I never looked that deeply into it. For me Riker was the friendly medium between Kirk and Picard. Yeah it was odd he never took promotion, but for the sake of keeping the cast together for the show pretty much everyone had to be on the Enterprise so it makes sense for the episodic nature of the show...

This will probably wind up being a bit of "both sides are right" in that it's probably not as bad as she's stating it to be, but some of what she's being countered with is probably true. A lot of the other actors who maybe haven't had big roles in the past are going to stick up for the com...

I haven't really enjoyed Trek since the end of TNG and DS9, so the show was kind of fun at first, but then quickly became rather corny. The only real moments I've enjoyed were seeing that Riker did actually get to go on and kick some ass as Captain of the Titan. I had always hoped for a spin off sho...

What is your beef with the US anyway? I'll take a jab at this one. Americans are dying of covid at a rate of 6/million/day. Canadians are dying at a rate of 0.8/million/day. That's a more than sevenfold higher death rate. Is it completely lost on you what a staggering failure that is? Americans are...

Never cared for the Spiderman films either pre-MCU or in the MCU. I guess I'm in the minority of liking it, other than the overly long cape. There are a couple of good fights though with a good mix of peril for some of the heroines at least, but yeah overall it was certainly a "set up" season that took way too long to get going. Really weird though that they would do a spin off of it when it wasn't that well received on its own.

Yeah it was kind of an odd show and these days people are really just looking for the standard MCU or DC fodder they've grown used to. That said, would have been nice to at least see a 2nd season to try to tie it together a bit better...and more Lady Liberty wouldn't have been a bad thing.
