One of the "founding fathers." There are no words for the magnitude of his contributions or his boundless imagination. I will miss his cameos.

Not sure what there is to say. He was a titan, a legend. Writing comics since 1939 and still shaping our culture nearly eighty years later. And a really nice guy by all accounts.

A sad day indeed. Stan Lee was a true pioneer and icon. The comic book world got a little darker today. And I too will miss his cameos. They were always the best Easter eggs in the MCU.

Unless of course your name was Jack Kirby or any of the dozen other creators Stan Lee stole from throughout his long career
"Backstabbing Stan" was his unofficial name in the Marvel Bullpen.

We knew the day would come, but it was still kind of a shock when it did.

Still, he lived to see his works beloved by millions, and dominating the box office in ways he could never have dreamed of. A good life, and a long one.

Rest in peace, and thanks for all the comic books.

As I've said elsewhere: RIP Stan. זצ״ל

Action was his reward.

Also, that Vulture article about the failings of the man is very interesting. I wish they'd have mentioned the two seasons of the game show Who Wants to Be a Superhero? which Stan Lee hosted. For me that was one of the highlights of his final decade (beyond the movie cameos) in a period where a lot of his other projects didn't come to fruition.

I'd forgotten "Who Wants to be a Superhero"...man that guy must've had some hefty mortgage payments...that show was a weird dystopian disaster. You may as well have called it "Who wants to be an Angel"? No one can truly BE a superhero...I always thought the show should have showcased artists and writers that were looking to get into the comic book industry...

You're probably right..but it did have a handful of interesting women in spandex :)

Here's a pretty good documentary that's worth a view:
