Has anyone ever used Pixiv or heard anything good/bad about them? It appears to be an Asian (not sure if its chinese) site similar to Patreon except they allow adult material.

I don't use it myself, but I've heard good things from some Deviantart pals who want to post racier material than DA allows.

Pretty sure it's japanese, though it does have users from across the world. It's more like Deviantart than Patreon IMO, though it does have a marketplace/sister site (fanbox) where you can buy stuff for money.
There really is some great content on Pixiv, the recommended follows system is good (follow one user, then it suggests others given that). Finding the right search terms can be a bit of a black art! Find stuff you like using english, then look to the associated tags for that.
