I'm the type of person who will use all resources at my disposal to get my money back, but I can understand if you feel it's not worth your time or energy at this point. At the very least, threads like these are helpful in warning others and we all know how quickly word gets around in this genre. If you keep her from making just ONE sale then it's a victory. So sorry for the people involved

Whoa there! No witch hunts please. In fairness a lot of that has just been appealing for calm before trying to find out both sides of the situation - I don't see anything wrong with that. Remember a lot of these producers have worked with her over the years - and I think they would have doubted she would behave as she has over this as they thought they knew her better. Some are probably friendly with her. If someone I didn't know accused someone I considered a friend of something I would defend them until the situation was known.

No producers here are saying what she did was right. Judge people for their deeds.

I have to agree with Tallyho on not tarring everybody with the same brush and counseling some restraint here.

I'm not sure if you were burned Avenger by Ashley, but if you were I sympathize. Nevertheless I'm pretty sure it will be hard for Ms. Thief to earn a living at what she enjoys. That would be a hard punishment for me, I know.

If you want to do something constructive, you can contact other sites where she might be selling her services and post notices there.

Thats really not fair at all. I still have two movies with her that we shot 2 years ago!
before all of this happened. I paid her good money to do her thing for us and by your comment I would have to throw away that footage and eat the loss because she did something!
I don't think its very fair to penalize the producers when they haven't done anything wrong.

I had the same problem last year when a model was arrested for doing crush videos and the entire industry turned on her. I publicly said I would never hire her again, but i had a half dozen videos that to this day Im afraid to post because of what you're suggesting.

Many of us shoot content months and months ahead of time, waiting to release it at the right time.
your suggestion would hurt me even though I haven't done anything wrong.

Hey Knights of Gotham, I'm not really suggesting that you or anyone gets 'punished' because of what she did, per se, but rather I was probably remembering my Air Force training days when one person in our flight fucked up we all ended up paying for it....one guy would do something wrong and the entire flight would drop and do push ups. Believe me I hated doing push ups and we all worked harder so we didn't fuck up and do them again. Same thing in PJ school; I hated the pool but whenever one guy fucked up we all swam extra laps and did more water training. The point is, Ashley fucked up and I was suggesting the people involved with her should made to drop and give 20 push ups, because eventually they get tired of her shit and will do something to correct her, figuratively speaking of course. The fact that you came out with your concern about already filming with her validates my point: you don't want to be punished for what she did, but at the same time, are you distancing yourself from her? Or are you communicating with her because you could always give her some valuable advice about kindly refunding their money

Setting aside the utter lunacy of generally advocating for collective punishment of entirely innocent people just to satisfy some revenge craving.

I suspect that there are slightly different dynamics at work in a situation where you are trying to instill a sense of military camaraderie into a group of strangers vs trying to boycott a girl who has been very silly and pressed the self destruct on her own business.

Can you imagine if this sort of childish pettyiness went ahead? Do you think producers would risk working with self employed models who do customs when half their catalogue might become useless (and the model herself would have been paid anyway)

The current situation, where it seems very unlikely that anyone is going to pop up next month with "starring Ashley graham" seems adequate.

Yes this is an abhorrent situation but sending money to people is always a bit caveat emptor.

It still boils down to the same thing, lets punish someone who has nothing to do with the issue to try and pressure the one who is responsible to pay up. Allow me to make an example.

there is a guy who writes a story here. you like the story and send him a reputation point, and p[ost that you liked his story.

6 months later he writes a story that has child sex in it. the admin bans him and goes back 6 months and sees you liked that one story that has nothing to do with child porn, but since you showed support for the non-child porn story he bans you for supporting him. would that be fair?
you are asking people to do the same thing. lets punish someone who didn't do anything to injure the person who did.

avenger wrote:you don't want to be punished for what she did, but at the same time, are you distancing yourself from her? Or are you communicating with her because you could always give her some valuable advice about kindly refunding their money
I spoke to her regarding it when she was performing at a club here in NYC when it first started. she shrugged her shoulders and continued smoking her cigarette. thats all I can do. I shouldn't be punished for her actions, no matter how its sliced its wrong.

I understand that you're pissed and would like to see a resolution to this, but throwing the baby out with the bathwater is just wrong.

As it stands now I can't shoot with Kithos because she has made herself persona non grata, now I get to add Ashley to that list. Thankfully I have no content with Kithos but I DO have several movies with Ashley that I now have to put back on the back burner and not release because this shit is still going on and whats worse people are talking about boycotting me for something I had no part in.

yeah, not cool.
just wrong.

I see both your points, I really do....I shouldn't get so emotionally involved in this because it's not my money that was taken. I used an example of my military days and I guess it's not the best context here, but was trying to demonstrate how it works. Obviously not in a larger community of people who aren't involved with her. My apologies man.....I said what I wanted to say and probably won't say anything more

You've highlighted the key problem with stockpiling content. While the model you hire gets paid instantly for her day's work, you don't know whether a change in circumstances will make it difficult to sell those videos.

There's also the issue of models retiring from the business amicably. If a model quit porn two or three years ago, it seems a little unfair for producers to be releasing "new" videos starring her.

As for your Ashley videos, why not just put them out there and say in the description that they were shot a while ago? (No need to mention anyone's problems with Ashley specifically.) They're not making you any money sat on your HDD.

While the animal-crushing model is obviously a fucking psycho who would make a lot of people uncomfortable, Ashley hasn't done anything in that league. I can't see too many customers being turned off by a model not fulfilling contracts. Besides which, if you make it clear it's a previously-unreleased older video, people will understand that Ashley won't profit from sales.

This reminds me of a Stewart Lee routine about the model Danielle Lloyd losing work after making racist remarks on TV.

It's not a problem, its a necessity. Fetish production is a business that can be run one of two ways:
Shoot immediately and release immediately or stockpile.

For many niches the sub niches are cyclical meaning that content in the sub niches gain and lose popularity, these cannot be gauged in advance. For example lets take the sleepy niche.

Sub niches nude/explicit rotates with non-nude pg-13
They take turns being "in fashion" sometimes the nude popularity spikes and all the nude videos sell well, then with little warning the tide changes and non-nudes are popular for awhile

These cycles flips happen with very little warning. I have been doing this long enough to be able to see when a trend is changing.

thats why a producer stockpiles. because when suddenly Supergirl becomes hot and someone says
"man what i wouldn't give for a super hot Supergirl chloroform scene right now. when was the last time anyone shot one of those" and then its followed by a dozen people agreeing then i can just take that super girl video I shot 15 months ago and put it out as a new release.

Also Producers who release in large quantity every week have to stockpile. thats just the way it is.

it's not a problem its a necessity to stay in business.

Heroine Addict wrote: There's also the issue of models retiring from the business amicably. If a model quit porn two or three years ago, it seems a little unfair for producers to be releasing "new" videos starring her.
We could start naming models who announce they are retiring and then return after a year!
that would be a fun game!
again after having done this for as long as I have I have some insight on these matters. Very few models retire for good.
many announce their retirement, get a taste of the real world, and come rushing back when the money has dried up or the emails and tweets stop coming.
Some legitimately retire its true, but for the most part they really don't.
and even if the above statement weren't true lets look at this as a business.
in business when a musician retires/dies their last album is released with much fanfare because it makes more money. Fetish videos is no different.
when a model signs a release they give up all ownership of the video. their image is no longer their own.
I can release that video in a week, a month, or a year. it doesn't matter...just like it doesn't matter in the real world.

Heroine Addict wrote: As for your Ashley videos, why not just put them out there and say in the description that they were shot a while ago? (No need to mention anyone's problems with Ashley specifically.) They're not making you any money sat on your HDD.

1) because the cycle has not arrived yet, and constant pressure from people demanding they gather and punish the producer only help push that content back until its forgotten

2) because people are vicious and brutal and sometimes they speak/act without thinking. When that model did the bug crush videos everyone jumped up and down on her and actually went out of their way to demand people not buy any footage featuring her. Some people tried putting it out and saying
"this was shot before she was caught crushing bugs, please don't take it out on me"
and guess what happened? people still crucified him.
Can you honestly tell me that If I put out a super heroine video with Ashley, or Kithos there wouldn't be at least one person to say
"this looks good buyt i refuse to support any producer who gives them money because of what they did"
once the jeanie is out of the bottle its too late to take anything back.

That one post will lead to either a whole slew of posts agreeing and turning the thread into an anti-model thread, or worse the poster will poison the fruit.

My best bet is to wait for a year or two (maybe even more) until this is either resolved or people have forgotten.

I cannot start not-stockpiling because this is a business and thats the business model that works for me

It's funny. In a sense, the post that started this discussion is already moot. There's no reason to boycott producers who hire Ashley... smart ones are already doing it as a matter of their own self-interest.

And this post just makes my point.

KnightsofGotham,
Interesting points about there being cyclical trends in the market. I can see how that might work with certain characters or certain themes/styles coming into fashion. For example, there's a very obvious reason why the 1960s Batgirl has been on everyone's mind in the past couple of days. So renewed interest in that source material may spike demand for Batgirl videos in a campy style. However, I really don't see how nude/explicit vs non-nude/PG-13 can be at the whim of fashion. People generally have a preference for one or the other.

The level of specific fetishists (nylon fetishists, for example) out there is going to stay fairly constant from one month to the next. Overall trends in the wearing of pantyhose/tights in society and popular culture may affect the number of people who develop that fetish in the future, but that would be a long-term effect.

On another thread in this forum, Logan is trying to discover what people liked about a particular video which sold more than his others. As if he's hoping to catch lightning in a bottle and find the formula to replicate that success. But let's say his next attempt at the same "formula" fails. Would we then assume that those elements have gone out of style and he'll have to wait for that style to trend again?

Correlation does not imply causation. A run of reds on a roulette wheel does not signify that red is "trending" at a given time. Nor does it signify that black's probability is maturing. The success of red or black reverts to the mean as the sample size of games gets large enough. As the sales of these videos are generally in the hundreds, rather than thousands, the sample size is probably too small to identify patterns of behavior in niche fetishists.

Speaking unscientifically as a sample of one person, I can personally say that I generally favor videos in which a heroine wears pantyhose which are partially removed or ripped open to reveal her pussy. While there may be external factors which affect how many videos I buy in a given month, I'm not likely to change my preference soon and start buying non-nude videos with bare-legged heroines.

It is interesting for sure, except that it doesn't work for all fetishes.
for example there are no trends in the super heroine fetish market. none. you can't forecast super heroine fetish. none of the sub-niches trend in any way shape or form. (or at least none that I have noticed yet anyway)
thats not exactly surprising.
however since we cater to over 20 niches and most of them do tend to trend I have to produce with those in mind but i can't produce one way for one group, and another for super heroines which means I have to stockpile just in case because I have to for all the other fetishes.

it is an interesting phenomena to witness once you start noticing the markers before a trend shift.
strangely enough the markers are unique to every fetish and have so far not been shared by any others.
So you just have to know what you're looking for in order to spot the merging trend shift.

as I mentioned earlier each fetish has its trend markers. knowing what the markers are can greatly help. for example staying in the pantyhose/tights group. During the summer there is a personal shift towards nude hose, in the winter its dark/black hose. knowing this ahead of time gives you the opportunity to shoot with a model and shoot 6 nude hose movies, and 6 black hose movies so you will have content that will sell year round with that model wearing pantyhose. since we update the pantyhose site every week we would have to shoot 4 nude hose videos with Diana during the summer but if we wanted to update lack hose with diana we would have to fly her out again in the winter. thats where stockpiling comes in. now imaging having to do 2-4 more trends per fetish niche, then times that by the 20 niches we shoot for.

thats a slightly tricky question because it calls for us to paint a small space with a broad brush. there are factors to be taken into consideration and its not something that can happen in a week or a month. it takes as little a s year or as long as 5 years to develop a reliable trend marker. having done this for over 15 years we have data thats pretty rock solid.

When a video does well we want to know what made that video a success because we are gauging what the industry wants, not what formula sold. Formulas are great but it can be a trap. follow it too closely and suddenly you are looking at a carbon copy of every video from here to eternity. knowing what made a video sell isn't likely to create a carbon copy template, but rather (if this were me) make me curious as to the factors that made it a success.. was there a trend element I have not before seen? is this a brand new emerging trend or a former trend evolving?

As i said earlier super heroines don't seem to have trends. but we have only been seriously doing this for 2-3 years so its too soon to say without a doubt there are no trends. If they are there I haven't found them yet.

not necessarily. I have spotted and maintained trends in a niche that sells only 10-20 units a year.
stuck fetish is like that. we only sell about 25 units a year but I can tell you without hesitation what the trends are for it and what the markers are before a trend shift. In business just because a model works for one thing doesn't mean you apply it to business as a whole. the factors for car sales cannot be duplicated for airplane sales.

I get what you're saying but I would suggest that you can't see the forest because you're looking too closely at one tree!
because you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't there.

there is a complex math to all of this and I cannot say that I understand the math at a single point (on the per person level), but I can see the larger whole starting to shift as one, and thats when I usually change the movies i update to match that emerging swing. Having said that there are factors for single point of sales. Lets use the Death/Erotic Horror niche as an example of single point of sale trends.
I know that strangle videos with the woman wearing garter belt and black stockings are facvorited by older men. the majority of the people buying these kinds of videos are over 50. since retirement benefits come at a specific time of the month every month I can expect that those men in that age group will be buying their favorite movies once their retirement befits hit the bank. Knowing this I can put out black stocking and garter belt strangle movies exactly at that time.

unfortunately there aren't many single point facts to be had. its too many to know and keep track of.

its a really interesting notion and incredibly exciting to see. when you are reading forums and start seeing an emerging trend shift and then you augment your release schedule to match it and then suddenly you start seeing your sales double and then triple and you know you are hitting the jackpot because you saw the trend shift. its an incredible feeling.

this, by the way, is why we never do a niche without having a forum attached to it. either an established long running one or creating one ourselves when its a topic we really want to do. like Vampires. there isn't a single fetish forum for erotic vampire movies (that I have found yet) when Eve said she wanted to start doing vampires I looked all over and when we didn't find one we created our own.
