It's me again, Spikeeagle, I sort of loss the log in detail a few years back when I change my computer and I wouldn't bothered to retrieve it as I don't remember the email detail associated with that account. So after a few years of Hiatus, I am coming back now.

So in these couple of years, I found my own practices (I am a lawyer by trade) got married and have a kid. And have been doing quite a lot of roles play with my wife who also into comic book and is a self-professed geek, I met her in Sydney Supanova a couple of years ago back before COVID set in.

Seeing the genre had changed, and now it's more woke than ever. I have to come back here for some nostalgic hit......

Talk to you all soon.

Woke does seem to have gone a little overboard. I'm a little conflicted watching the guys movement that seems to be motivated by what the equal opportunity movement was doing a couple of decades ago.

I'm all for equal opportunity, but that notion about feminist equality feels a little rubbish since guys and girls are obviously different?

I mean, if you were passed out in a burning building and a fireman came to rescue you, would you want a normal fireman, or one who had the requirements to be a fireman lowered so that they had 'equality' come and lift you up to haul you out of a burning building?

I know most heroines are pretty 'woke' in the peril genre already, but i'm waiting for someone to come out and just thumb their nose at the woke movement in peril stories...

Like Wonder Woke... or Agent of W.O.K.E.... or some such nonsense.

Oops...I didn't know the post was approved by admin was expecting some email notification...

Anyway, yeah, I would say the genre had gone a lot more woke than before, from the last few season the Supergirl costume change to the assorted recast for different superheroine actor, I wanted to love what the mainstream has to offer but every time I tuned in TV or go see a movie, the wokeness never seems to amaze me.

I too am all for woman empowerment or equal opportunities, but that does not mean the big honcho of movie studio have to do 180 degrees change and go the extra LONG mile to please the female audience meanwhile forgetting it is middle class male who are writing them cheque. If they keep on doing what they are doing, then good luck filling those theatre with female movie goer.

I mean, I don't want nudity, I don't want overly sexual scene, I enjoy damsel in distress kind of stuff and overly confident women thinking in over their head and get into trouble, this got me going, but seems like the only place I can find them now is from superheroine porn. Which is a shame, because this is something I cannot share with my wife (She is into superheroine stuff but more of a cosplay kind of interest, no sexual kind of interest...) And to get disappointed every time (well, almost) I go watch Marvel and DC stuff with her...
