So this pretty much came out of nowhere (or, at least, I haven't seen it announced anywhere on Youtube until today).

The characters from 2005's Sharkboy and Lavagirl have grown up, and Robert Rodriguez made a sequel which debuts on Jan 1, 2021.
Believe me, it's no longer any kind of problem checking out Taylor Dooley who returns as the adult Lavagirl in her classic costume.
Taylor Lautner did not return as Sharkboy (maybe he wanted too much money?) but it looks like another good actor will assume the role.

There is also an entire league of adult superheroes, as well as a group of their offspring who also have powers, and have to save them.
The "Heroics" adult team includes characters played by Christian Slater and Pedro Pascal (man, is he busy!) so that should definitely be worth checking out.

That is a fantastic costume - very Power Rangers.
Can't wait to see some great Lavagirl cosplay once things loosen up enough for the Cons!

Aaaaannnnnd....the activist shill media can't leave anyone alone these days, as seconds after this movie is announced, Taylor Dooley is already undermined and attacked. IMHO, she can have whatever political opinion she wants as long as she is awesome onscreen!

Watched this one last week, and sorry to say it's not really worth the time. It's a juvenile movie with not much to recommend to adults or to hold their attention. Most of the movie involves the kids with powers trying to save the world and rescue their parents.
Only a small part of the movie shows the adult superheroes fighting foes, and they are quickly defeated (there might be a very quick peril shot or two in the first few minutes where that happens).

The grown-up Lavagirl looks great in her costume, but it's not shown very much, just at the beginning and the end. Meanwhile there are two other heroines who are also wearing spandex superheroine costumes - Brittany Russell as Red Lightning Fury and Jamie Perez as Invisi Girl (both shown below). They're also not seen that much, and the fact there are no clear screen shots of them on the Internet means that the people involved in the movie didn't think it was important enough to promote their characters. Which is a shame, because they're beautiful in their costumes, especially Perez, whose Invisi Girl outfit is very tight and shiny the way we like it here on the Forum. Unfortunately, she is drastically underutilized.

Here is the best I could find, only in group shots. I'd say skip this flick unless you have a family to entertain.
