Don't know if this would work, but the superheroine could face other opponents/obstacles. For example, the old Fleischer Superman fought dinosaurs and wild animals and robots. So if the villain comes out the heroine slowly with a Chloroformed cloth and the heroine struggles and protests and shows a little fear, I'm good.

Where to start? lol! I prefer to see the superheroine get beaten in a long, hard fight not through chloroform or kryptonite etc but because her foe is stronger than she even while she is at "full strength."
