I tried to watch the new DC Superheroine series Stargirl. It has some interesting elements to it, but I just have a hard time buying into the story. Don't like the character personality development or the script dialogue. The storyline arc has potential. But I also know I'm probably not their audience base. This is a teen/young adult level show so it seems.

YET... I find the actress (Brec Bassinger) sexually appealing (when the character reaches 18 LOL) and her costume very sexy. I was curious if others out there felt the same way. I'd potentially see this as another Superheroine character to add to our SHIP Producers' cast of characters. Perhaps a fresh and new Heroine to put into sexual peril (making her of legal age) situations. There are villains and side-kicks to round out the concept..

Thoughts and ideas?

I understand what you mean about personality and so on in Courtney's character. I think many might agree for example that we expect to see a little remorse at the death of her fellow student on the bridge. However, I generally like the show for its lightness and humour, especially when compared to some of the darker worlds out there.

The duality of Courtney/Brec in terms of age obviously causes some moral confusion. You know the actress is legal, but the show's version of the character is not. Writing Stargirl fiction with her grown up should be fine, likewise with any parody like stuff. And as for SHIP producers, well you should note that your post has spawned links to "similar threads" below where you'll see they've been busy for years...

I agree completely with what both of you are saying about the Stargirl character. vs. the actress. On the show, the character is, I believe, 15. I'm guessing the producers did this so that the series can run for a few years in the high school setting. Therefore, any stories which would include anything sexual would need to move forward at least three years. Obviously this can be done. I'm in the very early stages of a story where the characters are all 18 or older. The Stargirl character is perfect for peril. Separate her from the staff and she is basically a normal girl in a very hot costume

On the other hand, the actress, Brec Bassinger, is 21 and absolutely gorgeous. The Stargirl costume, as I alluded to above, looks incredibly hot on her and, even when she's not in costume, the producers seem determined to give us a couple of great shots of her amazing ass in every episode.

BTW, I generally like the show. It doesn't take itself too seriously and has done a good job of developing the characters. There has been some good action, including a very good fight scene in last week's episode during which Stargirl and her friends pretty much get their asses handed to them. I hope the show sticks around for a few seasons.

How does everyone feel about Wildcat?

I tend to like that costume better because I like superheroine costumes that cover everything but hide nothing. The actress, Yvette Monreal, is 27.

I agree, a series where they're all in college would be better.

I tend to go back and forth on the Stargirl vs. Wildcat question. Obviously, there is no right answer. They are both incredibly beautiful young women, but they are completely different type. Brec/Stargirl is blonde, bubbly and outgoing while Yvette/Wildcat is brunette, more exotic and more of a loner. Both of the costumes are hot and reflect the personalities of the characters with Stargirl's costume being brighter and showing more skin while Wildcat's is darker and, as you said, "covers everything and hides nothing". In terms of potential peril, they, again, are six of one, half a dozen of another. Stargirl would seem to the easier to capture since without the staff, she is basically a normal girl. Wildcat, on the other hand, gets her powers from her costume meaning that stripping her of the costume would be a prerequisite for capturing her. I'm just glad they're on the same show and that we can enjoy both of them every week.

To be honest the plus of this show is the fresh and light feel of things which essentially is a reflection of the heroes' youth. If they were older characters then the nature of the show might end up feeling heavier and darker. Wildcat, to me, is probably more the hero than anyone else. Sure, the suit augments her, but beneath that she's an actual fighter and has a brave heart. Courtney, while having an athletics background gains more from her Staff than Wildcat does from her suit, in my opinion, similarly for the others where "things" rather than underlying skill or talent make them what they are. If you took their toys away Wildcat would still be the boxer that she is ... so ... yeah, I like Wildcat too!

I agree that having the characters as high school age is necessary for the TV show to succeed. Looking at the show with older characters is mostly wishful thinking in terms of potential peril. Last week's episode is a good example. The scene where Stargirl is being double teamed by Tigress and Sportsmaster had serious peril potential that could not be explored in the context of the show because of the age of the character.
I also agree that Wildcat would be the best fighter and would have the most "heroine" potential without the enhancement of her costume. Courtney probably would be a close second.

Those are good points. I agree, I like the lighter feel to.the show. Someone described the show as if The Breakfast Club were superheroes. I like that description. It's accurate and it's a fun premise.

As Stargirl has been around as a character for a while and is known, at least among DC Comics fans if not the general public,
there have been regular SHIP portrayals of her by the Portland studio known as XXXtremcomiXX, whose use of the character goes back to at least 2016. He used that costume over and over and over and over. In fact, the very last video he did before he stopped production (not sure why, but I'm sure someone on here knows) was yet another Stargirl video.

Since no one else has used the Stargirl costume, but I'm sure it's fairly easy to acquire (looks like it costs about $80-$100), the opportunity is wide open to capitalize on the popularity of the current TV show. I say go for it, and throw some Wildcat action in there too (looks like that costume you will have to make yourself, unless you can find the owner of the mask below). No one can defeat the power of Rule 34 for very long!

I don't see any quality Stargirl costumes out there at present. Finding a large white fabric star to go as the centerpiece of the top is difficult because they don't generally make appliques in that size unless you contact a specialist, and the red and blue panels of fabric make it a sewn project rather than a buy-it-then-convert-it sort of project which is what most fetish producers do in a pinch.

The staff would actually be one of the easiest things to craft with a little PVC piping and some 45-degree and 90-degree joints, along with some craft paint and a curing oven.

I would simply like to say that the show is surprisingly good. I enjoy the characters and the campiness of it. It's light hearted and positive.

Brec is a beautiful young woman. The outfit shows off the six-pack mid-riff really well and, of course, I am a leg man so no disputes there. yes, I agree the producers show off her butt whenever she's in plain clothes (more than likely for the 'older' audience). The lady has a petite, athletic form. Yvette is also very beautiful. The costume is dark and seen at night most times, so it hides her shape thus far.

Yes, I would like to see both characters in bondage peril. Don't think they can do it due to the 'age' presented on screen.

There are several Stargirl costumes on sale right now between $80-100 which seem to be of quality (cotton blend + polyester + fake leather, with all accessories included). The costume companies were ready for the show coming out. Why wouldn't they be? Girls are going to want these for Cons once they start back up again.
