I think we can all agree SHC Ultragirl is still to this day one of the greatest superheroine things.

But what made those videos so good? What was it about the girl or character?

Can we ever recreate the magic now?

Ultragirl had a pretty great costume. Ultrawoman was great to, but Ultragirl filled out the costume better. Obviously the classic blue/red color scheme helps a lot as well. I think at this point in human evolution that particular color pairing is fairly hardwired to be 'superheroic' in our minds.

My favourite ultra girl video is Ultra Girl: Delivered from Heroine Universe Nylon Fantasies, I agree something about the color scheme and the way the blue leotard looks is just the full package.

Is this the same Ultra Girl who was swallowed by a giant Mop in one clip I remember seeing?

Have to give a different view.

Thought UltraGirl was very basic and boring.

For me at least to make a great superheroine video

1. She has to look like one physically
2. The costume have to look real
3. The defeat has to be realistic
4 The villain or villaness has to be clever or look like a threat

I think it was the fact she wound up in a lot of different perils and traps and it had some elements of the Batman/Wonder Woman TV shows, but they went much further to that place you know the bad guys would want to take things. She took beatings, was doused in liquids/slime, chloroformed(she has one of the all time great scenes where her powers get taken away and she gets beat up by 2 regular goons who give her a double chloroforming), etc. and that variety coupled with a good looking actress and a simple yet great looking costume really brought it all together for me.

I think it's pretty cool that "Ultra Woman/Ultra Girl" (which previously stood for several different random characters in comics, and a Lois Lane alter-ego on a TV show) went from a classic SHG heroine series (my favorite being the one where she fights the Keelixes) to a standard costume used by many different studios due to the fact that it's easily obtainable online. It's a "secret" underground character that we all know about, but that the mainstream is completely unaware of, like our very own in-joke. Nice. And yes, DC Comics has long ago hardwired us to accept blue and red as the most 'heroic' combination of colors for a costume.

For me, Ultra Woman is only my third favorite character from SHG, behind Golden/Supreme Avenger (I'd consider them the same concept) and Night Angel (that actress had a body that was fit beyond belief). But she's definitely up there, and all kudos to DanO, Mr. X and the team for those great sexy adventures. The Mop Monster? I could take or leave that one. She could have defeated him with a bucket full of water!

Totally agree with this. Loved the fact that Ultra Girl and the other SHC heroines had their videos mostly based around peril. Also, it was great they had a background story and universe they were in. This allowed connection of stories and heroines like Ultra Woman with Brite Star.
