This is the latest post I have received on Facebook from the producers of this exceptionally fine work:
"Batgirl The Web Series

***IMPORTANT NOTICE***

As of yesterday afternoon our IndieGoGo has received a take-down notice from Warner Brothers. Thus our crowdfunding campaign is canceled. We are working directly with IndieGoGo to make sure all those who donated to the campaign are refunded. We don't know yet how long this will take as of this posting, but we are working to make it as expedient as possible.

Considering this development Batgirl: Spoiled is going to go on a temporary, possibly permanent hiatus while we consider the fiscal and legal ramifications of going forward. If and when we have updates you can expect them here.

To be clear, we always knew this was a possible outcome of our series, and in recent months similar series with various IP have run into this same issue. We hold no ill will toward WB for this action, as it was their legal right. We were only borrowing the story from WB/DC they had every right to ask for it back.

This is a risk we took when we came together to make this series years ago, and we knew some day this might happen and well its happened and we're moving on. We'll have new projects in the future, and maybe one day Batgirl will again be on that list, and we'll be happy to see you all there when and if that happens.

Until then... speaking on behalf of everyone who made Batgirl: Spoiled over the past few years, thank you for your fandom, and thank you for your support. We will make a more lengthy statement in video form in the next few days / weeks on the YouTube page.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, and (perhaps only temporarily) Batgirl: Spoiled signing off..."

Too bad. Another excellent producer doing what the big guys cannot do, and gets squashed by their legal team for his efforts! Oh well, back to the porn.

Well, the youtube channel for the project is still up, so at least they haven't been forced to completely remove the project from the internet.

One wonders why this particular project has been shut down, while others are ignored. Was it the crowd-sourcing? Was the project becoming too high-profile, somehow? My first assumption was that the project was seen as vulnerable and unable to finance a challenge in the courts, given that it was asking the public for money to keep it going. Curious and interesting, sorry they were hit like this.

It is a shame - although they were playing with fire by going to conventions drumming up support. Combine that with the amount of awesome movie-making talent volunteering their time, and the big boys were bound to get a little nervous.

If only it'd actually bring the guys at WB to actually do something about the "competition" - or actually make some movies with female heroines in the lead. Unfortunately don't see it becoming a regular thing, despite the relative sucess of Batman and Superman.

I wonder how Phase 2 gets away with it.

Maybe Paramount doesn't care cause they add to the fan base.

Now they've established a following, maybe they could ditch the DC characters and do something similar, but not copyright-infringing? Hell, they could even make some money from it.

Pity we won't get any more episodes.

That first " Batgirl Spoiled" had more sexy peril in it than most of the videos advertised on this board. All PG rated, but the beatdown and the threat of rape were really, really HOT.

I don't think we want the big boys to make aBatgirl movie. They would undoubtedly fumble the costume , at the least, and I don't want to see that.

I think DC are usually fine until you start getting money for doing it. What they should do of course is take them on board and utilise them.
