Pretty much what it says on the tin. It's a question I've asked before on other sites, but I feel like it was influenced by my work which tends to lean certain ways. So I thought I'd throw this out to the void here. What are your preferred stakes for Superheroine in peril fiction? I think there's an intimacy that comes with humiliation or enslavement that really appeals to me, where the heroine's biggest fear is losing face in front of the villain or being a play thing for that villain and growing to like it. I tend to enjoy the low and medium range with comedic coming in as well if the comedy is well done. High stakes peril isn't necessarily bad, but I'm not particularly excited by the danger, especially if the lead up is particularly gruesome.

Medium - Life changing events, like sexual enslavement.
