Male heroes/villains turned female...

Let's face it: a great many of our most beloved superheroines today were created when some lazy mope from the yestergenerations of comics took an existing male hero and tacked boobs on. Supergirl, Batgirl, Mary Marvel, She-Hulk... the list goes on. Now, a great many of those heroines have indeed become rich and beloved characters on their own, but I think that to many of us, part of the appeal still comes from seeing the inherent power of their "male" counterparts combined with feminine vulnerability.

The Internet at large has created a name for this phenomenon: Rule 63. Pop any character's name into Google - Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter, the freaking Mario Brothers - and you will very likely see that someone, somewhere, has made fanart of them as a hot chick. Why should superheroes be any different.

So, my fellow lovers of all things superheroine... what are your favorite depictions of sex-swapped heroes/villains, and what characters would you like to see gain a sexy female counterpart?

Me, I'm gonna start off with the Geekery Gold Medal and go with obscure Batman villain KGBeast for the latter question. I mean, look at this guy, for Pete's sake.



I think that all of us can agree that that skintight, S&M-worthy costume would look a lot better on some hot Russian girl. Preferably one who's putting Wonder Woman in sexy/violent perils during the height of the Cold War.

The Space Ghost art looks amazing. DareDevil is also one I'd like to see done well in this genre.

I've thought many times about a video of X-23, who is essentially a female clone of Wolverine. Not sure, though. Seems like it might be hard to avoid it getting pretty dark with the healing factor.

I just like the idea of A) Supergirl meeting someone as powerful or MORE powerful than her and B) a villainess designed purposely to 'defeat' the heroine. Like the greatest trap/plan their foe has come up with. Nuclear Girl fits the bill, for me at least.

Ah, one of these days, I need to sit down and watch Superman IV. From what I hear, it's not a lot more professionally produced than most fetish/porn superhero videos.

Though I've always liked that clip of Lex and Lenny going "Destroy Superman!" at each other while grinning like total dorks.

One of these days, I've really got to commission a decent all-female Power Rangers pic with all the bells and whistles. Shouldn't be that hard - once the helmets are on, it's basically five characters based off of one model.
