Our first con of the 2021 Comicon season began today, and continues tomorrow: 3 Rivers Comicon "Lite" (as in outdoors, in the daylight, under shady tents) at the Homestead Waterfront. Weather was fantastic, and we made a lot of new fans, selling many comics while hanging with a bunch of Pittsburgh-based comics creators.

Maskripper will especially like this photo: Kristin (who plays Arabic superheroine Jinniyya, mistress of the wind) is an accomplished bellydancer, so she has a beautiful fringed harem-style covid mask to go along with her costume. A fully masked heroine!

Then Kristin posed for some more photos without the mask.

Also in attendance were a couple of our voluptuous villainesses: the volatile Vaporia (played by Josalynn) and the destructive Dyna
(Milo) in her brand-new shiny catsuit with the new-and-improved 'lowercase d' logo. The Heroineburgh vending table was in full effect, and these lovely ladies attracted new comic book buyers! More great photos to come tomorrow.

It definitely was! The final day (Sunday) continued the high energy, as we sold lots of comics...and several folks who found out about us even downloaded various episodes later that night. So we finally have a *local* audience, which is nice.

Anyway....here are some photos and video from the final day, where a pitched battle was staged for the benefit of outdoor onlookers!

The actresses assembled for a group shot. From left to right: Dark Spectra (Erika), X-Machina (Serra), Arctica (Bridget) and Sintilla (Alicia).

We will be at Big Apple Comic Con's Summer Expo at the Wyndham New Yorker Hotel on Sat July 24.
https://big-apple-comic-con.ticketleap. ... _at_1000AM

And we will be at Terrificon at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT on July 30 - Aug 1.
The lovely Arctica will be there with us!
And look at this comic book creator lineup: Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner, Donny Cates, Tim Sale, Ron Garney, Dan Jurgens,
Lee Weeks, Jim Starlin, Graham Nolan, Jerry Ordway, Paul Kupperberg, Michael Golden, Al Milgrom, and our pal Billy Tucci!!
https://www.terrificon.com/

So those are the closest we'll get to Boston this year. It's just not possible for us to do a ton of out-of-town Cons so we picked those two carefully (and the other ones we're going to are in other directions, like Central PA or Ohio).

However, our comic books are well represented in the Greater Boston area. You can find our comics at all of these stores:
Paper Asylum (Beverly). Comic Book Palace (Haverhill). Rubber Chicken (Bellingham). Wild Time (Attleboro).
Million Year Picnic (Cambridge).

Yes, occasionally. At 3 Rivers Con, the crowd is smaller and more comic book-oriented, so it hasn't come up. But Steel City Con draws from a wider audience deep in the sticks. At the Steel City Cons in 2019, we talked with one gentleman dressed as Captain America who pretty much knew about the whole SHIP community. But it's not too common, and it's usually among the older crowd.
The gateway word is usually mentioning something like Elektra Woman & Dyna Girl, Black Scorpion or Bill Black's Nightveil Media movies in terms of comparisons (I bring up George Perez's Sisterhood of Superheroines regularly, but nobody seems to know of it).

However, several of our actresses cross over into burlesque, fetish and go-go, so if the topic comes up and everyone is respectful,
those particular actresses are fine talking about it. Pretty sure that some of the Generation X goth/industrial types (some of the actresses are from the local music scene) are quite aware of that aspect. We've never had any real problems yet.

For the millennial and zoomer crowd, none of that seems to be a gateway (which is why we should be worried, to some extent, about the SHIP crowd aging out). Among that crowd, our appeal seems to be more one or more of these aspects:
- Progressivism (LGBT representation and sex-positive feminism)
- Cosplay (They really like the costume designs)
- Anime/manga (A character reminds them of something from a superhero manga, such as My Hero Academia)

Basically, we try to use as many aspects of the series as possible to appeal to different crowds, so it's both "mainstream" and "underground" at the same time. Hope that is a good answer for you, batgirl1969.

Here are a handful more photos of 3 Rivers Con from other social media:

Bridget likes to take closeups of herself as Arctica. You can see the care she takes with her beautiful blue makeup.

A photo that Bridget took of our table setup, featuring the "Anti-Heroineburgh" banner (which we wanted to feature, since
both Sintilla and Vaporia were on hand). Comics on the left are The Edge (by Marvin Wynn) and the ones in the middle are
Music Maker (by our actress Mauricia, who plays Vendetta).

Sintilla captured in transformation mode..we used the 'electrical room' in the comic shop as our dressing room headquarters.
One of the heroines will be featured in a "This is a job for..." sequence in upcoming Episode 20, ducking in and out of that very
room like the classic Superman TV show!

It was hot out there this past weekend, so the costumes needed a good airing-out/washing. Kristin volunteered to take her Jinniyya costume home and wash it out to get it ready for Steel City Con in three weeks. And then she posted on her Facebook, "Even superheroes sometimes have to do laundry!" So wonderful. We'll just call this one "Jinniyya's laundry day."

More goth/industrial than metal, Batgirl1969 (although metal and punk guys do like comics, and they bought some from us).

But as far as Sintilla - that's not her personality to torture a heroine (although we have other villainesses who would, such as Vaporia). She's more in the realm of mischief and mayhem, and pulling the wool over their eyes - the whole "ha ha, look what I can get away with, and you can't stop me!" attitude. Think Catwoman (Julie Newmar + Eartha Kitt).

In fact, Sintilla might be more into getting a spanking herself than being spanked. Alicia posted a whole series of sizzling costume shots from the dressing room (she likes to use the black and white filter) and it kind of makes you wish you were in that room, no? :)

One more that Alicia took, posing by the table with Serra (aka X-Machina). Serra is an incredibly energetic salesgirl - she goes around from booth to booth introducing everyone to Heroineburgh, and gets many people interested with her engaging personality.

Actually..they're on different weekends.
Terrificon is July 30-Aug 1.
Fan Expo Boston is Aug 6-8.
Pretty sure this might be slightly on purpose, as adjacent organizers tend to shy from competing on the same weekend.

Well, we hope to see you if you can make the trek, and if you do, don't forget to bring lots of comics for all of these fantastic
creators to sign!

Yep - that's what the Fan Expo site says now.
We're already doing a Con in Pittsburgh (Momento Con) on that weekend (Labor Day).
But at least Terrificon (July 30-Aug 1) is well separated now.

Hey there! Before heading off next month to New York and Connecticut, we'll be at Steel City Comicon this weekend in world-famous Monroeville at their Convention Center (not too far away from the Mall where George Romero filmed Dawn of the Dead).

Of course William Shatner will be there, so it will be packed on Friday, and probably insane on Saturday. But here is the general
schedule of our character appearances:

Friday - Noon to 3 Arogya (her first time at a Con!)
2 to 5 Mesmera (first time for our new actress)
all day Vendetta

Saturday - Noon to 3 Arctica
2 to 5 X-Machina
all day Vendetta

Sunday - Noon to 3 Sintilla
1 to 3 Dyna

If you can make it, stop by our booth and say hi. If not, hopefully look us up in NYC and CT.

Steel City Comicon June 2021!

The night before, comic book creator Ted Sikora rolled into town and had Alicia sign some books for today (Alicia will be appearing live on Sunday as Sintilla). If you didn't know, Alicia plays not one but TWO supervillainesses..one in Pittsburgh (Sintilla, of course) and one in Cleveland (Regina, the mysterious woman covered in magical glyphs) as the cosplay cover for Ted Sikora's "Bloom" series.

So we were all set up for the Con today, and then our interior artist Wayne Brown (who was behind our table selling his art prints)
got roped by the whip of Michelle Pfeiffer-style Catwoman. So that was unexpected...

Meanwhile across the Convention Center, the beautiful Arogya the Healer (Nupur) and the diabolical Mesmera, mistress of hypnotism, posed for an action shot that soon devolved in an all-out battle of superpowers. What were the odds? (Don't tell me, of course).

X-Machina, mistress of magnetism and machinery, stands happily next to the taller and more imposingly statuesque Arctica.
In the comic, Arctica even puts a move on X-Machina, asking her out for a date after they defeat a monster together.
X-Machina declines, however - mentioning that she already has a boyfriend.

We also took a set of solo poses by X-Machina. Serra, the actress who plays the character, is very enthusiastic and positive about the series, selling copies of the comics all across the convention floor by engaging people with her "magnetic" personality. She also looks very cute in her costume!

Dyna was one of the judges for the teen cosplay competition. Most of the entries dressed up as either video game characters or anime characters...both seem to be very hot amongst the zoomers. (Also on hand was our younger supervillainess Peccadilla, who interpreted all the Japanese names of the anime characters, since the MC of the event was unfamiliar with many of them).

Sintilla helped judge the adult cosplay competition, which was hard fought. In the end, the entrant dressed up as Oaken (from Frozen) won, not only for his costume, but his ability to stay in character throughout the event. Also earning top marks was a Batman Who Laughs and a Mandalorian.

Hey folks - heads up! The date of the mid-summer Big Apple Comicon has changed!
Originally it was Sat July 24 with headliner Jim Lee.

Now suddenly, as of about a week ago, they changed both the date *and* the headliner!
Big Apple's summer Con will now happen on Sat July 17 with headliner Rob Liefeld, still at the New Yorker Hotel.
https://www.bigapplecc.com/
One day only. We hope to see you there if you are in the New York City area. Stop by the Heroineburgh/The Edge vendor booth!

Just a quick heads up to remind anyone in the general NYC/Northern NJ region that Heroineburgh will be vending at Big Apple Comic Con tomorrow (Sat July 17) at the New Yorker Hotel in Manhattan, along with our friend Marvin Wynn of The Edge Comics.

And in addition to the great comic creator lineup (no Rob Liefeld...but they will have Jim Steranko, Al Milgrom, Jim Starlin and Marat Mychaels, among others), we have a special guest to announce:

From Noon to 5 pm, our lovely and talented actress Nupur will be making an appearance in full costume as her character, Arogya the Healer (photo still from upcoming Episode 20 seen below). You can meet her, take photos with her, have her sign your comic book or merch item, and even get a signed 8x11 color photo of Arogya! (we have a limited amount of 20)

Arogya the Healer's favorite catchphrase is "Good things happen when I'm around!" and we believe that will hold true when you meet us and Nupur at Big Apple Comic Con tomorrow. Hope to see you there!

I would have been there but after Rob Liefeld dropped out I decided to pass on it. Plus there is hardly any room to move at that con. You should try and make it to Terrificon at the end of month. That guest list is insane.

We are going to Terrificon, Judah, so hopefully we will see you there. Look for us in Artist Alley and say hi!

Sorry you missed BACC! There was actually plenty of "room to move" at Big Apple Con - the action is spread out among two balconies and multiple large rooms at the New Yorker Hotels (pretty much all the meeting halls on the 2nd Floor). We were located in the Artist Alley room, and it was very easy for the crowd to move through. We even wound up having some extra space to spread out, and to put all of our photo still on an adjacent pillar. Very convenient.

Among other folks, we met the illustrious and gracious DaJinx of Ultraheroix fame...and possibly in the near future, not one but *two* veteran Heroineburgh actresses might cross over into his productions. We shall see....

Also met amazing comic artist and publisher Marat Mychaels (we're working on having him do a variant cover for Issue #3 sponsored by a comic shop in his native Phoenix - hopefully we can do that in the winter) and the crew from the Youtube channel Redonkulous Entertainment, who also publish comics (they're based in Atlantic City). We had Marat sign his Prey for the Sinner Issue #1 (the lead character is a hot sexy heroine out for retribution).

Absolute comics legend Jim Steranko (a fellow PA native) was also gracious enough to talk with us for a few minutes about Heroineburgh and accept copies of our comic. He draws some amazing good-girl style nude pinups for a sexy superheroine calendar that he puts out, and we got him to sign the month of February for us. In case, you're wondering, the heroine is a female version of Yellowjacket.

Finally, a small dream was realized when John O'Hurley (Mr. Peterman from Seinfeld) signed "Kudos..for a job...done" (his exact words to Elaine at his desk) for us. It will be a highly prized first place trophy for our Sein-Trivia contest at the next Festivus celebration here in December.

Our very lovely and talented actress Nupur was in attendance for several hours. She greeted customers and explained her role in the series to them. She signed a stack of color 8x10s for anyone who bought a comic or two. And she posed for various photos - walking around the Con, it was easy for her to attract attention as the most beautiful heroine in the building!

You'll be seeing more of Nupur in Heroineburgh Episode 20 when it comes out in the fall (she also appears in EPs 13, 15, 17 and 18). For future episodes, she may be occasionally shuttling back to Pittsburgh (she recently moved to NYC) and will certainly make more appearances with us whenever we have events in the Big Apple.

What a fun day! (and a very exhausting bus ride, which I must crash and recuperate from)

Our table setup, showing the photo stills on the pillar. We shared the space with our friend Marvin Wynn (of The Edge comics).
We got there at 3 am (due to the bus), hung out at an all-night Taco Bell, then set up promptly at 6 AM as soon as the Con proprietor Mike Carbonara let us in the room. That's why you don't see anything else except the one guy in the background setting up for Steranko.

John O'Hurley signing our photo. Seemed like a fairly nice guy..he didn't get a lot of fan action, most people were there for Steranko and Starlin. So we had a short chat about some of his Seinfeld scenes. It was a toss-up between the scene in Burma and the one behind his desk, but I finally chose this. No photos of the Urban Sombrero, however.

Everywhere Nupur went throughout the Con, people asked her what character she was, what her chest symbol means (it's the "long a" in Hindi, standing for Arogya) and if they could take a photo. So you'll probably see a few up on Instagram soon. For us, Nupur took these official publicity shots. Personally, I think this is the best pose for a superheroine photo - she was able to use the golden cape to its best and most fashionable advantage.

But for those who like the classic superheroine power stance, Nupur is great at that, as well. Long live Arogya the Healer!

Here's my signature haul from the Con: Steranko's pinup calendar, Marat's self-published comic, and the O'Hurley photo. All told, the lot was only $50!

A podcast based in New York City called "The Super P Podcast" interviewed us and did a short scan of the offerings at our table from Heroineburgh and The Edge. The host also asked us about the symbol on Arogya's costume, so we explained it (this was before she arrived).

Here's a photo of the Super P Podcast host (in the Czarface shirt) with Jim Starlin after he bought a drawing of Thanos.

Here's a review of the Big Apple Con on the 'Rock Shock Pop' forum. It's very positive, and the photos show that there was a lot of room to move around, plus a bunch of exciting things to do (including some panels).

Hope to see some folks at Terrificon in CT..as Judah says, it's going to be massive. You will get to meet Bridget (Arctica) there!

Terrificon Day 1:

Friday crowd was somewhat light, but there were already a lot of people standing in line to get their books signed by a couple dozen comics creators within one hour of the doors opening. Personally, I spent that time standing in line (it took almost two hours!) to get my comics signed by Palmiotti and Conner, and then checking in with Billy Tucci (who gave me a cannoli!), Graham Nolan and Paul Mounts, and getting some books signed by them as well. We also met Keith Gleason from Mighty Mascots. All of this happened in a period where not a whole lot of people were checking out Artist Alley yet, so it was fine.

Wound up selling 7 books on the first day. Our Youtube friend "Pop Culture Avenger" stopped by and supported us, and we also got into one more store: Richie's Comic Cabana in Waterbury, CT. Richie was nice and took the time to talk to me and Marvin about our books. He always has his eye on the bottom line, yet we commend him highly for dealing direct.

Took a bunch of photos with Arctica (Bridget) but unfortunately I forgot that I needed to bring an SD card reader while I was going to be away from homebase for four days...so we are going to pick up a card reader at Wal-Mart tomorrow before loading in to the Con
for its 2nd day (of 3).

However, Bridget herself came to the rescue as she took some of her own photos for social media, so luckily I've got these to show
tonight. Tomorrow I'll add the photos I took myself at the Con, as well as some shots that our friend Marvin (The Edge comics) took of some of the sights in Norwich while we were walking around this morning.

Heroineburgh and The Edge table set up at Terrificon. We also carried the "Electronic Saviors" comics: a series of comics about the industrial music scene which involves our friend Jim Semonik (see the new Episode 7 of our "Comicsburgh" series on the Youtube channel to find out more about this Pittsburgh music legend...who is the inspiration for our goth scene villainess Industria!)

We had two different publicity photos for Arctica to sign for fans - one in a 'power pose' stance, and one in an action shot where she is shooting ice from her hands. This is the power pose one which Bridget is holding, still in her nerdy identity as cryogenic physicist
Doctor Greta Bjornsdottir.

Then she transforms into her powerful and beautiful Arctica form where all superheroines must go to change at the Comicon...
in the pristine bathrooms! (which I must commend the Mohegan for keeping very clean) Bridget always does an amazing makeup job with her character. In addition to hanging at our booth, she also walked throughout the convention center's main hall, and over a dozen people stopped to ask her what her character is..."are you Emma Frost?" was a typical guess. Then, she gives them the information about Heroineburgh and sends them to our booth!

Looking forward to seeing lots more people at the Mohegan Sun in the next two days. Just be good and don't fall afoul of the Mohegan Tribe's own police force - they look ready to tackle any possible trouble!

A lot more went down at Terrificon on Day 2.

Marvin and I each sold about 20 sets of comics, and we met IMSancho from the Forum and had a nice talk (thanks for stopping by the table!).

Bridget (Arctica) took some amazing, gorgeous photos, both for us and for dozens of fans all across the Con floor, many of whom asked her if she was Emma Frost, which is the "hook" that gets them to stop and talk with her about Heroineburgh, so she can send them over to our table as Arctica. It works great!

A gorgeous power pose on the convention floor! (photo by fan James Fulton). Just when you think Bridget can't get any more statuesque in that costume, she keeps surprising us with her effectiveness.

Comic creator panelists Justin Gray, Frank Tieri, Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner discuss "Writing With Attitude". The discussion comes to a humorous standstill when someone mentions the "Batawang" incident (in the recent Black Label book). That bald chap in the front row watching the panel? None other than Graham Nolan, creator of Bane!

After having Jimmy and Amanda sign a whole bunch of their various comic creations (including Phantom Lady and Doll Man #1, colored by Heroineburgh's own cover artist Jason Wright!), I showed off the results on the Spine Ticks Youtube channel, which was streaming that night from 11:30 onward. Here's my copy of the Power Girl "Power Trip" TPB, signed by Palmiotti, Conner, Paul Mounts and Justin Gray - the only signature it's missing from the front cover is Geoff Johns!

Marvin, myself and Bridget (Arctica) gave a Terrificon Day report for Spine Ticks until about 1:30 am in the morning, and then we went to bed to prepare for Day 3. Here, Bridget informs the Spine Ticks audience about the secret origin of Arctica (as Icelandic cryogenic physicist Dr. Greta Bjornsdottir) and how the character has a tendency to flirt passionately with the other superheroines, lusting after their spandex-clad bodies (it's an on-going joke for Arctica in the series). The colder her powers, the hotter her desire!

Terrificon Day 3:

Sunday is always a shorter day, where you try to catch up with anyone you haven't made official contact with, and support some
creators that you haven't given support to yet. By the end of the day, for example, Marvin and I were able to communicate with
several more comic shops and get information to them (which may or may not bear fruit in the near future). And one shop actually
took books on the spot to stock in their store: Richie's Comic Cabana (Waterbury CT) who had initially turned me down by phone.
So on that basis, I crept towards 175 stores stocking Heroineburgh Comics which is a nice number.

By the end of the day, I had supported many indie creators and acquired the following comics:

- Foxglove #1 by Boston-based HB Comics. "Foxglove" is a very sexy brunette who protects the streets of Providence RI and is kind of a combination between Black Scorpion, Huntress and Black Cat. Great mask, shapely tight costume, and gets into peril (including getting stabbed and bleeding everywhere). I also acquired HB Comics' "Team Synergy" TPB about a team of five teenage superheroines who are all cousins and trained by their great-grandmother (so...Teen Titans meets Dynamo 5, I guess). The art in the book is somewhat cutesy and cartoony but the real sexy prize is the villainess Red Queen who has a beautiful mask, hood and cape and a tight red bodysuit - her eyes are always glowing with evil as she plots her schemes with anger and malice - hot stuff!

- Mavrics #1, a comic about mecha-warriors in a global conflict by Global Frequency Studios. They were selling the oversized 9x12 ashcans for $1 while the TPB itself is still being produced for their ongoing Indiegogo campaign. Aaron Neffarious and Freq Girl (Kim) were very nice, and gave us some shine on their video livestream near the end of the day (see below), coming by our table and spending $43 on Pittsburgh products. Here's a still from that.

- PopKill #1 by Jimmy Palmiotti & Dave Johnson, on Jimmy's Paperfilms label. The story is about a ruthless competition between Japanese soda-pop companies involving secret formulas and assassinations. It's sexy and violent in a classic 1980s movie style, and there are lots of great sexy sketches at the end of the book. Worth the $10 for sure, especially with signature.

- Starring Sonya Devereaux by the Fraim Brothers (on American Mythology). The "Sonya" concept is about a B-movie actress who stars in different genre films, and each comic is the story of one of those films. The two issues I selected were a sword-and-sorcery barbarian film ("Warrior Woman and Death Team 5") where Sonya is the lead character as a Valkyrie-style sword-swinging heroine; and a superheroine film ("Violet Vixen") where Sonya plays an actress who gets powers from an alien race with an interesting sense of humor (so maybe a little like 'Greatest American Heroine'). The Violet Vixen costume, however, is super hot, and there are a couple of great transformation scenes in the comic, as well as some nice peril. Remember Randy Moore as Ultravixen in the Jim Weathers bondage videos? The costume looks pretty much like that (which I would assume is total coincidence).
violet vixen.jpg
violet vixen.jpg (219.42 KiB) Viewed 10197 times
- The Chenoo, a horror comic by legendary creator Graham Nolan (Bane). This had been one of the big Indiegogo / Comicsgate campaigns of the past year, and I hadn't backed it because I wasn't into horror comics (The Chenoo is somewhat similar to a Wendigo beast). But I took the plunge and spent the $30, which included Nolan's signature. We'll see if the comic increases in worth.

- Spicy Pulp 5!, a sexy adventure book by Justin Gray (co-writer of the Power Girl TPB, among other things). The cover is a homage to a certain issue of Love & Rockets from the 80s, showing a bunch of very hot alien chicks in tight prison costumes. The lead character is Lady Redbeard, a pirate queen who spends almost all of the issue naked, even while fighting. The story has echoes of both Heavy Metal and Penthouse Comix series (like Doctor Dare and Taarna). The backup tales are: 1) Dude-Bro the Barbarian, in which a Conan-like character takes a backseat to his female sidekick, and there is a considerable amount of sex and feminism in it; and 2) a story about a girl who builds mecha-robot warriors on a wasteland planet, with a manga style to the art. Justin Gray signed the book.

- Chadhiyana by New Jersey's JM De Santis on his label Dark Fire Press. He was our next door neighbor at the Con, and very courteous, friendly and helpful. Chadhiyana is an Indian version of Red Sonja, an accomplished brown-skinned sword-wielding warrior who defends the honor of women by fighting various monsters. There are three different stories in the book with three different art styles (only one of which I really liked), so that's a bit distracting, but the character itself is impressive because you don't see an Indian heroine a lot outside of some comics from India itself. I hope DeSantis does way more with this character while also perhaps getting some actual Indian artists to sign on who can make this character a lot more beautiful and sexy in the classic Bollywood actress style.

Also in addition to the PopKill previously mentioned, I got the following books signed:
- Roll Hard (Adventurist); Shi the Series #10 (Crusade); Lady Death/Shi #2 (Avatar)...all by Billy Tucci
- Cloudburst (Image) ; Starfire 'A Matter of Time' TPB; Harley Quinn & Birds of Prey #1 and #3 (Black Label, DC);
Queen Crab TPB (Image) including a sketch!; The Last Resort TPB (IDW); Power Girl 'Power Trip' TPB (DC)...all by
Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner

Bridget took some of her own photos as Arctica advertising our various products, and here she is with the comics.

I brought our Painkiller Jane and Power Girl action figures over to Jimmy Palmiotti to see if he would do some kind of short promotional video for us, putting the characters in battle positions. His idea was to have Painkiller Jane put her gun to Power Girl's head and force her to 'go on a date' (as a euphemism). Watch for the video to be uploaded to our Youtube channel. That scenario was totally Jimmy's idea, not mine. He seemed rather pleased with himself.

Hello Heroineburgh.

Was great to finally meet you. I stopped by the table and said hello. Terrificon was incredible. After almost two years away from the Con scene it was great to be back. I didn't realize how popular Jimmy Palmiotti or Joe Giella were, they had some of the longest lines. Al Milgrom did a punisher sketch for me and Artist Gary Deslauries did a Batman one. All in all it was a fun time.

Off to Baltimore Comic Con. Hope to see you there. Bring Sintilla next time.

Hi Judah!

I'm sorry that you didn't introduce yourself as being from SHF, that would have been fantastic. But I'm super glad you stopped by.
Yes Jimmy and Amanda were signing machines! We got a special little Painkiller Jane/Power Girl video with Jimmy which I will upload soon.

We won't be at Baltimore Comic Con - you have to plan *really* far in advance for it, and it's more expensive to vend at.
Maybe at some point next year we'll work ourselves up to that level. It's definitely an important one. We're also considering
Heroes Con in Charlotte and MegaCon in Orlando next year. And of course "For The Fans" Fest, if it happens.

This list is subject to change, but here's whom you will meet at the following upcoming Cons we are definitely vending at:

Aug 13 - 15 Steel City Con. Jinniyya on Friday. Gardenia and Vendetta on Saturday. Peccadilla, Mesmera and Vaporia on Sunday.
Sep 4 - 5 Momento Con. Vendetta on Saturday. heroine tbd on Sunday. (It's a new 'Supernatural' Con in Downtown Pittsburgh)
Sep 23 - 25 Mountaineer Con (Morgantown WV) Arctica on Friday. Vendetta on Saturday. Sintilla on Sunday.
Oct 8 - 10 Sci-Fi Valley Con (Altoona PA) Sintilla on Friday and Saturday. (We won't be there on Sunday)
Oct 16 - 17 Three Rivers Comicon. heroines tbd.
Nov 6 - 7 SPACE (Columbus OH) heroines tbd.
We are working on returning to New England for a Thanksgiving Weekend Comicon Nov 26-28 in the suburbs outside of Boston.
If that congeals (and it's looking more likely now), I'll post the details here!

Steel City Con report for all three days! (Aug 13-15)

Day 1:

The celebrities at this particular Con were popular but not particularly the ones I wanted to see (Meat Loaf, Robert Englund, Judith Hoag, cast of the Warriors, Walking Dead actors, atc), so we mainly concentrated on promoting Heroineburgh and selling the comics
at the booth. By the end of three days, we had sold 48 comics, which is a new record for us! Marvin from The Edge, Grant from Beowulf, and Wayne Brown (our interior artist) were also at the table selling their works, and everyone did well at about the same level of sales.

Day 1 featured the guest appearance by Kristin who plays Jinniyya, the Arabic superwoman. She definitely has some admirers on Youtube, but the Con audience got to know her better, as well, as she walked around the Con with her boyfriend (who is a pinup
artist for our comics).

Here, Jinniyya is displayed her "mastery of the wind" by controlling a burst of smoke from her mouth. We did this with the help of the "Sub-Zero" ice cream vendor (my cousin works in one of their stores).

An epic 2021 return to Comicon season continues....

Possibly a longshot for anyone on the Forum, but this weekend (Sept 24-26) we're going to be vending in the Artist Alley
at Mountaineer Con in Morgantown, WV - joined by our fellow Pittsburgh comics creators from The Edge and Beowulf.

Among the celebrities at the Con will be some luminaries from The Flash, Titans, Smallville and Power Rangers.
I'll try to get some photos.

And we'll have a different Heroineburgh actress each day: Arctica (Fri), Vendetta (Sat), and Vaporia (Sun).

We'll post some action shots here, starting tomorrow.

Day 1 of Mountaineer Con, Morgantown WV.

Heroineburgh staffed a booth in Artist's Alley with fellow "Comicsburgh" creator Marvin (The Edge) and Grant (Beowulf).
We sold about 15 copies of Issues #1 and #2.

Amazing actress Bridget made her appearance as Arctica, queen of the frost. Lots of Con-goers asked her if she was cosplaying Emma Frost (either that, or they couldn't guess her character), which brought people to check out the booth. She signed lots of copies of Issue #1, which has an Arctica story inside.

A very fun discussion panel with John Wesley Shipp, who played Barry Allen (Flash) in the 1990s show and now plays Jay Garrick (Golden Age Flash) in the current Flash show on the CW. He had tons of great stories about the classic show - did you know that
they made four Flash costumes for him, all with the puffed-up foam muscles, and they cost a total of $100,000?

One thing I realized is that Shipp currently has the record for the longest continuous portrayal of a superhero character (from 1990 to 2021 - The Flash). Although it'll be broken soon when Michael Keaton makes an appearance as an alternate universe Batman in the upcoming Flash movie (or so I've heard).

Although you can see John Wesley Shipp's signing booth behind her, as well as that of John Glover (Lionel Luthor of Smallville), the real "celebrity guest" is Bridget as the amazing Arctica, queen of the frost! Or at least, we like to think so.

Looking forward to tomorrow and Sunday!

Arctica (Bridget) knows that she looks amazing, and wears her perfect shapely majesty with grace and gusto!

Highlights from Mountaineer Con Days 2 and 3 go here. Foolishly, I forgot to bring the DSLR camera on Day 2, so we had to use Mauricia's phone to capture some moments. Because of that, I didn't get to take a close-up photo of the Smallville panel which
included John Glover (Lionel Luthor) and Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor). But I saw a bit of the panel, and I can attest to the fact that they are gracious and funny guys, and every seat was packed (probably about 300 watching).

On Day 2, Vendetta (Mauricia) joined us at the Comicsburgh booth. We made more new fans (including a passel of friends from Monongahela, PA who bought a bunch of episodes on the spot as well the comics - I think they're going to have a Heroineburgh
watch party!). We added TWO new stores to our ever-growing retail list - one in WV and one in MD. And we found a potential
new actress who has lots of experience in the horror genre and wanted to don a fantastic costume and become a heroine! More
on that after she comes up to Pittsburgh (Morgantown is only 90 minutes away) for an audition in a couple weeks.

Here's Vendetta strutting her stuff, and wielding those deadly escrima sticks in various poses.

And a short promo video, shot by the stage where they do the panels.

Vaporia was unable to attend with us on Day 3. So here are a handful of photos from the cosplay contest which happened this afternoon! We're also very excited about the actress who will audition with us in a couple weeks - certain factors will determine
whether she takes over the role of Devana or Lunessa...we'll see.

So, the cosplay contest wasn't too long of an affair. Morgantown being a smaller Con, there were about 60 entrants, and everyone got a chance to speak into the mic and show off their stuff (there were no kids /teens / adult categories like Steel City has).

Here's the beginning of the cosplay line.

The female predator was my clear favorite. I'm pretty sure she won one of the main prizes.

This Spider-Gwen was also nice..although most cosplayers who wear this costume simply order it on the Internet.

We said farewell to West Virginia and drove the 90 minutes home while it was still light outside. Our next adventure will be in two weeks at Sci-Fi Valley Con in Altoona, PA (about 2 hours away). We will be presenting a "Comicsburgh" panel there with Pittsburgh comics creators and the showing of the latest Heroineburgh episode. It's also very exciting to see that Youtube icons Clownfish TV (Kneon and Geeky) will be there running a booth (they have a comic called "Shadowbinders") and a panel as well. We look forward to seeing them again, and anyone else who stops by!

This isn't technically cosplay, but here's a Heroineburgh-related event to tide you over until we go to Altoona PA for Sci-Fi Valley Con next weekend. Tonight, we celebrated the wedding of Steph, who plays diabolical supervillainess Dysphoria in several episodes of the series. I was actually the wedding photographer (along with one other friend) and caught dozens of shots of the wedding party and guests - pretty much all the action. The wedding was held at the iconic Andy Warhol Museum.

The notable thing is that there were FIVE Heroineburgh actors at the wedding: not just Steph, but also Christina (Poderosa), P.J. (Arcana), Barbara (Indarra) and Alexi (Canis the Hound). Pretty amazing! Here are some Heroineburgh-related photos from the event. Congratulations to Steph and new husband Cass!

Steph (Dysphoria) was a goddess in white. You can't quite tell here, but she had on a tight white dress with lots of lace and a beautiful train.

Christina (Poderosa) is one of Steph's close friends, and she showed up in a stunning black lacy outfit - kind of like what one might wear at an Italian funeral. Absolutely gorgeous. 2nd photo is with her brother, Tony (who did some 2nd camera work on EP19).

P.J. (Arcana) came to the wedding with her new girlfriend, Shawnee. She had on a glittery tight rainbow dress which displayed ample cleavage. She specifically asked me to take this photo, since she wanted to show off her entire outfit right down to her shoes.

Barbara (Indarra) is usually more of a rock 'n roller, but tonight she arrived in a light green pleated dress which had a gem-studded collar and belt. She said she was somewhat uncomfortable in it, but she looked amazing. Here, she does the Marilyn Monroe pose.

And finally, Alexi (Canis the Hound) was the MC who kept things on track, from the ceremony schedule to the family 'roasts'. His commentary was usually on point. Then we cleared out of the Museum at 10:30 and re-grouped at a bar near my house. And thus concludes the Heroineburgh social chatter for the week!

Oh boy, did we have a fantastic time in our two days (Oct 8-9) at Sci-Fi Valley Con in Altoona, PA!

At our vending booth, we introduced hundreds to Heroineburgh as well as The Edge and Beowulf comics, and sold a couple dozen copies to new fans. We also met Neil from Comics Vault and Robert from Codex Comics who have been stocking our issues.

On Friday the three comics creators (including myself) and actress Casey (Stellara) appeared on a "Comicsburgh" panel, showing the latest episode of Heroineburgh, and presenting all three of our comic book titles to a small but attentive audience. At least two of the members of that panel audience then marched directly to our table and bought all of the titles.

Also watching our panel was Geeky Sparkles from Clownfish TV, who were vending downstairs with their Shadowbinders comics. We returned the favor, watching their 2 pm panel on Saturday which featured the whole Clownfish family from Punxsutawney PA (Kneon, Geeky, and their kids Squid King and Pinky Boo) talking about their popular Youtube channel and their future plans.

And most importantly, supervillainess Stellara (Casey) helped greatly to promote the videos and comics both at our booth and by constantly walking around both floors of the Con, causing heads to turn wherever she went. At least a handful of con-goers seemed to profess a definite crush on her, and who could blame them with her tight and shiny blue spandex costume. Meanwhile, plenty of kids were more than happy to take photos with a friendly character who looks like an honest-to-goodness superheroine (she got quite a few guesses that she might be Stargirl!). All praises to Casey who did a tremendous job repping the series.

We recommend this Con highly to anyone looking for a great balance between creatives, celebrities & games. Also met Neil from Comics Vault and Robert from Codex Comics. We'll be back next year for sure!

Stellara meets what looked like a female R2D2! The droid was ambling through the aisles, guided by its invisible handler.
Right behind her are some "drainium" (aka amethyst) necklaces which Stellara might be using to drain the powers of a superb
heroine in a future custom video. Oh no, we've said too much! (or probably, just enough)

Easy enough to find a Sci-Fi Valley Con banner - they were all over the Convention Center. Stellara power-poses at the Con entrance.

The Clownfish TV panel lasted about an hour. L to R: Geeky Sparkles, Squid King, Pinky Boo, Kneon. We heard the whole story of their Youtube channel, some info on their current pop-culture coverage, and some future plans. A wonderful family!

Oh noes! Stellara has found herself in peril as she is trapped by the negative-energy wall, draining her of all of her solar power.
Will she escape the containment by the Heroine League, and resume her plans to subdue and defeat the heroines of Pittsburgh?
Only time will tell, but Casey definitely pulls off a very nice supervillainess-in-distress!

Hey! We're gonna be at Three Rivers Comicon "Lite" this coming weekend (Oct 16-17) in the Homestead Waterfront parking lot right outside the New Dimension Comics shop, sharing out table as usual with our "Comicsburgh" friends Marvin (The Edge) and Grant (Beowulf). All of the booths are under tents, and the weather should be clear after Noon on Sat, and all day Sunday.

We're also sponsoring the appearance of legendary storyboard artist J. Todd Anderson, who worked on pretty much all the Coen Brothers movies. He's coming from Dayton OH and will be selling his Big Lebowski storyboard book - you can get it 're-marked' and autographed by him.

If everything goes as planned, we'll have at least a handful of heroines with us both on Sat and Sun, including (hopefully) the Con debut of Indarra (the Basque supervillainess with the green hair and the tight black catsuit, portrayed by the lovely Barbara). Hope to see anyone there who lives close enough to come. We'll post photos in a few days.

Well...not everything went as planned, as the rain kept a lot of early-bird people away from Three Rivers Con on Saturday.
It didn't really stop until around 3 pm or so, which meant that the appearance of J Todd Anderson was washed out, and the
heroines for the first day stayed home because it was cold and wet, and nobody wants to freeze in their spandex. Some of
them will instead appear at Steel City Con which will be indoors in mid-December. After 3 pm, however, the attendance
picked up and we did sell a fair amount of books considering the shortened time period.

And Sunday was fine! Sunny almost the entire day, if a bit cold and windy, and we did better with comic sales among the
three creators (The Edge and Beowulf in addition to Heroineburgh). Our heroine special appearance on Sunday was the lovely
and talented Tiffany as Darbouka - mistress of sound. Walking around the Con, she took photos with fans (some of whom initially guessed that she might be Enchantress) and helped us sell and sign comics at the booth (Darbouka has some adventures with the
Heroine League in Issue #2).

Also, we talked with some great creators such as Don Simpson (Megaton Man) and Michael Gilbert, who was selling copies of his Elric of Melnibone and Mr. Monster trade books. Our booth was actually located next to Shawn Gabborin, who was the Editor-In-Chief of Action Lab Comics and issues a bunch of his own titles, including an adaptation of the Puppet Master horror franchise. It looks like Don Simpson will be doing a heroine pinup for us for Issue #3, which is totally in line with our theme because he's from Pittsburgh.

Next up: Akron Comicon in the first weekend of November!

Yes, we went to NYC, back in July for Big Apple Con (see the posts from 3 months ago).

But no, we did not go to NYCC. The biggest Cons are just too expensive for us, Batgirl1969, and I can only get off work so much.
We tend to stick with the mid-size Cons (like Terrificon and Steel City) and some of the smaller ones.

Our next appearance will be at Akron Comicon in Ohio Nov 6-7, featuring Sintilla! I hear that it's a great event.
We have a lot of stores in Northeast and Central Ohio selling our comic, so we look forward to meeting many customers in person.

Meanwhile, here's another photo that was just posted from Altoona's Sci-Fi Valley:
It was a lifelong dream of our wonderful actress Casey (Stellara) to meet one of the most important animation voice actors
of her childhood: Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh, Tazmanian Devil, Darkwing Duck). And it finally came true!

Are you guys gonna be at Rhode Island Comic Con next weekend? The guest list is massive. The Cons guest list never disappoints, except when they have cancellations. Its not a huge Con on the level of Baltimore or NYC but its not a small one either.

No, I'm sorry, Judah. Rhode Island Con has been recommended to us highly (at CT's Terrificon in July, people were mentioning it) and I wish we could, but I work on weekends at a job which is difficult to find replacements for, and I'm already taking off this coming weekend *and* Thanksgiving Weekend. Since you're in or near Rhode Island, if you can drive up to Boxborough MA for Northeast Con (it's one hour from Providence) we will be there on Nov 26-28. Would love to meet more New England SHIPpers! (I know we met one poster from this forum at Terrificon, which was great)

So, AkronCon and Northeast Con is all we have remaining for out-of-town this year, and then we'll be at Steel City in December.

If you're in or near Northeast Ohio, come and say hi to myself and Sintilla (Alicia) in Cuyahoga Falls this weekend (logo is below).
Apparently we're having dinner Saturday night with premier Cleveland comics creator Ted Sikora (who employs Alicia as the cosplay cover model for his comic 'Bloom') so that will be fun, too. Tony Isabella will be there, too, so I'm going to try to get at least one Black Lightning-related item signed. Check https://www.akroncomicon.com for the schedule - we're at vending booth V26.

I wont be able to make it to NE Comic Con due to attending Rhode Island Comic Con and I wont be able to get to Akron because of Thanksgiving. But I plan on attending Steel City. Im just hoping Peter Weller doesn't cancel. He cancelled the last couple of Cons I was going to see him at. Been trying to get him to autograph my Robocop photo. See you there.

Had a great time at our first Ohio comicon this past weekend! (Sat and Sun).

Here's something dumb, though: we were halfway to Akron when I realized I had left the Sintilla costume in its usual bag, right inside the door of my house (it was stacked with the other stuff, ready to go, but I forgot to put it in the car). From now on, we use a checklist! :)

Anyway, that didn't really impede us much from doing well at our Ohio comicon debut: I sold out of *all* the copies of both Issue 1 and 2 that I brought (although I gave the final 2 copies to Tony Isabella - see below). We got two new stores in Northeast Ohio to take copies of both issues, and I re-upped with a third store who had sold out of Issue #2. Total of 28 more copies to Ohio stores! (This puts us close to 190 stores total which stock Heroineburgh Comics).

Alicia is, of course, always amazing, and even without her costume, she always has beautiful outfits to wear - this time, she helped us sell comics (and signed a couple dozen Sintilla 8x10 photos!) in a slinky black casual dress, high boots, and tight shiny spandex pants. No complaints there. So, Sintilla was there in top civilian form.

I actually sold one customer the entire Heroineburgh video collection on two thumb drives! (21 full-length episodes and 3 customs)
That definitely never happened before. Hopefully he will become one of our biggest fans.

We went out to dinner on Saturday night with Akron's premier comics publisher Ted Sikora (whose 'Bloom' comic features Alicia on the cosplay cover edition, as the main character, Regina). We met a frequent Youtube chatter from the CG channels - Rick Saylor, who lives nearby in Akron and now has both of our issues. And very significantly, we struck up a friendship with Tony Isabella, creator of Black Lightning, Tigra and Misty Knight (he now has both issues of Heroineburgh Comics, and Season 2 of the video series on a thumb drive!).

Tony did an excellent panel where he went over the entire history of his creation of Black Lightning and the other characters, and his involvement with Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and the Black Lightning TV show. It was very enlightening and entertaining, and I got to ask a couple of questions about the TV show (where he said they treated him with great respect).

Also, as mentioned in my FemForce post, I picked up issues 174 - 187 of FemForce, and found some other great comics with sexy superheroines in spandex, such as Critter, the heroine created by Tom Hutchinson of Big Dog Ink from Grand Rapids MI. I could only afford the Critter graphic novel #1, but I'll get the other three later. Highly recommended character!

Here's a photo of Tony Isabella during his panel:

Next, we'll be at NortheastCon 30 miles outside of Boston in Boxboro, MA for Thanksgiving Weekend Nov 26-28. If you're in the New England area, come and check us out! (supervillainess Stellara will be in attendance, in her full blue spandex costume!)

I'll be there in Boxborough at least one day. It's about 20 minutes from me.

I have bittersweet memories of that con.

In 2018, while I was there, my mom was diagnosed with cancer and died six months later.

In 2019, I met Peter Scolari of Bosom Buddies and Newhart. He passed a few weeks ago.
