Femalien: Cosmic Crush (Full Moon Features, 2020)

Just saw this in a Facebook ad. Definitely targeted to the right demographic!

To be honest I didn't know much about Charles Band and Empire Films / Full Moon Films (with movie series such as Trancers and Puppet Master) because low-budget horror wasn't necessarily my thing, but now I'm fully informed. This is a guy who has been working on the level of Troma or Corman or Golan-Globus, for pretty much the same length of time!

This movie (which I understand might actually be the *third* Femalien flick, not sure?) is like Cleopatra 2525 meets Alien, but sexier.
The plot seems pretty standard softcore sci-fi porn but it could be rewarding. Not sure how they're getting away with using the name "Thanagarian" in the plot..maybe DC Comics just doesn't care about their more obscure trademarks?

Anyway here's the trailer on Film Threat. First two "episodes" come out on Dec 11 and Dec 18.

Love to know your thoughts, and also if you have more experience with Charles Band's oeuvre.

I've seen at least 2 Femalien films but about 10 years ago so don't know if they are part of this series or not. They were a kind of X files - Species cross, second one in a 3d format.
Don't recall much about them I'm afraid.

Yes, the two previous installments are listed as 1996 and 1998, and then a third movie called "Femaliens" was released in 2017, apparently using only archival footage from the first two. Those were all directed by Cybill Richards.

This would be the 'long-awaited' third one, but it is technically the fourth. It just seems to be a spin-off of the earlier franchise with
no real relation: none of the actors or characters are the same, and the director is different (Lindsey Schmitz).

For some reason, this is being released in at least two segments. They must have had a lot of footage that they didn't want to waste.

I guess X-Files / Species makes as much sense as Cleopatra 2525 / Alien or maybe Charlie's Angels / Stargate.

You had a Mulder Scully partnership getting it on as they tracked down the eponymous hero who was sleeping with folks to stay alive, if I remember it right. Second one was more of the same with two pairs of agents but

I think one turned out to be an alien pair pretending. So you weren't sure if they were baddies after her or trying to find her to save her
