"The report from the rangers said the locals heard something like explosions coming from inside the park" said Bobby as he turned the wheel as the boat rounded a bend in the river, entering a flood plain network where there were a series of billabongs. "Glad they called us, some animals could have been hurt. They'll leave this area to us while they search the other riverways in the park" replied Barbara as she continued to look through her binoculars.
The two teenagers, were expert veterinarians at the DARWIN ZOO, which was funded by the DARWIN FOUNDATION. Their 40 year old mother TERRI DARWIN ran the Foundation since their father SAM died five years ago. Though she was a renowned conservationist and they loved her very much, Bobby and Barbara thought she lived a boring life since their father died, involved in running the business of the Foundation.
They were comforted by the thought that while she was concerned about possible criminal activities in protected nature reserves in the Northern Territory, Terri would not be out anywhere putting her life at risk. "Bobby! Over there! Turn right!" cried Barbara. "All right! Hang on!" replied Bobby as he gave a sharp turn on the wheel of the launch.
