A new video surfaced that adds some new scenes (the first 6 seconds) to the two already published teasers.
If you will a sort of teaser compilation ;)

Some speculate that the thug at the very beginning might be Scarecrow....

The more I see of her the more hope I have for the 2nd season, she just seems to really bring good vibes to the role and that new batsuit looks incredible.

^ A trailer!
A real trailer!
A REAL TRAILER!!!!!

Excited as hell right now!
Love the creepy start in the trailer with Alice doing what she can do best ;-)
Wonder what her beef with Julia here is?
Ryan will have a rough start she will need to persuade Mary and Luke that she can be the new heroine the city need.
Sophie and Jacob should now finally realise that Batwoman was Kate the whole time....

38 days to go!

Right in time for Christmas interesting new material have just surfaced!

Here is the new promo poster:

Image

-

Really like that one!
As soon I got a really big sized version, I will order a poster and hang it up next to the season 1 poster I had ordered last year.
-

But that's not it...here is the detailed synopsis for season 2:

In season two of BATWOMAN, when Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) first discovers Kate Kane's Batsuit, she has no idea how drastically her life is about to change. A sassy, smart lesbian with a difficult past, Ryan sees the suit as her chance to finally be powerful and no longer a victim as she survives in the tough streets of the city.
While Ryan goes rogue in the shadows, Gotham grapples with their missing hero, believing Batwoman has fled the city after a public stand-off with Commander Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott) and the Crows. But Kate Kane's disappearance hits hardest at home where Jacob, Sophie (Meagan Tandy), Luke (Camrus Johnson), Mary (Nicole Kang) and even Alice (Rachel Skarsten) each struggle with the devastating news in their own way.
Meanwhile, the False Face Society tightens its grip on Gotham, distributing a perilous new drug known as Snakebite, "Bruce Wayne" (Warren Christie) finds his way home to wreak havoc, Safiyah (Shivaani Ghai) surfaces with plans for revenge, and a new set of villains descends on the city.
It's not long before Ryan realizes how much the symbol on the suit means to Gotham, launching her on a personal journey that takes her from fledgling substitute to confident caped crusader, from living in her van with her plant to chasing villains in the Batmobile. Ryan Wilder becomes a very different Batwoman than Kate Kane - her own Batwoman - but with the same understanding of what it means to be a hero.

Starring Javicia Leslie, Dougray Scott, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang, and Camrus Johnson.

-

Interesting new details in this juicier synospsis!
Kate missing, Alice still on the loose, False Face Society, false Bruce Wayne and Safiyah appearing in Gotham.
Sounds like quite a LOT happening in good old Gotham... ;-)
Bring it on, I'm very excited for the new season!
7 months have past until the end of season 1, finally in 4 weeks the waiting comes to an end!

Season 2 of Batwoman is only 4 DAYS away as it starts THIS SUNDAY, January 17 at the CW at 8pm!
After no fresh episodes since May I'm more than hyped! :-)
Some interviews and news surfaced the last days:
-
Safiyah is one of the big villains in season 2, we know that for quite a while now. She was already mentioned a few times in season 1 and has some connections to Alice and Kate(?).
Shivaani Ghai was casted for that role.
Now we get some first look images + an interesting text on EW:
https://ew.com/tv/batwoman-season-2-safiyah-first-look/
-
Now we got news that infamous villain Black Mask also joins the villains of season 2 on the show!
No info on the actor who will play him are out yet....but damn, that's great news!
I always liked his role in the comics and his appearance was one of the plus points of the Birds of Prey movie.
More on that on the EW as well:

Some interestings interviews with Javicia Leslie, the new Batwoman:

(incl. some sexy pictures of Javicia!)

Trivia fact:
Did you know that Javicia actually was born in the same country as I was? ;-)

^ I am very skeptical when I read "review" on something which isn't even aired yet even she has seen the first two episodes.
It should read has a "preview" or something like that in the title, or "review of the first 2 episodes" and not "season 2 review".
Lately I found way too many magazines, websites judging whole shows or seasons with a final verdict after viewing the first episodes of them.
But she does a good job on that review of the first two episodes. I like channels that aren't run by some cynical troll that makes fun of everything in his videos.
Also good that there are no spoilers in it.

I posted back in October I felt her face was too round for the underchin cowl and is it me or are they going out of their way to light and illustrate her as if she has a jaw line?

She's a pretty enough girl and all and I wish her well but I don't think that style of mask suits her face. Rose had a lean face and looked good in the costumel but like a 12 year old boy out of it,
I would have preferred a different headpiece for the new girl myself is all.

Any thoughts?

I agree, but I don't feel as strongly as you do. I think she'd look better, maybe, with a Spider-Woman style 'top half of face covered' type mask, maybe with her eyes covered as well.

Well, have to her in the suit and cowl in the episodes to have a full opinion on it.
Of course it looks kind of odd ...at first... as they put a new face in a mask that was covering up someone else before.
But that should go away swiftly.
And I'm glad they didn't change the cowl. I was feared that would somehow downsize it to a horrible, horrible thing like this:
https://static2.cbrimages.com/wordpress ... 0026h=1137
(I'm talking about just the mask ;-) )

However I am glad they now use the cowl again that Ruby had on from episode 3-10 as it has a chin strap unlike the one they used afterwards.
I like it when masks are are well secured. ;) ...to offer some...."challenge".
As it happens I made another page last year about the 4 different cowls of season 1 on my blog:
https://maskripper.org/batwoman-season- ... cw-tv-show

Will update this one when I have seen the first episodes.
And the new Batwoman will start with the old costume in the first two episodes (with the red wig on the cowl) and then get her new suit in episode 3 as it was told.

So, a little over 3 hours left until episode 1 is shown on the CW! (8PM)
Due to the time difference I can't see it live (would be 2AM here) but I will tomorrow (and I'm jealous about all who actually can watch it live)
As in season 1 I will write my "little" review for the blog, this site and others after I watched it.

Yeah, but of course Alice did tell Jacob to torture him. Why not?
And also the fact that there was a letter for Sophie in case something would happen to Kate/Batwoman makes total sense as well.
The question is if that will have any consequences as it isn't safe to say that Kate will return to the show. Even I think she will at the end of the season.

Read this morning that ratings were down 80% from the show's debut last year. Of course they were competing with football so we'll see how it does week 2. 1st episode was ok, still suffering from the weak writing most of these programs seem to have, but Javica looks amazing as Batwoman and I thought handled the role well. Hopefully ratings rebound next week.

^ The ratings aren't final yet. Especially the 18-49 you are referring to most likely.
And to compare it with the show premiere is just ....odd/unfair.
Of course, a show's premiere episode has always a lot more viewers.
What would make more sense would be to compare it to last season's average or the average of the last episodes of the last season.
And there it looks way better in comparison. The overall number is pretty much the same as the last 7 episodes of the season.
Even I had expected more viewers as it was the first episode of the season.
But as you said, football is on these weekends up to the Superbowl on February 6. I bet that they won't show a Batwoman episode on that Sunday.
So ratings of episodes 2 and 3 will be affected by football as well.
And also, it's the TV live ratings. I said that last year and just repeat it. That gets less and less important each year.
Would be interesting to know how many here watch TV shows actually LIVE on TV.
Much more interesting would be to know the streaming numbers from the official CW site where they earn seemingly a big chunk of their money.
And also from selling these shows to be shown on HBO Max like season 1.
-
It's quite odd that nearly no one watches such shows live on TV but nearly everyone thinks these ratings are the holy grail to determine a show's success.
That's like judging a whole big grocery store on their vegetable sales.
It's only one piece of the puzzle, especially with the CW business model.
But enough of that, we already discussed that on length in season 1....

It's not odd. Live broadcast is how the networks make their money.

Low ratings=no advertisers. No advertisers=show cancelled.

Especially in the 18-49 demo which is the one that networks are watching are watching the most.
The free streaming re-run viewers don't mean shit. No ad dollars being made there.

As for no one watching live TV anymore. The millions of viewers that other shows draw would prove you wrong.
Again, live broadcast is were networks make their money.
Cable channels, like HBO, make their money from the fees they charge cable and satellite companies.
The CW is a syndicated network. You don't need cable to watch it. So they need those ad dollars survive.
They do get some cable dollars, like the main stream networks do, but their main source of income is sponsors.

For networks, it's all about the ad dollars. That's why a show in a 60 minute time slot is actually 45 minutes long.
15 minutes of every hour is dedicated to sponsors. If no one watches live TV anymore, than why would these companies still be spending millions for 30, 60 and 90 second spots.

The only people that dismiss these ratings, are hardcore, delusional fans that don't want to believe that their favorite show may not be that good.

Wrong. You can stream it for free but you get ADs there, so they make money with it.
How much I can't tell.
But enough so that they make advertise their streaming platform EVERY chance they get.
Many other channels don't stream their programs...at least not for free.
And from what I learned you can't get the CW in the whole US as the availability is limited.
So, that streaming is VERY important for them.

And I didn't say these ratings aren't important....I did say that they are NOT THE ONLY number that is important.
Again...especially with the CW.

Also, the other factors are important as well. What do the other channels have on? Like, in this case, NFL is taking away numbers from all shows
-
By the way....Ratings don't determine if a show is good, only that it is popular (+streaming numbers, Blu-ray sales etc), which..... isn't the same. But ok, that's a whole topic for itself.
-
And in this case, I am waiting for how the numbers go on from NOW, and not compare everything to the very first episode (of the show).
If they would do that with all shows....it would be very depressing for 99,9% of the shows.
-

*EDIT*
Final ratings numbers are in. 18-49 demo goes up 50% (in comparison with the early rating). The early ratings show only one number after the point plus a zero...like 0.70 or 0.80 for example.
With the final rating, the second digit is now final. So, in this case, it changed from 0.10 to 0.15
https://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/batw ... o-ratings/

Interestingly on the same website there is a page about the possible next third season, and here is the commentary from the author:
Telly’s Take
Will The CW cancel or renew Batwoman for season three? The CW has always had smaller ratings than the other networks and isn’t even carried in all parts of the country. The channel has focused on streaming and other sources of revenue for quite a while. Since Batwoman is connected to The CW’s other superhero shows and is linked to the Batman family of characters, I believe the series will be renewed for a third season. I’ll update this page with breaking developments.

Maybe I'm the enemy but I've started watching this show ironically. It's really not very well written, but I get some enjoyment out of the silly things they do; like having Alice randomly murder a supermodel inside of Wayne Manor and face zero repercussions for it. Jacob Kane learns she's in the Manor and goes in solo, of course, taking none of the Crows with him, so she casually takes his gun away and walks out.

I actually thought having Tommy Elliot posing as Bruce Wayne would make for a great subplot for the show, though, something they could stretch across several episodes as he starts seizing control of Wayne Enterprise assets and depriving them from the hero. It could have been a fun struggle to watch her uncover that secret and have to work from outside Wayne Enterprises to take him down. Instead they just had her beat him up and send him to Arkham in one episode, though.

Which feels so awkward-there's a man in Arkham Asylum now who knows that Bruce Wayne is Batman and, what's more, knows how to get into the Batcave. He could share this knowledge with any number of dangerous people.

Its "moment" entertainment not story entertainment. Its not about the story, the story only exists to get you to the next moment. Its how commercials and porn flics are written. A thin story that gets you to the money shot. Nobody cares the plumber has a nail gun they just care he gets into the bedroom.

Its basically a different audience.

Of course it's not well written. It's a CW soap in superhero bodypaint.

I'm sure they would have done that (keeping him around) if Kate would still be around as it would be most interesting to see both cousins together.
But she isn't and I always thought we wouldn't be able to fool them for long. After all, he has just the face of Bruce Wayne, and that's it. He is missing the knowledge that Bruce has and that shows quickly.

And comparing this storytelling to porn.....oh [email protected].
Porn has no story at all, or a story that you can write while sitting on the toilet for 5 minutes (guess there are exceptions, but not many).
Yes, there are story weaknesses here and there, no doubt. But they had some really good storylines in the past as well....for my taste.
All the evil Alice background horror stories from the basement were all really good, for example.

And always keep in mind that this is a TV show with around 20 episodes per season and a pretty limited budget.
This isn't in the same league as "the boys" for example, where they do way fewer episodes and get big piles of money for it to burn.
And their storylines aren't really genius even it is a fun show.
-
But with the Kate Kane situation handled for now I expect more good stories to come:
Especially with Black Mask and Safiyah in the near future....

The only people that dismiss these ratings, are hardcore, delusional fans that don't want to believe that their favorite show may not be that good.
The Wire got bad ratings for its entire run. Ratings mean nothing about quality.

Which is not to say that Batwoman isn't some ridiculousness wrapped around a cast of hot lesbians, but the idea any measure of its quality as a show depends on audience figures is just weak.

Past that there's plenty wrong with it, I mean it would be almost trashy if it wasn't so fricking earnest. It's definitely not good.

But, I'll stick it on cos whatever.

Well, the current audience score on Rotten Tomatoes is 22% ( rotten ).
But, I suppose that the audience score amongst all of the uncounted streaming viewers is much higher.

^ Scores on this show mean not much either after it gets review-bombed by trolls since day 1 as it has so many triggers (lesbians, strong women, and now a black woman as a lead). And the trolls try everything to spit their hate on it. But I stop right there..... as I don't wanna waste too much time on that.
The trolls will always hate it.
Among the humans, the fans will enjoy the show. And the folks in between will watch it or not, for whatever reasons.

By the way, I'm not a huge fan of the new wig and would rather have the full view of her sexy cowl.
Perhaps someone will soon grab into that wig (like with Kate in episode 18) and yank it off, or it gets in the way somehow. So they might do some changes to it.
But the new suit is a HUGE improvement with its shiny elements, verrry sexy! And it certainly doesn't hurt she fills it out better than Ruby did. ;-)

Episode 2 - Okay that was a truly great take from the Batman comics:
Spoiler
Alice summons the bats with a remote
Maybe the best scene for the season as part of a fight scene.

Well, it's "just" a modified Corvette C7. Of course with gadgets and so on.
But they didn't have some millions just to make a Batmobile like the Tumbler or that odd thing that the new Batman will be driving.

@Visitor:
Well, the season only has 2 episodes so far ;-)
It was also a great reference to
Spoiler
"Batman Returns" in my eyes.

Two short, but interesting vids Javicia Leslie posted on her Insta, demonstrating how Batwoman stays in shape:

(Like that ninja-style mask!)

Damn, that frozen ice-hell, known as Vancouver: ;)

..ok, seems like she traveled someplace nice during the one-month filming break.
...if that was recorded in that time.

I caught up with Ep 1 and 2 today and I'm quite happy about how the transition has gone. Ruby/Kate gets a mysterious "out" and her beautiful stand-in has reasonable ties with some of the existing characters and importantly Alice who just continues to be perfect.

The nerd hatred for the show is such that this is nearly a ten percent improvement over the RT score of the first season.
