I check in on heroinemovies.com every few days, and when I'm weighing a purchase, I tend to read the comments under each video. The thing that I can't help but notice is just how incredibly particular this community can be. You see comments like "de-booting AFTER unmasking? Sorry, hard pass."

If this sounds like you, I would strongly encourage you to loosen up a little. I can think of quite a few times when I decided to try something that seemed outside my wheelhouse and I wound up really glad I did. One example is the TBFE video "Crypt". It used to be that if I were going to buy a video, it HAD to have male-on-female forced sex. But I am just such a big Olive Glass fan that I decided to go for it and I am so glad I did. It's now one of my top all-time favs. Recently I've been exploring other kinds of peril in videos and I'm realizing I should have done this ages ago.

I realize I'm kind of being a jerk here, and I know if you're going to spend $40 you should get what you want. But I wouldn't have found this genre in the first place if I hadn't taken a chance here and there.

Flame away!

Snidely, interesting topic. I don't buy a lot of videos myself but I can understand your theory. I'm primarily a Supergirl fan but I have bought outside my wheelhouse with Wonder Woman videos and have been pleasantly surprised. So, yes, I would go with "Trying new stuff" with the caveat of 'do your research whenever possible' and 'be sure there are elements either portrayed in a preview or explained in the perils list that you know you'll like' and then give it a chance. It's supposed to be discretionary money after all, not the rent, right?

I don't think "de-booting AFTER unmasking? Sorry, hard pass" is a good comparison to female on female sex. You are talking about a particular genre of porn aka lesbian porn. Complaining about the order of events is very unreasonable in the case of "debooting after unmasking".

I'm not a fan of de-booting. I prefer the heroine to always wear her boots as I don't like feet. However, I will buy a de-booting video as long as there are not elements for foot fetish.

I also prefer if the heroine's costume stay on, but I will buy videos with the heroine complete stripped of her costume. It's juicer when the script gives a good reason for removing the costume such as the heroine loses her powers.

I'm also prefer for the sex to remain vaginal. I'm not a fan of anal sex, but again I will buy a SHIP video with anal sex. I'm fine with the video as long as there is not any anal gaping.

However, I am extremely picky and refuse to buy movies with certain fetishes. As I said earlier, I don't like feet. I will not buy a movie with the guy kissing the heroine's feet and fucking her feet. Gaping is also a HUGE turn off! It's not a problem with SHIP. I've never seen anal gaping in SHIP. It is a major issue in other types of porn with anal sex.

Been there, done that. Every time I have purchased a film outside my wheelhouse, I end up bitterly disappointed. If I want to go gambling I will go to the casino, but if I am going to make a $40 to $50 purchase, nowadays I try to make sure I am not throwing that money away. Sorry but I do not have an unlimited set of funds available to purchase SHP films that have obvious flaws, drawbacks, or subfetishes within those films that I do not care about. I think that it is important to have high standards and expectations for SHP films for the prices we are paying for these films. I simply do not regularly have $50 to just light on fire just for a maybe/maybe not flawed film.

Echoing the comment above, it's all about cost. Cheaper videos, I'm more flexible. You get to $20 dollars or more, then I'm gonna get picky.
I don't have the disposal income I once did so I'm going to be choosy. And I don't want to hear the old,
"Well, we need to support the industry." Nope. If producers are going to put out content that does not do
anything for me then what's the point of supporting it? We are not feeding the homeless with this, it's business.
You put a product out that I want and I'm going to buy it. The more it's in my "wheelhouse" and the better the production,
the more I'm willing to spend. And this is where producers get frustrated because they try to meet one particular fetish and all
the other potential customers pass on it. But what can you do?

While I'll try new stuff, I do prefer to be able to see previews and get enough information to tell if I could like it. I've gotten burned too many times on several different media types to want to see something that is too much of what I don't like. I probably miss out of good videos by going back to the same places for similar content, but it reduces wasted time looking at something that sounded better that it was for me.

I had one book that I gave away to the first friend that was visiting because I hated it so much I couldn't stand to have it around long enough to take it to trade in at the nearest used book store. I don't even want to think about the videos I deleted just because I didn't want to fill up space that could be put to better use.

Preach! Customers should support and buy videos that we want. Nobody should just buy something to support a company. Companies are only rewarded money from a customer if the company produced a good product.
