I’m a lover of secret agent style stories and I truly love some of the A.V. and gravure stories that Japan has created over the years. The producers in Japan really know how to bring their stories to life with the right kind of creativity and when a friend of mine recommended this vid to me, I knew that I’d be in for a treat. ‘Secret Female Agent RR-3’ has a lot going for it: great filming locations and cinematography, creative choreographed fight scenes, fantastic camerawork and a fantastic, adventurous story filled with espionage, lady spies, betrayal, double-cross, etc.
There are so many great things to list about this vid, it’s hard to know where to start. But let’s start with the characters and we’ll go from there.
Characters-
First there’s Honoka Sekiguchi as the title character Anri Matsuno. Honoka looks absolutely gorgeous in this vid and she carried herself like a professional in this story. Everything about her was pure perfection when she took on the role of Matsuno…the way she dressed, her facial expressions and so forth. Honoka-san was like an angel in this vid and I greatly admired her spirit in this vid.

Next, there’s Miyaka Hatori who played the damsel-in-distress Chinatsu Narumiya. Miyaka was just as darling her Honoka-san and the beginning of the film, her character is put through some very nasty torture at the hands of her captors and you’ll feel really bad for her character in this story. I think that alone is the catalyst that made me root for Honoka-san to come to her rescue in this vid. The more pain Miyaka went through the more I said to myself, ‘Hurry Matsuno-san! Chinatsu’s in trouble, she can’t hold out for much longer!’

Pros
-Fabulous filming locations that take us outdoors to various areas including near the ocean and they even got to film an area inside a building for the bad guy’s secret lair. Japan truly is a beautiful place and I bet the people at akibattle really had to pull their resources to do some of these filming locations, unless they have their own personal studio somewhere.
-The script for this vid was top notch and the performances of the cast were extraordinary. Everyone played their part swell and stayed in character throughout every scene in this vid.
-This vid is also equipped with English subtitles so you can get a better understanding of the story and what’s going on (especially if you’re not fluent in Japanese). That right there is a serious plus-up for this vid as most of these vids are in there native language and with no means of making out what the characters are saying.
-Excellent outfits that the cast has and Honoka-san got to dress up as a tomboy while going undercover later on in the story. (That was interesting that they used the ‘master of disguise’ trope for this story and it works well for Honoka-san). Nobody suspected that her character was actually an undercover agent from the beginning.

They had some stage props like some tables and other furniture which broke when someone crashed into them. The close-ups they do for these scenes was well filmed and the dust that flew out from the point of impact really added flavor to the fights.
-Eventually, Matsuno is subdued by the bad guys and Toko reveals her plans to her and how she and Chinatsu were both captured so easily by her organization. Admiring Matsuno’s spirit, Toko then tells her that she’s going to torture Matsuno into becoming one of her spies just like Chinatsu. (shudders)

Throughout the torture sequence though, Matsuno held tough and was even daring the bad guys to give her their 'best shot'. I love a superheroine vid where the protagonist doesn't concede so easily to the enemy and Honoka-san was a trooper in during these scenes.
-Great use of props from torture instruments, to a notebook on torture, to Matsuno’s trusty revolver, which she holds a great deal but doesn’t get to use until close to the end of the story.
-Audio was crisp and clear and had some interesting music tracks to set the mood for each scene. Best part, the music doesn’t overtake the actresses and actors when they’re speaking their lines.
-A happy, happy joy, joy ending folks. (Don’t wanna spoil too much, but the story ends in a way that makes you want to say, ‘Encore! Encore!’)

Not a single ‘con’ in sight for this video and that’s saying a whole lot about the people who put this masterpiece together. I was thoroughly impressed with what the producers at akibattle put together. Truly a vid worth having in one’s collection if they like secret agent style tales.
Final Score for ‘Secret Female Agent RR-33’: a whopping 10 out of 10!
